Hall carpets were filthy. Room carpets not much better. Bed was comfortable at least. Last year we stayed here and had a very nice breakfast, this year is was cold cereal, bread/toast, 2 of the 4 juices were "out of order". I would not have even called it a "Continental Breakfast." We did not remember it being so dirty last year or we would not have rebooked for our annual trip to Hilton Head this year. Staff was friendly and courteous
The good: I needed a room late at night. This inn had one. Sheets clean and crisp. Staff pleasant. Had breakfast. Dog friendly. The bad: hallway carpet filthy. Room smelled like cleaner. Had a dehumidifier in room. Never seen that before. The ugly: the entire outside facade of the inn crumbling. Inside of inn desperately needed a refresh.
This motel has it right. Common areas are nice and roomy, and clean where it really counts, two elevators, large outdoor pool. For an economy price you get all the fluff and more of a smaller newer higher priced motel. Room was clean, roomy bathroom. The breakfast room is not part of the lobby, again a very nice size and lots of tables. Food was fresh and higher quality than other budget priced motels I've stayed at. The food counter was kept clean. The staff is hard to beat. Delores was a peach and took excellent care of us at check in. Becky sent us on our way this morning with a big smile. Thank you for the pleasant stay!
When we drove up, there is now a Rodeway Inn sign, which was a little disappointing. This is still in family of Choice Hotels but is considered to be more of an economy hotel. We had pre-paid a non-refundable cost which we had felt was reasonable for a Comfort Inn. We wanted a clean place to crash for 5 days while we did exploring of the area. The room was nice and clean and appeared recently renovated. Bed was very comfortable. Small fridge and microwave. There was a FREE hot daily breakfast (only 6a-9a though). The FREE wifi was one of the best I've had for a hotel. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The pool was warm and clean. The hallways and main areas are a bit worn and musty. Lobby looks renovated. But I figured you get what you pay for. If you are expecting the Ritz, it's not. But if you need a place to stay that's convenient and accessible, it is fine. Had clean sheets and towels. Well lit parking lot. 24-hour FREE hot beverage counter.…
Room was nice but halls smelled and there were fans in the hallway blowing things dry. Not pleasant at all. Would not stay again. Smelled like a combination of bleach and fabric softener. It is changing owners so maybe it will get better.
