Mirihi Island Resort is located on a secluded tropical island in the South Ari Atoll, approximately 85 kilometres south of the capital Male'. A picturesque and breathtaking 30 minute seaplane ride from Male will bring you here. This emerald gem is just 350 meters long and 50 meters wide with a sparkling palm-fringed beach of fine white sand as soft as powder, inviting you to leave your shoes behind for the duration of your stay. Only a few meters from the beach, the house reef awaits you with a great variety of marine life.

We returned to Mirihi 18 years after our honeymoon, after a particularly stressful period, counting on the maximum relaxation found at the time and all expectations were satisfied. Mirihi has changed in management and service staff and other elements but what has not changed is the atmosphere, identical to the one we left. You are pampered from the moment you arrive at Male' airport with an excellent welcome service that accompanies you to the beautiful dedicated Lounge while waiting for your seaplane transport. You can recover from the long flight from Italy, impeccably clean bathrooms, Nespresso coffee for the joy of us Italian drink lovers and any other sweet or savory snacks and drinks. The seaplane flight lasts less than half an hour, a splendid view of the atolls from the sky and then the welcome ritual begins and from that moment you become the object of attention and care from the staff and all the resort staff, all very kind. It is not easy to find the utmost kindness from the staff to the kitchens, to the waiters, to the room boys and yet here everyone with the same very high level of care and kindness for the guests, mostly German and Swiss as in 2006 even if we found Italians who they were non-existent at the time. Always the same atmosphere, relaxation, transparent water and talcum powder sand, excellent food both in the buffet restaurant and in the Muraka a la carte, excellent Spa, beautiful excursions to choose from. Food: eaten very well at the buffet, choosing from a lot of variety, special mention to the grilled fish, the artisanal ice cream and some desserts, in particular those suggested by Don, a friendly chef with whom we spoke as Italian ice cream experts. The dessert of the Arabian evening and the unforgettable butterfly pea flower ice cream, among the best ever eaten so far. The lobster evening at Muraka was excellent accompanied by excellent wines. Relax: snorkeling around the island nice but outdated of the specific excursion where you see beautiful areas and even more fish, also saw turtles Excursion: manta rays and whale shark, both seen, exciting but ruined by the lack of rules that the Maldives will have to adopt sooner or later. You can't have dozens of boats all together and swim between fins that come at you and blows that you have to dodge by swimming into the fray, you need rules. The show, however, pays off, beautiful and exciting Spa: I had a massage, which was also unforgettable We had a few days of rain and our overwater facing north allowed us to see and hear the ocean waves, an experience that has never happened in January in the Maldives but luckily the weather changes often. The cleaning of our overwater villa took place twice a day, precise and impeccable room boys, excellent cleaning Except for a few discordant notes of the weather, not related to Mirihi, we had a fantastic stay, as exciting as in 2006, unforgettable! Unique As you!

Our trip to Mirihi Island from April 4th to April 17th, 2024 was an unforgettable experience. We had the pleasure of staying in one of the gorgeous open water bungalows, which far exceeded our expectations.
Accommodation: The open water bungalows offer breathtaking views of the crystal clear water and direct access to the lagoon. The facilities were luxurious yet cozy. We enjoyed relaxing on our private terrace and admiring the spectacular sunrises. The cleanliness and daily service were first class, and the staff were always friendly and helpful.
Diving experience: During our stay we made 35 dives - a highlight of our vacation. The diving center on Mirihi is excellently organized and the guides are experienced and very professional. The diving spots around the island are incredibly diverse and offer an impressive underwater world. From colorful coral reefs to encounters with turtles, manta rays and sharks - every dive was an adventure in itself.
Culinary: The culinary offering on Mirihi is diverse and exquisite. Every day we were spoiled with fresh, local and international dishes. Particularly worthy of mention is the restaurant "Muraka", which impresses not only with its location above the water, but also with its excellent fish and seafood menu. The breakfast buffet offered a rich selection and the theme evenings in the main restaurant provided varied culinary delights.
Conclusion: Our time on Mirihi was paradise. The combination of luxurious accommodation, first-class service, fantastic diving opportunities and excellent gastronomy makes this island a perfect holiday destination. We can fully recommend a stay on Mirihi and are already looking forward to returning one day.
This vacation not only brought us closer to the beauty of the Maldives, but also gave us unforgettable experiences and wonderful memories.

