I have to qualify this by saying I had just spent two nights on a train and I arrived exhausted. I was on the edge of crabby. The staff was wonderful! They had upgraded my room and it was more than I expected. Quiet and impeccably clean. The shower was exquisite. Yes, the bathroom was small, but it's an old... More

The historical building, the nice lobby and its position are the strengths for this hotel. Unfortunately, the remaining is not really value for money. The furniture is old and the room are not adequate to a 4-star hotel: mine was large but without coffee machine, no fridge, no hotel's directory, a minimal bathroom furniture. The breakfast was not included in... More

Dear Valued Guest, Im disappointed that we were not able to "Wow" you with service during your stay with us. Im happy that you enjoyed the internet and health club but it seems that we dropped the ball in communicating effectively with you. Slowing down the speech and returning an email is some of those simple things that can make... More

I was not impressed by this hotel. Yes, the lobby and ballrooms were gorgeous, but they were so loud that they hardly makes up for the rest of the hotel. The room was VERY small and overlooked a brick wall. You couldn't even close the door of the bathroom unless you were against the back wall of the bathroom. The... More

Dear Valued Guests, You are absolutely right ! Although the employees that call the Palmer House home can not enlarge the size of the rooms, they can certainly impact your stay be being courteous and attentive. Not giving you a welcome and the common courtesy of eye contact as they explain basic hotel functions is certainly unacceptable and is not... More

They got everything right and were very accommodating. Early check in granted, as well as late checkout (by three hours) on departure day. The Palmer House Hilton is an elegant place to stay with quite reasonable rates and a lobby that you really don't want to leave once you're in it. I would swear that the ceiling was painted by... Looks amazing, staff was friendly and helpful. NOT great for HHonors members, basically treated the same as anybody else. Rooms are comfortable to stay in and Breakfast is very good. Fitness Center is great and the location in the loop is convenient. Close to businesses and restaurants.

I recently stayed at the Palmer House for a conference and was very disappointed in this hotel. I had heard great things and was expecting an extremely nice, upscale hotel. The lobby was very nice, but my first clue that something was off was when I did not get the room I had originally reserved. After finding my way through... More

Dear Valued Guest, Im happy that you received a large room but it sound like our Property Operations department need to make a visit to that room to do a little touching up. We usually renovate the majority of our rooms during the winter time as it is a slower season for us. In the summer because of high occupancy,... More

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in early Sept. Flew into Midway and took the El to the Adams/Wabash stop, a half block from the hotel. No elevator at that station, so lugging the suitcases was an issue. At registration, the front staff (especially Stephanie) couldn't have been more accommodating. We were visiting on our anniversary weekend, and... More

The Palmer House Hilton is our favorite hotel in downtown Chicago, and our most recent stay did not disappoint. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. The shops on the ground level are upscale and discrete.

I was here for a conference last week. This is an iconic hotel with a lot of history. Peppered throughout the halls of the hotel are pictures of celebrities that have performed at the ol' Palmer House back in the day, and I assume it was great...back in the day. Today is another story. Common areas such as the lobby... More

I loved this hotel, it has been refurbished, the floor I stayed on was done in Art Deco style. Ate downstairs and sat in the ambiance of the awesome lobby for a while to people watch! Room was small,(very old building) but very nice!
