This is a real oasis with accommodation all within an exquisite garden with mosaics and other unique touches. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We felt spoilt way out from anywhere after many hours on the road. The rooms are spread around the property with boardwalks between the areas. Pizza night was great too with an outside area with coloured lights adding to the ambience. A delicious and plentiful breakfast was served here also. It is a friendly efficiently run family business. What an asset to the town!

It’s all been said before, but Savannah Lodge is a great place. Sitting out the back of the rooms overlooking the grass in Bowen Street, you could convince yourself you were in Kenya. The rooms are refreshingly large quiet and well appointed - particularly for the Far North, and the hospitality from the owners and staff is warm and genuine. No one can deny Burketown is not easy to get to, but you could do a lot worse than take it easy and relax at the lodge for a few days. If we get up this way again we certainly will.

Stayed here after campsites were fully booked. Was not disappointed. In a quiet location, with gorgeous grounds, the rooms were spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. Owners Amanda and Paula are lovely, and their pizzas are delicious.

Stayed for two nights. Management is excellent, as is the presentation of the lodge. Clearly the best accommodation in Burketown and certainly a credit to the owners to set up and operate successfully this business in a remote location such as Burketown. It is offers much more than accommodation and I am sure it would satisfy the most discerning traveller.

We were travelling with a group of 8 Ina private charter Having left Essendon in the dark and stoped in Birdsville with a closed hotel, Burketown was a welcome worth the wait. Paul and Amanda made us extremely welcome, drinks, a swim more drinks and a delicious pizza tea. SL was clean, good beds and easily a great base for two days. No hesitation in recommending them to everyone
