Detailed Reviews
Traveling for business during COVID-19 can be a stressful time, but Hotel 43 is refreshingly on top of things. The gals at the front Desk, (I believe their names were Ashley and Sam?) were incredibly friendly and helpful. The valet, Raymond, was also very professional and on top of things. The rooms were nicely decorated, and even though I was on the 2nd floor I didn't notice any serious noise coming from the street. The location is great, right in the middle of downtown and only about 10 minutes (if that) from the airport. Some of the other folks staying in the hotel were very lax about wearing their mask in public, and indeed were very hostile to an employee when they politely requested that they put their mask on. However, that is certainly not the Hotel's fault. After all-You can't fix stupid!

Great hotel in the heart of downtown Boise. We took our bikes with us and rode about 2 blocks to get to the Green Belt, a wonderful bike and walking path along the Boise River. From our room at night we looked out onto the colorful buildings of downtown. There was a very nice restaurant adjacent to the hotel. We walked to Trader Joe's just few blocks away for groceries and supplies. Hotel 43 had bikes that they let you 'borrow' if you don't bring your own. They didn't have a fitness room, but gave complimentary vouchers to a gym nearby. We parked right next to the hotel and it was 15.00 per night since it was downtown and parking was scarce. They were very careful and were always wearing masks. The cleaning staff did not make a touch up visit (we were there 2 night) because of COVID, but left notice that you could contact them at any time for any needs and they would deliver things to you via non-contact methods. The hotel was quiet and pleasant. The staff were friendly. Boise is a wonderful place to 'vacation' during these days of not being able to go very many places!! We traveled from Salt Lake City and the trip was around 5 hrs. Lots of places to see!!

Hotel 43 feels like home away from home. They are always willing to help us with our travels whether it is getting us to and from the airport or storing precious cargo (fish/meat) in their freezer. We appreciate that Chandlers is in the same building as that is truly the best restaurant with the best vibe in town. We always feel like the rooms are clean and the people are respectful of space whether hotel guests or staff.

First, they did not provide the room I booked on line. If was small, two queen beds a small desk and one chair. Knowing room service was a must, how are two people supposed to dine in that room. Second, the room was a "pure" room, which meant besides the a/c blasting, they also installed a 2-1/2' tall air purifier. Together it was like trying to sleep next to a running Huey. Third, they advertise being connected to Chandlers (a very good restaurant) that you can get to through the hotel. Except, if you don't have reservations three days in advance, you'll be eating after 10:00pm. Fourth, I never did get a straight answer about the WiFi login (I've been traveling with business for many years and know how it works); and, finally, I stood at the front desk for six minutes with a question while the clerk chatted on the phone. I finally left. I was booked for four nights and checked out after the first night. When I checked out, the valet brought my car around and stood there with his hand out while my wife and I loaded the suitcases in the trunk. (We're in our 70s). Don't think I will go back there...ever.

Dear 369gregoryc - Thank you for your recent visit to Hotel 43 and for taking the time to provide us feedback on your experience. Your feedback makes mention of many items which fell short of your expectations. I believe that had you chosen to take us up on the offered room move we could have begun to make things better. We would still love the opportunity to make things right. Please reach out to me directly if there is anything I can do to make that happen. I can be reached by phone at 208-287-1481 or email at michael.eckelberger@hotel43.com. Thank you.

First, I didn’t realize housekeeping service was not done automatically as at other “luxury” hotels. You have to ask for it.
So I asked for it and got a nasty surprise when I got back that night: the door to my room was left propped open by housekeeping and could have been entered by anyone the entire day.
My computer, jewelry … everything was left vulnerable by the hotel.
I called down to the front desk, asked to speak to the manager, and was left on hold.
So I went down in person and told the front desk man that I thought being comped for that night was fair compensation. He told me his manager had offered me free coffee in the cafe.
The hotel biz is a trade: I pay them a fee and in return they keep me and my possessions safe (especially as a woman traveling alone) and my room clean. At a “luxury boutique,” as the 43 bills itself, I expect napkins with my in-room coffee service, a room service menu, some literature about the amenities of the hotel and where they are, and a bathroom you can turn around in even with the closet doors open, none of which was true in my room. In fact, the sink was still dirty after the “cleaning.”
I spoke to the higher-up manager the next day, and she politely informed me that if something had been taken, their offered compensation would be different.
Boise will become my new home in a couple months. When family and friends come to visit, I will make sure they all have a lovely experience … somewhere else.”

Dear Dmmick - Thank you for your past stay and for taking the time to submit your feedback. I apologize for my late response to your review. I want to assure you that the safety, security, and comfort of our guests to paramount to what we do. I completely understand how this would be called into question with your door being held open with the night latch after housekeeping service. I have followed up with the housekeeping managers and their team following this event to make sure this does not happen again. We are also currently reviewing our in room offerings with regards to the items you mentioned while still trying to maintain strict Covid sanitation protocols. I would love the opportunity to make this right. Please feel free to reach out directly to me at michael.eckelberger@hotel43.com if there is something I can do. Thank you again for your much needed feedback.

We really enjoyed our three-night stay at Hotel 43. It's in a great location for exploring Boise, and we loved how easy it was to find things to do and places to visit within walking distance. The museums, zoo, football stadium - all easily walkable, as well as various restaurants. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, and we also liked our room on the fifth floor. Very nice shower, coffee and tea making facilities, the bed was comfortable, and I loved the cute stuffed bear in his dressing gown. :) We slept well, without too much noise from the hallway. One thing I would say is that one night, we tried to look up the room service menu. There's nothing printed in the room for guests to look at, only a QR code to scan for hotel information. Following the links via this code to the room service menu didn't work, it just sent us back to the homepage. We ended up going out to eat anyway, but we would've appreciated something printed in the room as an alternative. Maybe a menu is also available at reception? Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again next time we visit Boise!

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel 43! The room I stayed in was spacious, very clean and it was even a wellness room. As someone who suffers from a skin allergy, it was definitely appreciated being put in the wellness room because chlorine and irritants are reduced, which normally give me hives. Everyone was also very nice and accommodating and I loved how close the hotel was from everything located in the heart of downtown Boise.

The nicest, friendliest check-in gal who made sure my husband and I got a room that had been vacant for 2 days. Our room was spotlessly clean as I check everything!! The bed was so comfortable that I lifted the linens to find out the manufacturer. Every time I stay here I notice my hair looks especially nice, and my skin is so soft...I love the water softener!!

They picked me up at the Airport within 10 minutes- wonderful friendly gentleman who worked for the hockey team. Explained who JR Simplot was McDonalds French fries. Quiet, accommodations, perfect downtown locations, parking on street or parking lot, window opens in room with great view of sunset, air flight crews housed here, and quality staff

jeross1313 - Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. I am very happy to hear that our staff made you feel at home. Those shuttle drivers are a wealth of information. This is really one of the things that we try to maintain in our hotel. Hoping to see you again soon. Thank you again.

This has been our place we stay every year for over a decade. Our favorite perk is having the restaurant and bar downstairs. My only complaint is that the hotel rooms are becoming dated and worn out. This trip our shower head was plugged up with debris and would hardly spray, we got it fixed. The charging outlets and power outlets are worn out to the point the chargers sometimes don’t connect or stop charging because the are so loose. The sink drains commonly back up and drain slowly. The wallpaper seems to be fraying and the beds are losing their cushion along with pillows that are no longer fluffy. Don’t get me wrong, we will still stay here every year, I just think the owners need to consider a remodel to stay a 4 star hotel and to compete with the other high end hotels in the area.
