Giant City State Park is great. Loved hiking there. The Lodge built by the CCC is beautiful. The dinning room was very nice and the meals were great. The cabin was very nice too for the price. We got one of the small cabins ideal for just two people. It had two queen beds that were clean and comfortable. Just...

Giant City holds a tremendous amount of memories for my entire family. Childhood picnics and drives through the forest, climbing the tower to enjoy the view, the smell of fried chicken on a Sunday, a walk along the trails, and thanking all those (including the Grandfather I sadly never met) who worked for the CCC for building this tranquil setting....

We ate at giant city lodge because of all the high reviews. I would describe this as a local version of Cracker Barrel. The fried chicken was ok but no big deal and biscuits were good but that's it. Save the money and cook at home.

Booked an event and signed no contract, was given information by the son, and then after having to cancel event (2 1/2 weeks later, after NOT being told there is a no refund policy on deposits). I was "told" what accommodations that I "could" have for my event, and not given options. Owner comes across as "allowing" you to use...

Scenic state park just south of Carbondale Illinois! My husband and I travel there once a year during different seasons to hike the rugged Forrest trails and enjoy the fried chicken family style lunch! We have been going here for over 20 years and love it every time‼️

On our way back to St. Louis from a trip to Nashville and decided to get off of the Interstate. Boy, what a find!! Striking lodge! Looks like a ski lodge in the middle of Southern Illinois! Cathedral ceiling, stone fireplace, taxidermy animals, clunky furniture...just rustic and awesome. We pretty much just stumbled upon this secret! On our way inside,...

I've gone here since I was a kid for special occasions. My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at the lodge 3 years ago and all of our out-of-town friends still rave about it. It's a nice cozy atmosphere and the food is really good. The natural scenery in the area is beautiful and it makes for an enjoyable...

My husband and I met my parents here for a long weekend. Originally my husband and I were going to camp while my parents stayed at the lodge, but the campground was over crowded and noisy, so we bailed and stayed with them. The cabin and grounds were very well maintained. My parents had no problem with the bed and...

This lodge was created by the CCC in the 30's and is in the middle of Giant City State Park. Good home style food in a lodge full of character. Beautiful wood work, stone front and walkway, and if you want to walk off your calories consumed, hike on the trails of Giant City or up the water tower for...
