Nestled in the heart of downtown Chicago, the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago receives accolades for its sumptuous amenities, from a lavish spa and fitness center to family-friendly features. It has been an incredible experience, from check-in to check-out.
Starting at the check-in desk, the receptionist was very knowledgeable, kind and, since we arrived around 11:30 and the room that we booked wasn’t ready (check-in was supposed to be at 15:00), he offered an option either to keep the bags for us, so we can start enjoying our stay in Chicago, either to upgrade to a suite for a decent amount and give us the room straight away.
The room attendants were coming twice a day, and there was one particular room attendant that caught my attention, although I haven’t even seen her at all, her name is Seret, which exceeds expectations by little details. For example, we went to dine in the restaurant downstairs, we came back in the room in about 1 hour and we found again everything spotless, she left extra water, our watches were placed on a piece of soft cloth (branded with the hotel name), my ring was placed on a soft jewelry pouch (as well branded with the hotel name), next to each side of the bed there were earplugs and pillow mist, together with a message and the white noise device. Well done!
The SPA experience is also unforgettable, the pleasant smell feels throughout the place, the personnel is very kind and upbeat, made us feel welcome every single visit.
The restaurant at the lobby serves an amazing food! Compliments to the chef! The personnel is very knowledgeable in regards to anything that they are serving, be it food or drinks. Whenever they have the chance, they address you by name, they also introduce themselves from the first interaction with you.

My husband and I have been to Chicago a few times and have always wanted to stay in a hotel with a view of Lake Michigan, so we sprung for the Four Seasons and it was totally worth the cost. We arrived in the morning and were very pleased to be allowed an early checkin. The valet who parked our car and the bellman who helped with our bags were friendly and helpful. The young man at the front desk was a sheer delight. For the price, the bathroom was fairly generic (single sink, shower/tub combo), though the whole space was clean, comfortable and elegant. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens and there were thoughtful amenities like robes and slippers. However, we came for the lake view and it fully delivered. We were delighted! Breakfast at the hotel restaurant in the morning was high priced but very good and service was gracious. Checkout was simple and again the fellow on duty was terrific.

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons on Thanksgiving weekend while visiting our daughter. What a wonderful experience ! From the moment we arrived, the whole front desk team was so welcoming and accommodating to us. Our room had a beautiful view of the city, the most comfortable pillows ever, Nespresso and a sound machine to fall asleep by and the great housekeeping team made sure we had everything we needed . We are looking forward to coming back at Easter and in our view there is no other place to stay in Chicago that equals the Four Seasons !

I hadn't read reviews before we came because I had stayed here and at other Four Seasons and thought I knew what to expect. Had I read them, I would have been even more disappointed.
The pre-arrival text was nice, I asked for 2 simple appropriate requests for our room, they said of course, they would do those things routinely. I won't bore you with the details, but that request wasn't done, "our sincerest apologies", yet then it still wasn't done the next night. It became almost comical at that point. It never did get done correctly. No idea what the 'children's welcome amenity' is as we never saw it. Asked for an extra blanket, was told they were all in the laundry...seriously?
The good parts: all staff were friendly and polite, valet staff were personable and efficient. Housekeeping noticed we didn't have toothpaste on the counter and left a new tube. The room was clean. The location of the hotel is ideal in Chicago, walkable to so many place and easy access to 900 North shopping without going outside is great in winter. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable including the bed. The white noise machine is helpful as are the provided ear plugs. Including Max on the tv is convenient. Love the nespresso provided.
Adorn, their restaurant, was unfortunately not somewhere we would eat again. Fortunately there are many nearby places to choose from with excellent food.
An FYI: the website says 'refrigerated private bar' in the room. That is not a fridge you can use. They have the mini bar system where if you move it, you bought it (thought those went out of style in the early 2000s). You can ask for a mini fridge to be brought to your room. Ruins the esthetic but it works.
Having stayed at 5 major chain hotels in the last 4 months, we have a realistic idea of travel today and realistic expectations. They say we should expect a more personalized luxury experience here but then not delivering that makes it all the more disappointing.

I have been coming to the Four Seasons since the mid 90s. I don’t stay often but when I am in Chicago that is my go-to hotel. It’s in a wonderful location and the staff are always excellent.
I must’ve missed out on something since the last time as we had a fabulous suite with a separate bedroom and a beautiful bathroom with a Lakeview. Somehow, we got what I would consider a normal – sized hotel room that you might find in any three star hotel. The room wasn’t any bigger than that, and it needed major updating, and even still had a chain on the door that you had to hook to make sure housekeeping
didn’t enter. The decor was outdated, furniture outdated, the toilet hissed all night, one telephone did not work, and although we had a beautiful view of the lake, it certainly wasn’t worth $1700 for two nights. There has been “upgrading” apparently of the bar and dining area, so the quiet, subdued lighting, upscale bar has been gutted, and now replaced with a very loud entourage of people taking their time at the bar while you walk to your dining table. Not a very elegant place anymore. It’s highly unfortunate, and we most likely will not be staying here again. And that’s sad because we really do enjoy the staff and the manager who spoke with us about our phone that did not work. He wanted to send someone up-that was quite kind, but we were not available for that intrusion at the time. Things should be in working order in a hotel that charges that much per room per night. for a standard size room that you would get at a Holiday Inn. Granted, the holiday inn may not have marble tiles on the bathroom walls, robes, hanging on the door of the bathroom, and an espresso machine, but the Four Seasons should offer better.

