We have 30 members of our family stay at this hotel for a family reunion. The rooms with kitchens and living rooms were excellent gathering places, all rooms were wonderful for families with children. The rooms were extremely quiet, could not hear anything through the walls. Hotel staff was excellent, hotel was clean, everyone wanted to ensure we had a great experience. Nathaniel, general manager, always had a big smile on his face, ready for a request, we saw him at the front desk, we saw him helping kitchen staff, he runs a wonderful location with a well trained staff. Highly recommend.

Staff was happy, accommodating and very friendly. The rooms were very clean and very quiet. The only negative about the room was the pillows were hard and resulted in a morning neck ache. It also would of been nice if some kind of throw blanket was provided for the couch and better lighting. The air conditioner blows strongly on the couch and the temperature goes from comfortable to very cold. After traveling a month on the road and eating powdered eggs and substandard breakfast food it was a pleasure to have breakfast at this hotel. The piece de resistance was the freshly made omelette by Luz. Your choice of ingredients prepared with love. We looked forward to that each morning. The pool and the gym were great. The gym helped us get some of the kinks out of our backs from our travels. Overall we would give this hotel a 9 out of 10.

My husband booked us a Studio King Suite with a kitchen at your hotel, which included a hot breakfast, a Hyatt Grand Bed, and a Cozy Corner Sofa-Sleeper. We are a family of five.
We arrived at the hotel around 11 pm after a 12-hour drive, so you can imagine how tired we were. I understand that the hotel was overbooked, but the front desk did not mention that we would only have a single king-size bed without even a pull-out. Imagine trying to fit five people in a king-size bed after a long drive; everyone was exhausted. A call to inform us about room availability would have avoided this situation. Alternatively, if the front desk had informed us that they only had that room and asked if it would be okay for us, it would have been better. They saw that there were five of us, and it is common sense that a family of five cannot fit in one king-size bed.
We travel a lot and have stayed in many Hyatt House locations, particularly in Illinois. This location was the worst. The hotel smelled bad, the lobby was dirty, and there was no communication at all.

It's a great location in Oak Brook, just down the street from the mall and about 30 minutes into downtown Chicago. The staff was very friendly and when we came back late from a concert and asked for some hot tea, the manager gave us our choice of Tazo tea bags which I was able to make hot water in the microwave. The room was nice (except for the dirty garbage in the kitchen!), we reserved 2 queens studio to have more room. When we arrived into our room, the garbage can in the kitchen was full, not emptied and it was overflowing. And there was beer spilled on the bottom of the cabinet. So I had to clean it up and put the garbage outside our door. I let Marta at the front desk know and they came up to retrieve and placed an empty garbage can with a new bag in it. I also requested an extra set of towels on the app when I reserved the room but they weren't in there so they also had to bring those to my room and put them in a bag outside my door. It was super hot in there when we first arrived, the AC was turned off but it cooled down by the time we returned from the concert. It was quiet and the beds were comfy. I'm not a fan of the strange looking shampoo pouches...sort of awkward to open and the bar of soap is somewhat small for showering! I used the app to check in and thought it would be a mobile key which it was not. And I never received a notice that my room was ready until I walked into the lobby. I expected more since I've stayed at several Hyatt Houses in the past that were better than expected so this was average, good but not great. Also, definitely not worth $300 a night.

We booked for two queen beds with a kitchen room when we arrived Galli at the front desk gave us a room upgrade to a bigger room that had a full kitchen. She was very courteous for that gesture. The room was amazing I wish we stayed longer. Breakfast was good just the eggs were not warm for me.

This is my second stay at the Hyatt House. The guest rooms are spacious. This time I stayed for 5 days. Everyday was a welcome surprise. The first morning I was introduced to the made to order omelet i couldn't help but leave a TIP! (tip not required). But once you taste it you will leave a $$ (tip). Housekeeping was great and came always at a time after I left the room that was great because some days I left the room later than others. If I need anything the front desk staff was on it. I will send it right up. UBER Eats leaves your stuff at the front desk making for a more enjoyable stay. Also they have Fast Food at the bar located inside. So you can eat, drink and be merry. Overall love this site my wife and I will always enjoy this best kept secret in Oak Brook, IL. Right off the express way, Near O'Hare Airport, shopping, downtown Chicago and lots of ways to get to where you want to be without going on TOLL roads.

