I’m an over the road truck driver. I needed a place to stay for my 34 hour reset. The only local truck stop was full, so I looked online and found The Regal Inn. Much to my surprise, they have truck parking (tractor only) so I decided to book a room for two days. Upon my arrival, I immediately parked my truck and went to check in. The young lady working the front desk was very polite and very accommodating. When I asked if my truck was OK where it’s at she simply replied. “Yes, your truck is fine.”
My room was great! Clean and very comfortable. First thing I noticed was there were no broken fixtures and no burned out lights, everything worked just the way it was supposed to. The room had a small refrigerator that was working and a small microwave oven too, heat things as well as a fairly good size television.
The next thing I noticed was how quiet it was. There were no people hanging out in the parking lot, running up and down the walkways, and there was no loud music. So this made for very relaxing time.
There were plenty of places nearby to shop and dine, Denny’s was located right across the street. Not only that but O’Hare International Airport is less than 5 miles away which makes this a prime location.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling thru Chicago.

We enjoyed our stay. The room smelled fresh. It was clean. Everything worked as it should. The reception was great; she even made fresh coffee two hours early because I was dying to have a coffee. Internet in our upstairs corner room was intermittent but they are apparently working on fixing that. The beds were comfortable but creaky; not sure what can be done about that. Adds to the adventure. Having a coffee maker in the room would be nice but they have fresh brewed coffee from 5am in the lobby so I guess that covers it. We would come again. The price and location are great! Really close to restaurants and not far from the airport (<$20).

I booked us online a couple weeks ago. The property is very nice and clean. The staff was very very nice. Fresh coffee they even let us check in early because we were on the road for 14 hours and check-in wasn’t until three we got in at noon. Would recommend A++

My husband and I left with a bad taste for this hotel. When you get there you are informed you need to pay a cash deposit of $50 in case of damages. They said housekeeping would check your room prior to checking out and your deposit would be returned. They have an ATM machine with a $3 charge if you have no cash on you (which we had to use). The morning we left I returned the key and the lady said nothing about returning my deposit, I had to ASK HER. She then gave me the money back, but housekeeping had never even checked our room!! So this is clearly a farce and I was given the impression they HOPE people forget they left a deposit and then it would be difficult to get the money back later since the deposit was not allowed to be given via credit card. We do not appreciate being treated like fools, so despite the fact the room was nice and a good value for today's prices, we will not be returning to this hotel if we ever again have the misfortune to pass through here.

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Sorry for the confusion, we take deposit for all guest that do not have a history coming to our hotel for incidental damages. We do have guest that come often, and we will only take a card and out it on file for these guests in case of emergencies. The morning shift person and afternoon/night shift person are 3 completely different people. The morning shift person won’t know that you left a deposit unless you mention it. Very very rarely we do have guest that forget their deposit but we do hold it for them, we call the guest to inform them they forgot their deposit and we can hold it for 24 hours for them before it is given to management. Sorry for the misunderstanding on your end, we wish you would have mentioned this during your check out and we could have cleared things up for you.

The room was fairly clean, though there were some spots on the carpet that looked like food residue that could and should have been cleaned. Bathroom was very clean. The pillows were too loosely stuffed for my liking but that may just be personal preference. My biggest issue was with the lack of enforcement of the no smoking rules in the hallway and nonsmoking rooms. Both marijuana and tobacco smells were common and it really subtracted from my experience.

Numerous supposedly positive reviews of this poor hotel are hyped. Avoid room #137. Its a run-down room; the curtain is thread-bare, the chair is worn out; the water pressure is weak. Inspect the room assigned to you closely including the water pressure for bath and shower before you unpack. Ask for another room if you are dissatisfied with the first that was offered.
Book at a better hotel closer to the airport even if you add another $20-$40.

Really close to airport. Looks shady from outside but fine inside. Clean room and comfortable bed. Staff were nice. There's restaurants and bars nearby too so handy if you're just off a flight and need somewhere to crash

Shout out to the night manager who provided great friendly Customer Service. This Hotel is a Diamond in the Rough. Never judge a book by its cover. This location is conservating in appearance, but the Business suite is spacious and clean and well-suited for the business traveler who is looking for a great value that is close to the O' Here airport. I will be back when I need to stay on the Northside of Chicago.

I spent one night here to wait to pick someone up the next morning at O'Hare. I would say that this motel was a very decent budget motel. The rooms while small, they were clean and comfortable, and the fridge, microwave and TV all worked. The lady at the front desk was friendly and efficient both during check-in and check-out the next morning. My only negative comment is I don't like the 4 tiny pillows on the bed but prefer two large ones. While not a 3 or 4 star motel, I would consider it towards the top of the 2 star motels. I would stay here again should the need arise.

Good atmosphere and clean. The room was really large with a lower price. When they say don't judge a book by its cover, this applies to this wonderful hotel. The service, the staff and the management go to the extended level to ensure that you are satisfied and happy. This is my home when I am in Chicago.