It's been our 4th time on beautiful Mirihi as it has everything that we are looking for for a relaxing vacation. You can leave your shoes at home as this is a barefoot island with powdery sand everywhere. Every employee is so friendly and kind, it feels like coming home every time!
We stayed at a water villa (No. 29), which is probably the furthest away from reception, restaurant etc. That means, you have a beautiful view over the ocean (sunrise) and only see a couple of snorkelers during the day who swim past your villa. You can also get into the turqouise, warm water straight from your villa and enjoy the beautiful house reef. The villa itself could be slightly bigger and has aged a little but it has everything you need including complimentary water and cookies. Housekeeping does a superb job, everything is very clean and tidy. It's important to mention that the team most of the time cleaned our room when we were having breakfast or dinner. That way we were never disturbed when we were in our villa!
The food - oh gosh, what can I say! It's off the charts! Felix and his team do an amazing job. Every dish is special and cooked/prepared with so much attention to detail it's simply amazing! Be prepared to put yourself on a diet after you return home! The buffet is beautifully decorated with the ingredients of the dishes on display, which adds a very nice touch! Our favourite was the Maldivian night because you were able to taste all the wonderful curries and specialties that the Maldives have to offer. During breakfast you have so much to choose from, including a cooking station where you can order any egg dish you like.
The scuba diving is also an experience! The Ocean Pro Team offers 2-tank dives in the morning and 1-tank dives in the afternoon. Be prepared for wonderful coral reefs, a lot of fishes, turtles, rays etc - if you are lucky you also get to see manta rays or whalesharks. If you are interested in further scuba diving certification, the team also offers that. Everyone (dive masters, boat team) is super friendly and you can tell that they enjoy their jobs.
Mirihi is being refurbished in 2025 so we are unfortunately unlikely coming back next year, but we'll definitely come back!

Diver/Repeater Island: Mirihi is representative of the typical original flair of a small and fine Maldivian island. It embodies everything that the mainly more established European clientele expects: lots of peace and quiet!, no TV, no pool, formidable buffet food, an individually trained team with a professional service mentality, a committed diving school, an exclusive SPA, which conveys the feeling of unique freedom despite the small size of the island, a house reef on the south side (mooring jetty) that is slowly recovering from El Niño 2016. Here you can happily see many small corals growing back between the coral breakage. These are reasons why the majority of the (mainly German-speaking) guests here are often repeaters. Despite the praise, a few thoughts complement the overall impression: As mentioned, the additional costs are subjectively felt to be very high, regardless of whether you think of drinks, SPA or similar. There is currently a significant erosion problem, so attempts are being made in many places to remedy the situation using plastic sandbags including a mobile sand pump: with the usual consequences that these eventually dissolve or mobilize and do not contribute positively to the ecology. There is no swimmable lagoon, you should be aware of this before booking. The biggest downside is the fact that you cannot snorkel directly on the entire north side (where the northern water bungalows are lined up and the beach bungalows are lined up to the west) except exactly (!) at high tide, because you can hardly or not directly(!) get to the reef edge over the entire northern reef roof. The north side is the much less damaged house reef side, with many large table corals, among other things. Especially in conjunction with the location of the sought-after, better-positioned eastern water bungalows, bungalow requests made in advance rarely help, as these are understandably in demand from repeaters just as much and are also more likely to be given to them. All in all, we had a wonderful break in the Indian Ocean!

We have just had a wonderful barefoot, tranquil 9 idyllic nights at Mirihi to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
We booked through Jo at Angelfish who is our go to travel agent for Maldive holidays.
In our opinion Mirihi is the epitome of the perfect unspoilt Maldivian island.
Arriving and walking along the jetty is a pinch me moment, seeing the perfect island and beautiful lagoon is quite emotional.
The service is incredible, all the staff genuinely did everything they could to make our stay perfect.
The food was way beyond expectations, and the full board plus package gave us everything we needed and more!
Drinking sunset cocktails at Muraka, watching the sun go down and the fish jump while listening to Mohamed sing with his acoustic guitar was just so special, and something we will never forget.
There is no getting away from the fact that the beach rooms are basic. They could really do with updating. Extra lighting and better storage and bathroom redesign is all that’s needed. The rooms are lovingly maintained and spotlessly cleaned every day. We had room 3 (again) which has the most beautiful secluded beachfront garden.
The spa is also basic but has a stunning location and the entrance is lovely and tropical. The two spa ladies worked their magic during our massages so much that we returned three times.
We would have booked more excursions, but they are eye wateringly expensive. This is the only negative we could say about the holiday. Reducing the cost would make the experience much better and allow us to do more excursions. $50 pp ++ to go to the house reef you can almost swim to is just to expensive.
Ultimately, it’s the people on Mirihi that made our time so special, especially:
Our room boy Shihan was the nicest and mostly friendly room boy who’s cleaning is excellent.
The “egg man” aka “Maldvian Mr Bean!” was always full of joy and made fantastic egg Benedict’s for us even though they are not on the menu.
Our favourite bar waiter is Sudath he was always sincere and gentle, he always made sure we were having a wonderful evening and knew our drinks after the first night.
Mohamed the waiter serving sunset drinks on Muraka was always very friendly and very smiley, and again knew what we wanted after the first day.
The lovely housekeeping Manager Pawan was extremely friendly and caring when we needed our power restored. He always stopped for a chat when he saw us passing.
Our thanks also go to Roman for his fantastic hospitality and keeping us entertained, Roman is a real credit to the island and he has a bright future ahead in hosptality.
Mirhi will forever have a very special place in our hearts, its such a perfect island....we hope it never changes.

