Detailed Reviews
In its defense, the hotel is being updated/remodeled gradually, room by room, but mine was not one of the rooms. The bathroom door didn't close, there was no towel rack, the shower needs to be replaced completely, the ceiling has water damage and the paint is peeling, and the corridor carpet has paint chips. There is no guest laundry, no fitness although there is a sign for it, and the only ice is in the lobby. No breakfast, although that is typical for Motel 6. This is a converted econolodge so the lobby is huge and almost devoid of furniture, which makes it seem forboding. There are vending machines in the lobby and coffee in the morning, but this is otherwise a bare bones place. Free wifi, free parking, pet friendly (no charge), near airport.

Booked a room for 3 nights and chose the "pay at property" option.
When we got there, there were several issues:
1: Blessing in disguise - they'd cancelled our booking because they hadn't been able to draw money from my card, or contact me by phone (I was on a plane)
2: The cancellation meant that the room cost more than I'd booked it for.
3: The lobby stunk like a kitchen that hadn't been cleaned in a year. Even the pictures in the lobby had a funky smell.
4: The room smelled horrible and the foor was dirty.
5: There were stains on the towels, linen and walls
6: There were dead bugs in the bathroom, and the bathroom floor was sticky.
7: You could hear everything going on in the other rooms through the walls and the other guests were loud.
8: The establishment and the staff seemed sketchy and it didn't feel like a safe environment.
The only positive thing was that the guy at the reception desk was semi-helpful.

Sadly, I can’t give this fewer stars. I reluctantly stayed here after AA cancelled my flight. It was their courtesy accommodation and I had it not been 11.30pm by the time I checked after the cancellation mess at the airport, I would’ve carried on elsewhere.
Terrible smells everywhere, in elevator, in hallway, in the room, including stale cigarette smoke. Bedding and towels stained. Visible streaking, dripping and splotches of stains on walls and carpet. I wouldn’t even take my clothes off or shower there. I slept on top of the sheets and left first thing unshowered. Absolutely disgusting.

I've stayed at many hotels in my life, this is the very first hotel on my list of worst hotels ever. Long story short I got stuck into staying here during a layover. I literally wish I would have stayed at the airport. This place made me feel like I was in a horror movie, just waiting to be the next victim. The bathroom had dried blood in the tub and on the sink, staff was not helpful or friendly. The whole place was just filthy and smelled so terrible. I would not want anyone to stay here. Seriously, don't visit this place.

This is the worst place I've ever stayed in. Floors were dirty, sheets were stained, crusties on the sheets and pillows, hair on the floors. It was NASTY and GROSS. We even checked for bedbugs that's how gross we felt in this room. We asked for another room. Front desk showed us a 2nd and 3rd room. NO DIFFERENCE. We slept with our clothes on. The keys to both the rooms that were given to use DID NOT WORK. Taking a shower, the water turned BROWN. The tub DID NOT drain. The toilet seat WAS DIRTY!!!! I had to clean it!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Anybody who recommends this place is probably paid by management to say something nice. I checked in one morning and was told we do not accept plastic , you have to pay cash use the ATM (THAT WAY THEY DONT HAVE TO REFUND YOUR MONEY,AND YOU HAVE NO REAL RECOURSE) My room was filthy spare parts all over the room and on the other bed , halls smelled strongly of nicotine as well as pot and pancake syrup.

I stayed at this hotel the end of September me and my family. The outside really looked nice so i didnt mind. Once we got out keys and actually walk thru the hotel to our room 231 the hotel looked like the projects. Just all bad. It was the middle of the night so i just had to deal because i had two young kids with me. As i sleep i keep itching. I woke up to BED BUG BITES Over me. I called my boyfriend to come get us out this hotel i was being ate up. He came but also came back to the room with the attendant i believe his name was Abdul on duty. And showed him all my bites. He told us well you cant get a refund. I said how come we havent even been in this room for two hours. He then asked how did we pay i said i gave u my debit card. He was said oh wait my boyfriend the said ok well we have two kids can we just get another room. We had to threaten him that we would call corporate to get another room that be didnt want to give us. He went down stairs to call a manager im guessing. He said as long as we did not call corporate he would give us another room and a refund. I agreed only because i did not want to wake the kids. As we checked out first thing we talked to the managerto let them know what was going on and they told us yest the refund would be 7 days... i checked my account and they only refunded back $12. Really! First the hotel is crap and then you guys lie to the customers. Great job Motel 6!& i still have not recieved my full refund!!

There were a multitude of problems with this shady and unbelievably horrid place. Let me name the main ones:
1. The bathrooms looked like a garbage disposal. I was heavily disappointed in their lack of care.
2. There were bugs in and around the beds. Absolutely unacceptable.
3. The hallways looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. Was I supposed to feel safe?
4. The elevator could use service, as the transitions and interior could use severe maintenance.
5. The staff was rude and condescending, and would not listen to reason. I get it, it's a Motel 6, I'm not expecting diamond-tier experiences here, but do us all a favor and get over yourselves.
Please, for the love of all that's good, AVOID this place. Like the plague.

My in laws we're celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and the hall had flooding damages and mold on the carpet a night before the event. We went in to decorate it the night before and were in disbelief that nothing was communicated to us, and we had 200+ guest arriving the next day. We quickly communicated this to the front desk and were told that the owner would call us back and he never did. We rented a different hall at the last minute by a hotel owner who does know how to work a business, and moved our 200 + guest to a different hotel but unfortunately paid two halls, the hall rental from this hotel was hazardous to the respiratory health of our guest and ours. It took many many calls until I was then asked to come in and the stated that this was not his problem and that he could only give us back $300 out of the $1,500. This owner refused to give us our $1,200! Please do not lose your money and turn into his victims like we did. He has gang affiliated employees who also threaten guest who stay the night. I heard a guest yell this to the owner and he again did not care. His response to the guest was, "how about I put my (gang affiliated) employee and you together to take it out" This place is not just a joke, it's dangerous! Please stay away and be safe. Do not stay nor rent the hall and become a victim. We went for this hall rental because it was cheap and we sadly paid the consequences. I have more pics, but can't upload them due to size. We aren't a rich family and this man made a fool out of us by taking our hard work earned money.

I have stayed at many Motel 6 through the years. And this was by far the best one yet. The room was very clean. The service was absolutely amazing! The staff was quite friendly.. The Desk person was extremely informative and knowledgeable when answering the many questions I asked him about the area, since it was my first visit to the Chicagoland area. I would definitely return to this motel and always recommend this Motel 6 to my friends, family.
