Detailed Reviews
Waiyaki was an excellent host. He always answered to all our requests and organized interesting activities for our holidays. The rooms are unique and the facilities quite comfortable. I particularly loved the local food served during dinner and the snorkelling and trekking in different islands. I highly recommend for tourists to contact Sibonai Guesthouse.

The location is stunning near the bay on the edge of the rainforest. The owner and his family are happy and friendly. The little resort area is nicely landscaped with flowers and rocks. A freshwater stream runs behind and there are children, chickens, piglets, and dogs running around. The bungalows are rustic with little decks, mosquito nets over the beds and sitting area. There is no electricity in the room, but they provided a battery-powered lamp and offered to charge our phones if needed. There is a cold water shower and western style toilet. The meals are generous. They also provide boiled water. The area is undeveloped, so the walk in the rainforest is beautiful. There are over 20 species of birds of the island that aren’t found elsewhere as well as countless unique reptiles, frogs, etc. Of course, we were there to see the Goldie Bird of Paradise which we did – lots! The staff knows where to look, and there is a good chance you will see them dancing and courting. The visit to Sewa Bay was the highlight of our wonderful trip to PNG, and we aren’t even birders!
