Detailed Reviews
I came to southern Illinois to work. I generally like a motel with out the door parking, a quiet neighborhood, friendly staff, a good air conditioner when needed and a clean room. I found the Red Carpet Inn by the freeway sign. They had a weekly rate, the room had a king size bed, a microwave and a small refrigerator. The owner is friendly and is willing to share his life experiences. He was born in India and he has a wife and two children. He has brought his parents to the United States for an easier life. They all love the USA and are thrilled with their chances to improve their life. opportunities are everywhere. As a person born in the USA I find it refreshing to meet people who aren't complaining about our great nation and are glad to be here. It shows me again what a great melting pot we have here. Reminds me of soup, The more ingredients you add the better the flavor.

This hotel is near the town I grew up. While not up to date in its furnishings, it makes up for this with being clean and having a comfortable bed. Not many hotels give you a king sized bed for this rate. While wifi would be a nice amenity, there was satellite TV. The customer service was good and there were plenty of clean towels - not something that's always easy to find (even at more expensive hotels.) I would easily stay here again in the future.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past, and while it is an older building it is clean and quiet. I had a refrigerator and microwave in my room which was great because since I was there for 5 nights I could cut costs by eating in my room. The customer service is good, and I even got directions from the staff for a restaurant in town. I am planning to go back in the next few months, and I will stay there again.

My husband and I stayed there on Sept 13th for an overnight, while we were traveling across the country. The price was very good, the beds comfortable, rooms clean. It was perfect for a good night's sleep and shower. Also included was a frig and microwave. The manager was extremely helpful, and very pleasant. He was very attentive to us, his motel, the rooms, and has built a lovely garden area. As he told us, his place is not a fancy place, but it is a work in progress. I would definitely stay again when passing through. Another plus was a family restaurant called Austin's Restaurant within a short walk of the motel. Excellent homemade, and reasonably priced delicious food. We had dinner there that evening, and breakfast the next morning. This motel was a good find.

My husband and I went to see my Son And grandchildren for there birthday and wanted to stay close well 1st off got a lecture how TERRIBLE the town was to the owner and he was complaining the whole time made me a little scared with the ranting and raving won't go into the old rooms and poor TV. Then when left he told us to never come back as he thought we had somehow let everyone in our family stay the night which was untrue screamed at my husband and kept asking me to roll down my car window to yell something at me I refused!! This owner is not from America and it shows in his manner. I was never so glad to leave a hotel in my life!!! I am 63 years old and stayed in many hotels in my life and NEVER EVER gotten screamed at like this...... This man is SCARY!!!!!!!!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!

Allow me to apologize as you did not enjoy your stay with us. However, this is the first I am hearing of your experience. Here at the Red carpet Inn, we take our jobs serious. We treat our customers like family, and like to ensure they have the best possible experience while staying with us. If you experienced a stay as you mentioned above, I would like to think you would have notified us, so we could have looked into the issues for you. I'm sorry your stay was anything less then perfect and we hope in the future you would bring these to the attention of management, to allow them to correct any problems.

Hard to imagine anything worse than this. There was an inch and a half gap at the bottom of the door. I had to shove the towels into the gap to make sure rodents didn't enter the room while I was sleeping. There were 3 lights in the room. The one by the tv had a burnt out bulb. The one closest to the bed had no bulb at all. The other light had a broken switch. Air con/heat was missing the knobs making it impossible to set temp. No outlets to plug in chargers unless you move furniture. Wifi was horrible. Only stayed because there was a terrible rain storm that made driving dangerous.

A terrible place to stay. Old, unkempt, in poor repair, lights non-functional (no manual switches-only light switch at door). Old awful quality TV, AC unit working but all directional vents missing, sink faucet quite loose. First room they tried to give me had no deadbolt or inside security latch ("we've never had any problems in 19 years") so I demanded a different room. In short, don't even consider this place.

thank you sir, its took while to find your record but, we appology for inconenience ...this hotel used by millions so far from 50 years and we are unable to fullfill every diff requirements ...after so many efforts to give you best ..we come to this conclusion that its been built, furnished and fixed so many times that ...guest dont care about amnities and the fellow guest damaged and its been hard to explain everyone howto use public accomodations ...and after all its your best choice so far...we proude to serve in 20 miles radius ..there is no motels left on traffic like 20000/day ....so we leave it to you to decide ...if you care