As part of the Hyatt brand and having stayed at a Hyatt House in another location, I was very disapppointed. The bathroom was not clean and many things in the room needed to be repaired. For example, when I turned on the bathroomm sink, the lever came off in my hands. Given the discovery of a past guest's hair on the bathroom floor, along with wood shavings from the installation or repair of something in the bathroom, it was clear that this bathroom had not been cleaned adequately.

We recently stayed for 3 nights while our home is undergoing renovations. The front desk staff at Hyatt House Chicago/Oak Brook was so friendly and welcoming. We were greeted every time we came and went. The lobby, lounge and rooms are all very clean and updated. Parking is super easy and free. Our King suite room had a great kitchenette with fridge, microwave, dishwasher and dishes. The hot breakfast options were also great and hard to come by at other hotels these days! Every morning there were fresh options, not packaged, like oatmeal, waffles, and a made-to-order omelette station.
The ONLY downside was other guests. There is little soundproofing between the rooms and the guests on our floor were incredibly loud. I don't know if they have a large number of extended stay guests, but it gave the atmosphere a little bit of a cheap apartment building. The streaming and crying from the kids next door and constant slamming of doors all day made it really difficult to work (I work remotely). The room across the hall also REEKED of weed. It was so strong I felt terrible for the housekeeping staff that had to clean that room.
Overall, the hotel and staff were great, and I would still recommend it.

There was so much room for improvement at this hotel during our stay. As a World of Hyatt Member I have stayed a many Hyatt properties and I will not return to this one. Upon arrival our room did not have extra pillows for the pull out bed (which we were using) and the soap in the shower was empty. These were remedied by staff.
In the morning the space next to the bed had a distinct animal urine smell. The front desk informed me that our room was located on their "animal floor". We were given a new room but the though that we had walked through that area in our sock feet for a day was disgusting. The new room also did not have any pillows.
Throughout our stay there were never towels in the gym or the pool area. We secured towels for ourselves at the front desk but the shelves in the gym and pool were never replenished.
The breakfast was disappointing, staff appeared to be refilling items but several choices sat empty / mostly empty and were not filled during our time down at breakfast. Plate collection containers were overflowing and trash was stuffed so full no more could be added on both mornings of our stay.

We have assigned rooms on the 1st floor that are pet friendly, however sometimes we may need to rent out other rooms for guests that bring along pets due to specific needs. (For Example: Service Animals, accessibility needs, and etc.) In the event that a "Non-Pet Friendly" room is used, we have an agreement with a Professional Certified Company in which they provide an extensive deep cleaning of the room once the guest has checked out. The pool is a small indoor heated pool on ground floor. You need a key card to enter the pool. Towels are next to the pool. They have a warm open shower next to the pool.
We brought our dog to this hotel twice and haven't gotten a "special room" because of it. I'm not really sure if they have a block of rooms dedicated towards guests with pets or not. Both times we've stayed here we've gotten really nice rooms and they didn't seem downgraded.

The Hyatt House Oak brook is not close to downtown Chicago unfortunately, about 30 to 45 minutes by auto depending on traffic. The shuttle will not run that far from the hotel. As I recall the Shuttle will take guests to and from the local shopping areas nearby and to public transport. Of course there are closer Hyatt hotels to the Symphony Center, Hyatt at McCormick place or Hyatt's in downtown Chgo. Of course these come with higher rates, $60.00 parking and no free breakfast.
If you want the Hyatt House Oakbrook I'd check with them on your transport options, most likely they can get you to rapid the transit system to get you to and from downtown. Even then I would allow at least 1 total hour to make that trip (one way) to be sure and safe. Hope this helps and safe travels.
