We had a lovely time at Peak Mazeri hotel. The setting is perfect if you want to go hiking to the Ushba glacier for instance. The rooms are simple but really nice and comfy. Everything was always very clean.

Nice clean place. We had the room with the incredible view of mount ushba and peak mazeri. Murman and his brother Bacho are very friendly people and great hosts. Food was completely homemade and very good. Their puppy is so cute.

Yes, you can get to Mazeri village and Peak Mazeri hotel by a 2WD car. Road is good and there is less traffic in that road. Final few killometers after you turn from 'Becho Junction' is not a very good road, but you can manage it with a 2WD car. I saw a couple came from their rented 2WD car (it was a Nissan hatch back car as I remember). You have lot's of beautiful places (small water falls, panoramic views) in your way. However there is one thing I must warn you. Road to Mestia/Mazeri is a mountainous road. There are many places where small stones rolled from the mountain and it could damage your windscreen. It never occurred on my trip, however, I have seen many rocks in the road fell from the mountain.
Roads around Mazeri and Mestia are good. But if you plan to go further from Mestia towards Ushguli, then 2WD will not be suitable and road to Ushguli is bit dengerous.
