This is a beautiful location, but it's on the other side of the island for any tours or other activities that are happening. So, if you want to go Roseau to go snorkeling or start a hike, it's at least a 1-hour drive over very narrow, windy roads. If you're looking for a place to just stay at and experience...

Hi jeank100, Thank you for staying with us at Rosalie Bay Resort. As you mentioned, our resort is located approximately 45 minutes from the capital city of Roseau. Most guests appreciate our isolated location where the Rosalie River greets the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy seeing the countryside on the way to their excursions. We hope you also found our serene...

Loved our stay at Rosalie Bay and have been monitoring road repairs and other site accessibility to return to Dominica. We got a turtle call every night we were there and it was an amazing experience to watch a giant leatherback come in and lay eggs. Food on site was good and smoothies excellent. So much is walkable in the...

Dear HikerGail, Turtle season is a special time of year, and we’re pleased that you experienced lots of turtle activity during your stay. Since adult turtles tend to come ashore to lay eggs at night, we’re glad you took advantage of our Turtle Wakeup Calls and did not miss a magical moment! We hope to welcome you back soon for...

We stayed here for 4 nights in July - the weather was rainy (but fun as tropical rain can be!), Dominica is the real Caribbean - lush and green, mountains covered with tropical plants. All around Rosalie Bay there are forests and birdsong. We went to Champagne Reef for snorkelling which was lovely. Don't self drive in Dominica though, it...

Hi safarigirl68, Thank you for taking the time to share feedback from your visit to Rosalie Bay Resort. We’re delighted you enjoyed your accommodations, cuisine, excursions and wildlife experiences. It’s wonderful you were able to see the hatchlings head out to sea! Our owners Bev and Oscar founded the first sea turtle conservation program on Dominica, and we appreciate your...

After an hour-long scenic drive from the airport you come upon the gated entrance to Rosalie Bay Resort. This spacious 28 room eco-luxury resort is located on the ruggedly beautiful east coast of Dominica, the nature island. It is apparent a lot of care and attention went into the design of this gorgeous property. Beautiful and spacious gardens of fruit...

I spent 5 nights at Rosalie and loved it, even tho the blessed turtles didnt turn up! The location is great, thundering Atlantic beating down on wonderfully strangled and wind distorted trees against the calm and damp background of the rain forest, with a peaceful river alongside. Very good programme of informal treks etc... The resort, dreadful and misleading word,...

Dear Jonathon R, We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your 5-night stay at our eco-resort on the Nature Island. It was truly a labor of love for owner Bev Deikel in creating Rosalie Bay to blend nicely into the ocean and riverfront setting. This is a very peaceful and quiet location in beautifully kept grounds. Lots of good walking trails nearby. The food was always good (we stayed nine days) and the staff friendly and helpful. Our room (402) faced the river and the balcony was a great place for birdwatching - 20 species from there alone! Our room was spacious, with a...

The location for Rosalie Bay is stunning but it is a long way from anywhere and with several disappointing evening meals and the food being more miss than hit, I'd say your money may be better spent elsewhere. Food was also inconsistent with the shrimp salad presented differently 3 evenings running with varied success in terms of taste and quality....

I went to Dominica (an island I had never heard of) to visit my granddaughter at Ross University in Portsmouth, and chose to stay at Rosalie Bay Resort determined simply by the reviews of other visitors. I just finished my third visit to Rosalie Bay Resort.
