The Cypress Park is still managed by Alberta Parks and the result is evident. The landscaping is pristine, the showers and washrooms some of the cleanest we have ever seen and the campsites large and well kept. There are several campgrounds; some close to the...More
We had three families stay in Lodgepole campground midweek in July. The campgrounds are nice and clean. The outhouse is very clean and well maintained. We were able to enjoy nature, quiet time at the site, and beautiful star filled skies at night.
We camped by Elkwater and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area by biking and driving. It is like an oasis in the middle of the prairies. I particularly like it for the dark night skies being away from light pollution I was able to see the...More

The fishing there is good. In elk water there is pike, they are no monsters but they bite and are keepers. The limit size here is smaller then other lakes. If you are a fly fisher than you can hit up two lakes in the park, Resser and spruce coulee, that are stocked and I have had great luck catching in. These two don't allow gas motors. In August you will see tons of people shore casting at the dams in these lakes.
The tourist centre is a great place to get info.
