Merweville is 42km off the N1 between Laingsburg and Leeu Gamka, roughly 350km from Cape Town. We took the turn off at Prins Albert Road to Merweville (fully tarred) and after entering the town, took a right where the road forks. Beautiful and calm surroundings. Rooms are excellent - clean and very well made. Self Catering but with fully equiped kitchen and indoors braai within arms distance from where we slept. Will recommend a stay at Springbock lodge any day.

Typical Karoo value, and ambiance. Leave your city style at home and enjoy the Karoo hospitality. Remember to book your meal in advance, if you are not going to self cater. We booked and a great Karoo meal that could feed the town. Bring own wine.

We went to Merweville for the well known Dankfees. We were the 1st visitors to stay in the Springbok Lodge's new camping site. We were 11 families together. What a great time we had in this charming little town. The locals are extremely friendly.

Thank Dirmu G