We were able to spend two unforgettable weeks with our daughter and son on your beautiful island. You have created a refuge here that is second to none! The signature is unmistakable, the term luxury is redefined here! The consistent renunciation of things like swimming pools, TV, omnipresent background music, evening programs led by a compérencier, jet skis, etc. gives our senses the space they need to fully absorb and enjoy the essence of this beautiful place! Two weeks of informality, always and everywhere barefoot and without a fancy dress code!
The stylish and very tastefully unpretentious decor, furnishings and plants run like a common thread through all areas. Fortunately, we were able to book our Water Suite ten months in advance. Just the right accommodation for the four of us. We particularly enjoyed the large, shared terrace above the endless sea. The friendly, attentive Firas always made a lot of effort to keep our suite super clean and to fulfill our wishes, so that we didn't lack for anything! Thank you very much Firas! And that brings me to another piece of the puzzle of this unique concept, the 160-strong workforce who ensure the constant well-being of the 80 guests. You have managed to shape the employees into a competent, friendly team over the years. Team spirit is highly valued here. Everyone seems to be happy to be able to work here with you. This is also evidenced by the numerous stickers with the years of service, "10+", "15+" or even "20+", which are worn with pride on the shirt! The employees' football tournament and the occasional dance and singing performances by the employees show me how team building and motivation work! The outstanding Swiss chef Felix Bamert, who has led his thirty-strong kitchen team to extraordinary top performances of culinary skill over many years, obviously has mastered this too. As a person who enjoys good food, I normally avoid going to the buffet as much as possible. But the fact that not all buffets are the same is celebrated here every day with great attention to detail and the highest quality. When asked about this, Felix replies dryly: "Yes, we can do it!" This is not an empty phrase, but rather a deeply lived commitment and the unconditional will to constantly improve! Of course, with all of these delicacies, the appropriate wine accompaniment is a must. Shafraz, or Sappe, as we may call him, is on hand as a sommelier with his expert recommendations and recommends the right wine from his treasure cellar every evening! The multiple 90-minute full-body massages by the Duniye spa team will also remain unforgettable. Pure relaxation, a pleasant opportunity to internalize the unique underwater experiences on the "house reef" in peace and quiet.
The numerous "repeaters" prove that our assessment is correct.
Our vacation is now over, but the dream is far from over! - Until next time!
With kind regards from Lisa, Caja and Moritz
Frank Schneider

We spent a total of four weeks on Mirihi and enjoyed every day again! We particularly like that Mirihi has remained a barefoot island and the shoes stay in the closet all holiday. Mirihi is one of the few islands that has largely preserved the original Maldives charm and still offers excellent quality. The entire Mirihi team is extremely friendly, attentive and helpful.
The great, varied food inspired us again. The staff knows the wishes after a short time and serves with pleasure!
We were there daily on the dive trips and were supervised by a great, professional diving and boat crew. The dives are excellently discussed in advance. Diving is done in small dive teams together with a guide. Compliments to the super motoved guides!
Will we come back? Sure!

One of our favorite islands out of the 12 tested in the Maldives because everything is perfect welcome upon arrival at the airport with private lounge and a charming hostess, attention from all the staff, well-being, warm atmosphere, calm, comfort of the bungalows, diving sites with manta rays and whale shark nearby, the quality of the very safe diving club and its staff with special mention to Sameer, superb house reef, flour sand all over the island and delicious gastronomic buffets worthy of a star. We can't wait to find this little paradise again.

