At first, I was thinking I was going to smell smoke and just be in a dirty room. Boy was I surprise, Diane the front desk clerk is so charming and helpful, she was training a beautiful young lady who smile was great. When I got in room 302 oh I was in heaven. The room was beautiful and smell...

The staff at Amber Inn were very friendly, the rooms were ok, very very basic, loud plastic covers on the beds and paper thin sheets. No refrigerator/shampoo/hair dryer/wifi etc. But the restaurant next store is AMAZING southern food - Pearl's Place with great old soul/jazz posters. The subway is very close and convenient as well. But the area where the...

We got there late at night after booking online and not knowing Chicago enough to know it is a TERRIBLE AREA!! staff was nice enough to not give me trouble when I said i didn't want to pay for 3 nights in advance... Room was old and dirty. Ran away the next morning. Their restaurant next door, Pearl's, is kinda...

I booked over the internet and did not see the other reviews until after I had already booked. At first I was REALLY leery about staying, that was until I got there. While it is an older motel and the area isn't perfect this is NOT a bad place. The area is in the process of revitalization. The service was...

I booked over the internet knowing that it would be "basic". Be warned, the hotel is old, run down, dirty and in a bad neighbourhood- even the cabs couldn`t believe I was staying here. But it is cheap, close to the convention center and the reception is friendly.

The worst hotel in America, dirtiest rooms I have ever seen, the lights did not work, oh and hope you didn't actually want to watch tv. When the locals ask you where your staying, and they respond with oh the hooker hotel, not a good thing unless your into that. One thing that might have been handy was a complimentary...

this was a very interesting place that we stayed at during out trip. We arrived here at around 3am due to a horrible crash on the i-80. There was plenty of parking but a very shifty feel to the place and area. Whist waiting for the gentleman infront of us to check in, we over heard his conversation which wasn't...

In June of this year we were on our way to Toronto, On. Canada by car, and wanted to spend 3 days visiting Chicago, IL, since we had never been there. We booked the 3 days at this motel as it was shown to be near a Subway line to and from downtown Chicago and also had no idea how...

Beautiful enclosed hotel. If you're looking to save a couple bucks, this is the place. Great, I mean, GREAT customer service. The owner treated us like her own family. She said if we would choose to stay here again, she would upgrade us to the suite, for the same value as a one bedroom!!!! Definitely will stay here in the...

If you are looking for value....then look no further. This isn't a hotel but a motel. Looks great in pictures on the outside but wait till you walk up to courtyard/parking lot. This appears to be a very scary side of town. The rooms were straight from 1960. The saving grace was Pearl's, the diner attached to the hotel. I...
