The room we stayed in was a little dated, but it was very clean and well maintained. The innkeeper, Frank, is very friendly and a great host. My wife fell in love with Midnight the cat, who lives on the property and is quick to greet you. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

This was the fifth season our group has stayed at Mountain Aire Cottages & Inn for our trip. Love the quaint comfortable environment. A fun place to stay. We always sit outside when we return and visit among our group and usually meet other travelers. Cottages & houses are always clean & stocked with basics. Each room is decorated differently,... We always take a fall trip where we meander and find accommodations along the way. We stopped in Clayton to eat and decided to check Mountain Aire Cottages and Inn out. We stayed in the Mountain Lodge Inn room and really enjoyed it. The innkeeper has done a great job updating the interior with log facade walls and lodge decor.... More

We rented the Blue Ridge cottage for 9/16 and 9/17. The location of the property is nestled in a hillside close to town. It suited our group of 4 women because it had two bedrooms and 2 baths. Midnight the cat greeted us upon our arrival. If ever we are in the area again I would not hesitate to stay... More

Clayton is not a large place so the lodging was few and far between. This place was clean, owner was gracious and helpful. Although included in our welcome was rules for our stay. I assume they have their reasons for doing so but I imagine requesting that you do not lay on the comforters on the bed would be a... More

Dear Ann, I'm so sorry you were not happy. Had you mentioned your concerns I would have gladly made any accommodation for you. The only reason I ask guests to turn down the comforters is that it helps keep them looking nice for everyone, yourself and others after you. As to the mattress, it is a Sealy 12", medium firmness.... More

We spent 3 nights in a motel unit. It was so nice. We were delighted to find such a good place to stay. The units are super clean and well furnished. It is quiet and peaceful, such a nice place to relax yet close to town. We have previously stayed on the busy highway and were glad to find a... More

We were traveling around the Southeast US looking for a place to retire. We came without a reservation to the Mountain Aire and Frank was an excellent host! The accommodations were clean and quite. It truly is like a piece of heaven here. Clayton is a lovely town with wonderful people.

My husband and I made an impromptu overnight trip to the NE Georgia mountains. Found Mountainaire on Google. What a wonderful surprise! It was quaint, peaceful, cabin chic and most importantly clean. We have decided that Mountainaire and Clayton will be our mountain getaway destination.

We set out on a day by day vacation. Saw it and plugged it in as a address to get us to the area. Fell in love with the cottages when we got there. Everything you need. Terrific host and the craftsmanship on the cottages is beautiful. Very peaceful and relaxing. Ended up staying 2 days. Look forward to another... More

The Mountain Aire was perfect for us. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Frank is a great host, and a very engaged owner who cares for his guests. I will not stay anywhere else the next time we return. Hopefully with all the family and grandkids. Thanks Frank. You're a class guy.
