We spent three nights on our return from the travels around Tasmania and was a lovely location to end our trip. Raspberry cottage was quite nice and equipped with facilities and self contained. It was nice to get back to the beginning with no microwave and prepare food on the stove from scratch. We enjoyed the experience. A nice experience for young children too. Play areas for kids with swings, slide, art room, vege patch and quiet walks to explore the surroundings. Loved the wild life and views. Echidna, wombats, kookaburas were seen and enjoyed by all. The location is good to explore Mt Field National Park, Raspberry Farm, Salmon Ponds in Plenty and New Norfolk. It is best to get your provisions before getting here on your way from Ouse or New Norfolk. There is an IGA in Ouse which is open till 6.00 pm and New Norfolk has more options with Woolworths and other groceries store around. There is no restaurant near the cottages so better to get stuff on your way. Thanks for the experience and we enjoyed it.

We loved our stay in the Raspberry Cottage! We felt so catered to, the woodfire was set up ready to be lit, the place was so cosy and comfortable and we had everything we needed. The organic vege patch was an extra bonus, being able to pick a few things to add to dinner. The location is stunning, so secluded and peaceful beside the rainforest. Our kids absolutely loved it! There were so many extra touches that added to their experience and in turn, ours.

We had such a wonderful stay at Sassafras Springs! We stayed in the Pearl's cottage which was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, fresh and super cozy. Marie the lovely property manager greeted us on arrival and helped us feel instantly at home. There's a great organic veggie patch, orchard and chicken coop for guests to harvest food from and everything growing is sign posted so that you can learn about different varieties including bush tucker, etc. Don't miss the rain forest walk on the property... it is incredibly magical with giant trees covered in moss, loads of man ferns towering over a cascading, meandering creek. It gives Mt Field NP a good run for it's money! We of course also loved visiting Mount Field which is only about 20-25 mins away. We will be back!

A stunning part of Tasmania and a perfect place to use as a base to explore the region. We stayed in the Old Farmhouse cottage for 3 nights. The cottages are fully self contained and the hosts, Grant and Marieke, have added many thoughtful touches to make the stay cozy and comfortable.
The property itself contains spectacular valley views, stunning nature walks through the rainforest and opportunity to see local wildlife. There is also an organic vegetable garden and eggs from the chicken enclosure that are freely available for guests.
We hope to visit again and stay for longer.

Our cycle group came here on the last night of our West Coast tour - the last few kilometres are up a very steep gravel road ... but it was well worth it. Beautiful, rustic cottages with lovely touches like WiFi modem, port decanter, organic fruit and veggie garden.

Extremely good service and very nice staff. Well equipped cottage in a beautiful area with an enormous view. Even for colder nights enough facilities to get it warm in the cottage (heating blankets, wood stove etc.). We also enjoyed the more than one hour long onsite walks.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our road trip around Tasmania. We stayed in the raspberry cottage and it was beautiful. Grant and Marieke were helpful and friendly. It is a beautiful place to stay with walks, chickens and a vegetable and fruit garden you are encouraged to use. Lots of wildlife and views. The cottage had everything we needed and we loved the fireplace. We will come back.

I loved this place, so much so that I stayed an extra night after my friend left. It is so still, just bird sounds. I did my meditation and yoga at the yoga platform on top of the hill. What a view! And what a sunrise! This place would be great for a yoga or meditation retreat. Also great views from every window in our cottage. The cottage was so quirky and had everything we needed. Heating, cosy beds and fluffy doonas. I used some of the port provided to make plumb/apple/rhubarb compote, all picked fresh from the garden. Yum. There are so many creative buildings around to explore. If I'd be a child I would have loved the little tea house. So cute. And a little cottage to do art work if you wish. And a camp kitchen for BBQ. And a beautiful bush walk, and platypus in a small dam. Oh and plus: excellent WIFI. And lovely caretakers. I will be back.

Honestly one of the best places we have ever stayed. Amazing views, fresh eggs and granny Smith apples to pick yourselves. Land is massive, amazing 1 hour walk through a forest with a lovely little creek. Swings, volleyball nets etc kids thought it was brilliant. Less than 25.mins drive to mount field National Park which has great walks. Wood burning fire in farmhouse cottage was just the best. This is the opposite of a sterile city hotel. You can feel the thought and effort that has gone into everything. We loved how quiet it all was.

Beautiful peaceful location set in farmland with own nature walks. Close to Mt Field National Park. Self contained home with wood fire. Good sheets bed etc. Great hot water pressure in shower. Welcoming host who provided unexpected treats.
