If you're going to a quaint little German town, during Octoberfest, you've got to stay in a windmill, right? We ended up not staying in the windmill though. Unfortunately, it was booked, but we enjoyed our room on the ground level and was able to park right outside the door. This motel is super cute on the outside, traditional German,...

This very clean hotel was located at one end of this tourist town. Very responsive front desk staff that was kind enough to also provide us with a military discount off their published web rate. The hotel was located right across the street from Betty's Country Store (groceries) and was a convenient starting point to explore the town. The room...

Check-in went smooth and staff was very friendly. It is an American owned facility, which is always a plus in my opinion. Room was located upstairs. There are no elevators on the premise so if you're handicapped, you'll need to request downstairs room. Room was very dated. Old looking carpet and bed linens. Wife pulled back comforter and found linens...

You might as well go all the way. We figured we would stay here because of the wind mill. Its a pretty cool old motel, not much has been done to it since it opened im sure. But it was cute and clean. This was the only place we stayed on our 10 roadtrip that did not have breakfast. But right...

A no frills place but fun to say you stayed in a windmill. Next door to some great restaurants and within walking distance of stores. Great alpine town to explore and not on a major highway so traffic is light.

The room was very nice. It was clean and spacious. We loved the two-headed shower. The staff was helpful and friendly. They offered good advice about Oktoberfest activities in Helen. We plan to return when we can use the fireplace in the room.

Location: B+ Towards end of Helen "Tourist" area, easy walk (steepish entrance) in & out of town. Cost: A to D: Pure cost along, especially considering other accommodations in the area would rank it "A", it's very affordable. Factor in the below you also get what you pay for, more of a "D" Cleanliness: Wife was not happy @ all,...

this was our 4th time to Helen and 3rd stay at the Heidi. Overall, room was very good. We had the suite and was very spacious. The carpets could use a good cleaning but everything else was clean. WiFi was down first day but they got their problem fixed. We will continue to return to Helen and the Heidi.

Visited Helen while on vacation from the UK. Stayed at the Heidi motel and had an excellent nights sleep after a day of driving. The room was very clean and comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom was excellent and the motel is ideally located across from the Country general store and along Main Street where there's...

I loved discovering Helen, and the Heidi Motel made it affordable and friendly. We plan to visit again. My wife and I made use of the swing the swing that overlooked the town. We had free wifi and accommodating service.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Heidi motel is located in down town and is one of the most Photographed building in Helen, GA and is one of the landmarks to the town and also are currently the only Motel in this area that you can actually stay in a windmill. We do not do a Breakfast due to the fact that we are across from Bettys country store and 2 buildings down from Hoffers Bakery which we recommend to all our guest to go for a great German breakfast and lunch. We have no pool due to the fact that we are so close to the river and that there are 2 water parks in town. We are American owned and operated and live on site. We work very hard to make your stay great and really appreciate your business. Thanks Chad Jackson ... more   less
