Was very disappointed in our stay for two nights. The cottages are on the lake and it is a beautiful view. They are not keeping the cottages up. The ceiling fan in the living room could not be used because it was almost ready to fall. The kitchen hardly had any pots and pans. An electrical outlet in the bathroom... More

The Lodge rooms, pool and the entire State park itself was very nice and we enjoyed our stay, except for their restaurant. The food at the evening meal appeared to be re-heated, over-cooked, and left over from their lunch buffet. The only option for desert was chocolate pie, which was still frozen, and a few individual pieces of various cake... More

We enjoyed Bagby and it met most of our expectations except for dining. We stayed in the two room "General Gaines Suite" which was clean and decent, similar to an economy motel room. King bed was FIRM and the living room couch was shot and needed replacement. Upon arrival, we learned that the restaurant was closed because "business was so... More

My husband and I decided to celebrate our ten years of marriage here at George T. Bagby. The staff was extremely welcoming, the scenery was beautiful, and I cannot wait to go back! If you are looking for a "Five Star Resort" this is not the place for you. George T. Bagby is a place where you can be one... More

This was just a "get out in nature" trip for the family; and the state park is beautiful with good fishing, bike trails, etc. However, the lodge is a standard motel. The room was basic, but clean. Walls were paper-thin unfortunately. The lodge has a country buffet-style restaurant (at least while we were there, there wasn't an option to order... More

My room had an odor immediately upon entry. It appeared the carpet needed shampooing, and all of the furniture was very worn. The towels were not restocked during the stay, and the linens were clearly dirty. The lake view is beautiful but not spectacular. The food in the dining room buffet was good but not extraordinary. The staff at the... More

My family stays at George T. Bagby when going hunting in the area. We stay in the cabins which are on a small lake. There is a full kitchen and two bedrooms plus a living room/dining area. It serves our purpose very well. The grounds are nice for taking a walk or if it's warm enough to sit on the... More

The rooms were clean. Restaurant was buffet and was ok. $20 for breakfast and $30 for supper or 2. Also charged $5 per vehicle for park pass. $80 per night for a room. Most of the park closed at dusk. Overall ok.

When I made my reservation and a couple of follow up calls the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. The lodge seems very clean and the park is very clean on the outside of the room. Once in our room things were a little different the grout in the bathroom was disgusting and we find several spider webs on... More