As always, the reception at Male airport was very friendly and the transfer to the local airport was very quick. The fact that we then had to wait over 2 hours for the connecting flight is certainly due to the organization by the local airline.
The reception on the island was warm and personal. As there were four of us on holiday, we opted for the 2-storey beach villa with two bedrooms. On the ground floor there was a bedroom with a bathroom that had seen better days, and a large room next to it. This was "furnished" with a room divider, a beanbag and a sofa (and definitely did not match the images on the homepage!). On the upper floor there was another bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a kitchen with a dining and living area and a beautiful, large terrace. Overall, the villa was fine, but seemed a bit improvised and in need of renovation.
Like almost all islands in the Maldives, Mirihi struggles with changing climatic conditions and the resulting changes in currents. Is this a reason for the massive growth of algae in the lagoon and near the beach? In any case, swimming in it was not much fun. If you then also smelled a slight smell reminiscent of a sewage treatment plant between Muraka and the beach, the fun was over.
The quality of the gastronomy remains excellent. Felix Bamert and his team spoiled us every day to a very high standard. Even after 9 days, the dishes were only marginally repeated and whether you were a meat or fish lover or a vegetarian - there were culinary highlights for everyone every day. The daily changing themed buffets were not only a delight for the palate - the always careful, loving and imaginative presentation was also a delight to the eye.
Shafraz, the great sommelier, Roman, who is responsible for the F&B, and the entire restaurant team looked after us very well during our stay.
It is the long-standing employees who still make up the spirit of Mirihi today!
And yes, I know the concept - I don't need a TV or a pool on vacation. But if management doesn't take action now and doesn't resolve the obvious backlog of renovations in a timely manner, I don't see Mirihi's future as very rosy.
We will always remember Mirihi fondly and hope that today's management also accepts critical but constructive comments.

We enjoyed our stay at Mirihi enormously! We felt at home from the very first moment. The General Manager Alexa Viola Stoschek and her team fulfilled every wish and made the vacation a dream vacation. We particularly liked the small size of the island, that there was no TV and no pool. This led to a particularly calm atmosphere and a complete return to nature. Guests can relax optimally from the hectic everyday life and work stress. Immersing yourself in the beautiful nature as a rare luxury was complemented and underlined by the luxury offered by the culinary offerings. Every evening there are different appetizers for an aperitif at sunset in the most beautiful ambience. Afterwards there is a dinner prepared by culinary excellence and presented personally by the Swiss head chef Felix. The meal is served with tablecloths under the open starry sky with torch lighting. The Mirihi is probably the only resort with tablecloths in the Maldives and unfortunately nowadays also one of the few hotels/restaurants in the world with tablecloths. The rooms are very nice with a view of the sea from the bed and the bathroom; and we were able to dive into the water and snorkel straight from the terrace. We even slept outside on the comfortable, beautiful wooden loungers on the large terrace. The diving team is doing an enormous amount of work to rebuild the colorful coral reef by "growing" hundreds of corals in their "free time" and "planting" them in the reef. Warm regards to the general manager Alexa, Carmen, the head chef Felix, Roman, F&B manager, the "wine manager", Danuska, the yoga teacher, the spa team (extremely professional, especially for sports massages), the diving team and the great soccer team (our son played soccer with the staff for 1.5 hours every day; at a very high level).

Hello,
We actually preferred the beach villas to the overwater villa.
More space to move around, and just walk out of your villa , straight onto the beach.
Definitely, if possible, go for the lower numbers, closest to the restaurant jetty.Unfortunately we were given the highest number ( despite requesting the lowest )
They give priority to the requests of returners, so if you are not happy when you arrive, do raise it straight away, in case they can improve on your allocation.
Good luck, and enjoy.
Dear Linda
Greetings from Mirihi - as unique as you!
Please accept our sincere apologies for the late answer.
Full Board includes the Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in form of a buffet in our main restaurant Dhonveli. In case you decide to dine some nights in our over-water a-la-carte restaurant Muraka, you would be credited a 30% on the food menu when you are on mealplan.
Water is complementary on the entire island, in all outlets as well as in the rooms and during diving and excursions.
Kind regards
Anica Roch
Resident Manager & the entire Mirihi Team
Dear Maldives Traveller,
unfortunately I have no idea, what that speedboat trip would cost. How about if you ask at Mirhi directly.
I loved Mirihi, the very friendly staff, the excellent cuisine under the guidance of a Swiss chef, the whole atmosphere, it was a dream. And being able to see so many fish while snorkling just around our hut, that was an incredible experience. If you love exclusive top luxury, if it is important for you to be seen and admired, important to meet billionaires, Mirihi would not be the right place for you. Mirhi is pretty small, therefore very peacful, at least it was when we were there, but the place was by far not fully booked, when we visitied. For me however it is already clear, when visiting the Maldives again, I will first contact Mirhi.
Yes that is possible, you can even swim around the Island with a little care and when the water is the highest Snorkling is great, diving even better. (about diving that is what my friends said who are diving all around the world)
There are more places to choose from in the Mirihi area.
