We stayed at Chadelao Garh the first two nights of our trip in Rajasthan. Initially we were allocated a room (room no 3) close to the gate. The room looked fine, but soon it became apparent that via a window the room is connected to a staff quarter. We were tired from our trip but couldn't sleep as the staff...

As part of a month long photographic holiday in northern India we stayed 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner, his family and staff. The grounds are beautiful and our room spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for the large suitcases and stack of camera gear we were travelling with....

One of the best properties I have ever stayed - 37 km East of Jodhpur. A 270 year old heritage hotel. Pradyuman Singh, a wonderful host. Parrots, peacocks all around the place. You get up in the morning to the chirping of the birds. You will love to interact with the villagers around the hotel. Just laze around the whole...

If you are looking for a place away from all the hustle and bustle of the cities and away from the usual crowd then Chandelao Garh is the place for you. I stayed there for a night to break my journey from Jaiselmer to Delhi and it turned out to be the best part of my trip. The place is...

While the resort is located at a distance of about 40 kms from Jodhpur, one can take a conscious call to still opt for this resort for the uniqueness of the resort. The red sandstone rooms are not only spacious from inside but also provide ample seating space just outside the rooms to enjoy a cool breeze or relax besides...

Fantastic village stay in a heritage hotel. Clean and big rooms, nice food, very co-operative staff and best of all - a very polished and humble host - Mr. Pradhuman Singh - the owner. Value for money. There is peace and tranquility. Located in the midst of Chandelao vilage. The hotel is luxurious as well. Enjoyed my 2 night stay....

My wife and I had a relaxed time in this beautiful place. The history and traditions of this region are on full display with locals welcoming you into their houses, demonstrating their crafts and inviting you to join their local customs. The constant pressure to buy items is absent here with the locals and guides constantly reminding you not to...

We had a great and relaxed time here. The atmosphere is very laid back and the experience is luxurious. Food is fantastic and the service is great. we also made two safari trips which were pricey compared to rates in the city, but we had the guide, jeep and driver for ourselves and it was fantastic (do bring woollies in...

This is a great place to enjoy the desert environment in comfort. I had a very clean room in the converted stables: it was really a suite including a bedroom with two comfortable beds, a large bathroom with modern fittings, aircon and fans (not needed in December), good hot water and a beautiful carved wardrobe. There was a kettle but...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Experience the “real” India with a visit to Chandelao Garh. Only 40 km from bustling Jodhpur, this highly rated hotel will enfold you in a different world – the world of the rulers of Rajasthan in a traditional village. Majestic Chandelao Garh is the ancestral home of the landowners of the area, and has been tastefully converted to a modern hotel. But do not expect telephones and televisions – the Garh will provide you with an authentic experience of traditional Rajasthani hospitality in a tranquil village setting. Rooms are tastefully decorated with period furniture, while providing 21st century comfort. The kitchen presents the flavours of traditional Rajasthani cuisine in impeccable style using local produce and spices. The well- kept hotel grounds are filled with flowers and the sounds of peacocks and parrots. Enjoy an evening on the terrace with a drink from the well-stocked bar. A stroll round the village will bring you face to face with the sights and sounds of village India – local craftsmen and women ply their trade, animals graze, women in colourful native dress fetch water from the wells and lakes, children play in the street and everyone welcomes visitors with a friendly greeting. Escape the hubbub of the cities and enjoy the tranquility of Indian village life. ... more   less
