After first arriving at 10.00 p.m. on the nail when the restaurant closed, they kept it open for us which was a nice touch, offering to take our bags to our room too (doesnt happen often when you are fit and able looking!) Found the food very nice, dining room elegant, piano being played in the corner, quite romantic really.... More

Beautiful hotel, inside and outside. Overall the staf is friendly. Little bit odd that the amazing looking restaurant is a steakhouse. The bike rental was dissapointing. Little bikes, mainly pink bikes and after a few kilometers we had a flat nike. Nice outside bar with great Mojito's. Breakfast could be better for 4 stars. We would like fresh juice and... More

2 minutes walk from vaparetto station. Less than 10 minutes by vaparetto to St Marks Square and the vaparetto runs 24 hours a day (10 minute intervals during the day, 30 minute intervals after 1.30am to about 5am). Central Venice is noisy and chaotic and this was a pleasant bit of respite from the hustle. Location wise I cannot recommend... More

Stayed at the hotel on the beautiful Lido island just outside cityt center of Venice. We had a romantic stay. The hotel was very nice and historical. The atmosphere was wonderful. Classy large rooms, and excellent service. The wonderful beach a few hundred meters from the hotel was excellent. The hotel in combination with the beach, the small Lido community... More

We stayed here during the Venice Film Festival and we had such a good time! The hotel is conveniently located on the main road in Venice Lido, just a few minutes walk from the harbour and another 5 minutes from the beach, next to the shops, supermarket etc,, The exterior part is really impressive, and the garden was well kept... We had a great time at the Grande Albergo! The adjoining rooms were perfect for a family group and the location was spot on. You could walk to the vaporetto stop in 5 minutes. The hotel even rescued my son's teddy from the laundry and returned it to England 2 weeks later. The staff were very helpful and we had... More

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at this hotel. The boats to and from Lido are convenient and easy. I would recommend buying an unlimited pass for your entire stay. This pass allows travel to and from the mainland as often as you like and is even good when taking the ferry and your car back. The hotel staff... More

My review might not be short as there was information i did not get on costs when on trip advisor On arrival at the airport there are ticket stands for Alilguna. You will wait ages as they are not easy to understand and there is a ticket office where you get the boat (out of the airport and go left)... More

This hotel is located in the main street of Lido, 5 mins walk from the beach and 5 mins walk to the passenger ferry to Venice (vaporetto) - which is either a 15-25 mins journey dependent on the boat taken. This is a good experience to have and the service runs all night to St Marks Square so the main... More

On arrival at the Grande Albergo you are blown away by the beauty of the building but unfortunately that's where it stops. Our room was small and dirty, we had to wear shoes in the room at all times as the floor was so dirty (including the shower!). Our bed was very hard and so we found it hard to... More