Wonderful stay at the Four Season. We had previous stayed at their other properties in the past and they remember that it was my wife’s birthday the weekend we stayed. Upon a quick check-in, they had a small birthday cake waiting for her in our room which a nice surprise.

The room was well maintained and had great views of the city. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities provided were luxurious. Every night without question the room was turned down with water, ice and slippers placed out for use.

The pool and the gym was well equipped. Our 2 children were attending a nearby college and loved the pool and amenities too. The locker rooms including the sauna were nice touches.

Checkout was a breeze. We had an early flight to catch at O’Hare and when we called down to have our rental car brought out, they were busy but the front desk working as a well functioning team made sure by the time we reached the valet, the car was waiting for us. Checkout was seamless—no issues to speak of.

Only regret was we did not stay that long. The service and property is what I have experienced at other Four Seasons. We are definitely fans.

I recently stayed at the Four Seasons Chicago on two occasions and on both instances the team and the facilities at the hotel were simply fantastic. The second time I was even treated to an upgrade to an executive corner suite with fantastic view over the lakes. The rooms are beautifully appointed and large, even the regular guest rooms. A particular highlight was breakfast: the choice of food and drinks was very good but in particular the team was exceptionally kind, especially Eve. I had a Jasmine tea and was always offered the option of having additional hot water to have the ability to enjoy more tea and avoid that it gets too strong. Michelle from the concierge team helped organize a dinner at RPM Seafood at short notice -- it was fantastic, highly recommendable place, we had a great night out. The gym is reasonably well equipped, certainly for a hotel gym, and provides towels and water, which is very convenient. Perhaps in terms of equipment, when the time comes, it could offer a bit more variety. The location of the Four Seasons is super convenient, just off the Magnificent Mile and around the corner from a range up upmarket stores on N Rush. Overall an excellent spot in Chicago, definitely one to return to.

Our stay at the Four Seasons Chicago was lovely and comfortable. Vicente was super informative to help us decide which room upgrade suited our needs. The room had a spectacular panoramic view of Downtown and Lake Michigan. The bed was comfortable and we had a turn down service every morning with fresh towels and evening to set our slippers, water, and ear plugs out before going to bed. What amazing service! As for the restaurant, Dylan and his catering team did a wonderful job in ensuring we had a lovely dining experience for both breakfast and dinner. Dylan went over and beyond to assist us with all our requests - mahalo and we hope to be back again soon!

The Four Seasons in Chicago completely exceeded my expectations. My favorite part was the bed! It was the best night sleep and set me up for success for my business meetings. The housekeeping department was incredibly responsive and helped me press my outfits in record time and everyone on property was attentive and friendly. I would love to return with my family as I found this property to perfect for both business and leisure. I saw a fun ice cream cart pull up outside my room for the family staying next to me and I immediately wanted to bring my own kids back just for that experience! By the way, there were young kids staying next to my room and I never heard a peep! The views of the skyline were also perfection and it was such an enjoyable stay. Thank you Four Seasons Chicago!

Highly recommend for luxurious family stay in Chicago. They accommodated our needs for microwave, refrigerator, and two cribs prior to arrival to travel with a 10mth and 2yo. Carol, our concierge, sent tips and city guide that helped relieve some planning stress and coordinated room needs with housekeeping. We booked Shedd aquarium visit, nightly restaurant reservations, American Girl store lunch and private shopping. I used the four seasons app 'chat' feature to coordinate food, housekeeping, deliveries, valet, etc. I was a dream to use! I told my husband multiple times over the course of the trip how amazed I was at the customer service through app and in-person. The hotel staff made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond for us. It's so hard traveling with kids and our experience with this hotel MADE our trip. Of all the things we did as a family, my favorite was our time at the hotel pool. We all went swiming and ate lunch there. They have a basket of various kids floats and googles. I was so surpised that we could eat/drink at pool plus they had equiptment for us. I had expected to be there for only a short period of time and carrying kids around the pool plus have to pack up and dry off for lunch. We stayed until nap time and my kids smiled and giggled with joy the entire time!!! My husband and I got to relax too because our family needs were accomodated. HEAVEN.
