Clean and comfortable room in Wicker Park away from the hustle and bustle of the Miracle Mile. Nice location if you are visiting in this area. There is a concierge but I never saw her. They don't enter your room during the stay so there is no maid service unless you ask for it. They provide access to a nice...

I wanted to stay in Wicker Park to be walking distance to my son's apartment, as well as numerous shops, restaurants and bars. The location was perfect. It is different than a hotel. You check in at the Spa and they show you to your room. Be warned that you have to climb either 3 or 4 stories to get...

This wonderful little Inn is a few short blocks from the Division Station off the Blue Line. It was the perfect size with a great bathroom and very clean. The stairs are a bit rough inside, but the back fire escape ones are much easier to navigate. The neighborhood is awesome with many, many cool shops and restaurants nearby. We...

If you are looking for a room at a reasonable rate in the Wicker Park area close to the Blue line( 10 mins. to downtown) with lots of good restaurants and tavern options this would be a good choice if you willing to settle for a very basic room. The rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floors with no...

This place is a gem in Wicker Park. No thrills rooms let you live in a wonderful neighborhood where you will find more interesting restaurants and shops than downtown. Best parts: The Mana food bar across the street and the Arcade Emporium just up the street sporting the original Addams Family pinball!

I enjoyed the location in Wicker Park and the free parking, but only chose this location because the Wicker Park Inn was booked when I stayed in early September. I stayed in the Garden Suite 4D. PROS: 1. Free parking- I had no problem finding parking around 4pm on a weekday afternoon, but my boyfriend who came later (around 8...

Had a recent business trip to Chicago/Wicker Park, so chose to stay again at the Ruby Room Inn. Love the simple way they handle things here- the rooms are super clean and well appointed, the service is there if you ask but not in your face if you don't. They ensure you are covered, but allow you to enjoy the...

This place was nice and quiet but close to a lot of good restaurants and bars. Wicker Park is a great place if you want to be close to the city by train, but is in older kinda hipster district. We just used this place for a one night getaway, the staff was friendly and once we checked in we...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"Best in the City" - Chicago Magazine.Ruby Room Hotel & Spa is one of Chicago's most unique overnight destinations. Just 8 minutes from downtown, in the heart of historic Wicker Park's restaurant, shopping and nightlife scene.Modeled in the European tradition, Ruby Room is neither a hotel nor a traditional B&B. Our concept is that of relaxation. By design, we do not offer telephones or televisions. We do not offer 24 hour reception or bellman services. We make a practice of not entering your room during your stay, unless requested. Ruby Room is a historic property and does not offer an elevator. Please keep this in mind, if you or any of your guests have a challenge with mobility. What we do offer are outrageously comfortable pillow top mattresses with 500 thread count linens, large marble and glass showers, 4 of which are equipped with commercial steam units along with complimentary AVEDA products. Crown molding and fine woodworking throughout. Modern furniture peppered with antiques, new community kitchen, gorgeous garden with waterfall and all a part of a day spa, hair salon, yoga studio, two retail boutiques, 5,000 square foot health club and a serene healing sanctuary. If you're looking for something super clean and relaxing, we offer a restful room attached to a unique spa in a super cool neighborhood. Your peace is our passion. ... more   less
