Loved my stay here! I'm only not giving 5 star as the restaurant is permanently closed, and we were only informed this AFTER we had booked and paid. I think the restaurant would make it a 5 plus star stay. The room was very spacious and beautiful. Everything was clean, and had everything we needed.

The rooms are huge, beautifully decorated, with fantastic bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The owners and staff couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. It was great to find out the history of the old buildings. Definitely highly recommended

The former Mahogany Inn, now know as Mahogany Inn and Distillery, was our venue for lunch. The Sottt Fillet was cooked superbly, as was the rest of the meal. We will definitely be coming back again to this venue and will be accompanied by friends or family. I recommend you give it a go asap. The staff very polite and helpful. Les Marshall

After I booked I received a message advising the restaurant and bar are closed permanently. Bit of a let down as there’s nothing else within walking distance.
However…. The room was simply beautiful. Large room with a big comfy bed, blockout curtains, massive bathroom with the best shower you’ll find, and it was all immaculately clean.

A couple of things we didn’t like:
After hours check in was confusing. We were looking for the “keypad” and eventually realised it’s a digital one and doesn’t light up till you touch it. Took us half an hour to get in.
Tried calling the mobile number but it was switched off.
No doormat at the rear door. We felt horrible as we walked dirt in over the carpet.
TV antenna must’ve been faulty as half the channels were scratchy and couldn’t be watched.
The location means only 2-3 restaurants will deliver dinner so be prepared to drive.

Overall it is a magic place and such a shame it’s not running at full capacity with bar and restaurant.

Room Tip: Look for the blank black panel on the entrance door and touch it. That’s the keypad!

My sister and I had the most divine Thai Beef Salad at the very beautiful Mahogany Creek Inn.
Just the right amount of spice with some extra chilli’s if you needed it . A very generous amount of tender beef strips and yummy Asian salad .
The staff were friendly and efficient .
We will be back .

We had two nights here mid-week in mid-winter. The first night we were the only guests and on the Thursday night there was one other room occupied. The accommodation is in a separate, newly built/refurbished area behind the original Inn which now serves as Bistro/Bar, dining venue space. Considering the location on the Highway, it is totally sound-proofed and quiet. The rooms are very good: spacious and nicely decorated; large comfortable bed and excellent linen; desk, armchairs, wi-fi and a superb en-suite. They are let down by having little shelf or drawer space and no hair-dryer.
The accommodation area was sealed off from the Bistro/Bar area after about 10-00 or 11-00 pm (with key access for guests through a back door away from the alarmed area) and remained that way until staff appeared the next morning which, when we were there, was after 10-00 am. The staff appeared to be only the manager, cheerful and friendly though he was, who also served as receptionist, maid and, after 5-00pm, maitre d in the Bistro. We arrived back about 2-20pm from a trek in the bush to find the manager just arrived in our room to make it up.
The "complimentary continental breakfast basket" would be better not mentioned. It comprised two small packets each of orange juice, tinned fruit, yoghurt, cornflakes and milk. As there is no toaster or micro-wave, I assume the management did not want any cooking or warming facilities in the room beyond the electric kettle, but this basket is certainly a poor replacement. There are no cafes closer than 3 kilometres but I feel it would be better to leave nothing, or to leave these snacks as a pleasant surprise rather than as an advertised meal.
We had dinner in the Bistro on evening. It was bright with several areas and with a welcome fire in one room. The food we had was pleasant but we didn't give it a fair trial as we weren't particularly hungry.
We loved the location and the venue. It could be perfect as a get away from the city at any time of the year. It was let down by some inattention to detail, by shortage of staff and by not covering that all important, relaxed breakfast.

We visited last night for a meal (3 adt and 2 chn) and were impressed by the premises and ambience. The staff greeted us nicely and we were shown to a nice seat.
Staff took our orders quickly but then the wait started! We'd all finished our wine by the time our meals arrived. Luckily the kids menu was delivered early.
Two of us ordered the 250g steak with pepper sauce. The steak was a decent size but the sauce was lukewarm and a bit congealed. There was nothing "bad" about it, but for $40 it was very overpriced.
Our friend had the cheese and tomato tart and says it was "alright" but if she hadn't had the side salad, she would have been a bit hungry.
All up, we spent $187 for dinner and went away feeling a little ripped off. For the money, we now wished we'd continued down the hill to the Vines!!

We stayed there in winter, I had to have a small operation in the suburb nearby.
It is soooo tastefully decorated, all I could say was "woow!" The bed, oh my Gawd! So comfy! The ensuite, perfect! The facilities provided, thoughtful. I only wished for room service! Lol

We went for a weekend wedding and stayed overnight. From the moment of check in the staff could not be more welcoming. The newly refurbished rooms were lovely and the mini bar was well stocked. The food was superb. The staff are friendly and helpful. Can not speak highly enough. Cant wait to go back.
