What's a yurt? That's a question I had a few months ago. But, now having stayed in one, I can tell you all about it! My girlfriend brought up the idea (she had stayed there once before) and at first I was a little leery, but being an avid outdoors-man, I couldn't pass this up. So, for those who don't...

This place is fabulous. It is warm and cozy and Fred and Mary Beth make it very special. It is very comfortable and the breakfast is terrific. In fact Mary Beth just sent me some recipes! It is close to several wineries and it is a great place to stay if you want to take some wine tours or do...

I believe this was the third time my husband and I stayed at Cedar House. We are never disappointed! This time we decided to stay in one of the yurts on the property. It was great to have the privacy of the yurt and feel like you are in the middle of woods but have a clean bathroom, delicious breakfast,...

My girlfriend and I went to the Cedar House Inn & Yurts to celebrate our first anniversary. We stayed in a Yurt, it was cozy and beautiful, the grounds were gorgeous! One evening we were there it had rained all evening and the sound of the rain on the Yurt was very calming and peaceful, it made it very easy...

We had a wonderful time with MaryBeth and Fred during our one-night stay at Cedar House Inn! We would have loved to stay all weekend, but we booked too late and they were all full. Understandably so! They are gracious hosts with excellent communication prior to our stay and welcomed us in to their home with freshly baked cookes, hot...

I brought my husband for his 49th b'day and we had an amazing time!! Fred and MaryBeth were the most hospitable hosts we've ever had. The yurt was a new experience for both of us and we truly enjoyed it. We could hear leaves hitting the top of the yurt and it sounded just like we were in a tent,...

We recently hiked a couple of sections of the Appalachain Trail and stayed at the Cedar House. Very peaceful and quiet with an excellent breakfast. Just like staying with family. Close to Dahlonega which has a number of very good restaurants.

If you're looking for a great mountain getaway, you can't go wrong staying here. Very comfortable, clean and accommodating. Terrific breakfast. Stayed in the Mountain Bluebird room--very nice with private entrance and bath. A most peaceful experience. Mary Beth and Fred couldn't be any nicer. You can't go wrong staying here.

My husband and I are local but wanted a place to "get-a-way" for a night to celebrate our anniversary. Cedar House Inn was the perfect place. The room was very nice and comfortable. The setting is peaceful and serene. We really enjoyed the permaculture tour and being introduced to such thoughtful and sensible growing ideas. Thanks so much Fred &...

Mary Beth and Fred are amazing people who we can not wait to revisit. With moving, school, work, and just the stress of everyday life a weekend to reconnect was exactly what my girlfriend needed. The room was wonderful, the morning breakfast and conversation a delight, and the lack of TV and Phone a much needed reprieve. They not only...
