Guests have called out The Alfond Inn for its sophisticated atmosphere and tastefully decorated spaces, often highlighting the hotel's clean, modern rooms and unique art. Its prime location near downtown Winter Park is a consistent plus, making it a hit for its proximity to local attractions.

Detailed Reviews
If you are here on business or leisure, The Alfond Inn is wonderful. Highly recommend it, not only because my stay was so relaxing after 2 days filming but because profits from The Alfond Inn are allocated to help students at Rollins College.
My room was clean. COVID clean. They seem to have new air filters too because never once did the room feel stuffy and it smelled fresh and clean every time I returned to the room. The bed was extremely comfortable (I felt like I was in a cocoon). They even had extra pillows and blankets if one needed more.
Staff is professional and friendly. Everyone wears masks. At the bar- the space has been set up to keep distancing easier. Pool is wonderful. Long enough where you feel you can do some laps and there are plenty of towels available. I felt like I was on the set of Miami Vice or CSI Miami- the pool area was not your typical hotel pool. (Yes, I am dating myself).
If you are in Winter Park, FL- stay at The Alfond Inn, it's worth it and you are helping students.

This hotel is like staying at your own private art museum. Every detail from the cleanliness to customer service to amenities is top notch; even more impressive in the current covid environment. Hamilton's Table; the onsite restaurant is also outstanding; both for dinner and brunch we had unforgettable food and some of the best waitstaff we have ever encountered. Would highly recommend both the hotel and restaurant, we were staying in a king balcony and the huge shower and very generous balcony with patio furniture were truly over the top. We will definitely return.

+1
Loved this unique hotel. Enjoyed the art gallery walls and decor. Beautifully maintained grounds and neighborhood. Felt very safe to walk to dinner, shopping and coffee. Appreciated the Julius Meinl espressos and Inspresso machine in the room. I used Expedia points for this room. I feel the location and public areas of hotel are worth it, but the room is not a $200 per night room. Hotel employees were masked and property appeared clean. Looking forward to enjoying the restaurant next time.

I was very disappointed with my stay at The Alfond Inn. My first room was not clean. Upon pulling the blanket off, there was black stuff on the bed sheets. I notified the front desk who was going to send someone up with new sheets. An hour passed and I found damp towels, dust and other clues that the room was not thoroughly cleaned before I checked in. I called the front desk and had to request a new room, when I should have been offered to be immediately moved upon the first call. Then, I ordered grouper sandwich box from room service and asked for plain grouper as I have allergies to spices. 50 minutes later, a blackened grouper sandwich was delivered. I called back and was told it would be 1-1.5 hours to get me a new sandwich which was unacceptable. So I paid $40 for room service that was inedible. Upon check out when I was asked if I had a good stay, I said I wish I could say yes. Explained the issues from the room to not meeting cleanliness standards to an inedible room service meal...and was met with "Well, that's unfortunate." There was no offer to remove the meal from my folio nor any discount applied as a make good for my "unfortunate" stay.

If you have any issues with your room, don’t expect them to be taken care of. I reported ants in my room on 3 separate occasions during my 3 night stay and they were still happily crawling along the nightstand upon my departure.
Bath robe hanging in the closet “clean” had someone’s blood all over. The hotel let it sit in my room the entire stay and never removed it. I’ve stayed at budget hotels in less developed countries that were 100x cleaner and more responsive to issues.

This hotel is in a.prime location in.Winter Park near Rollins College and in walking distance of upscale restaurants and shopping. The lobby is clean and beautiful, and the hotel is full of interesting art. However, the rest of the experience was average.
When I checked in I found out that there would be no housekeeping service during my 3 night stay and that their restaurant wasn’t open. The “coffee in the lobby in the morning” comes out of a machine although there is supposed to be a wonderful restaurant in the building where, like most other upscale hotels offer, some quality coffee could easily be brewed and offered to patrons.
After seeing the beautiful lobby, I was surprised to find that the room was clean but badly in need of renovation. The furniture is dated and scratched, the carpet is dirty and the bathroom is on par with any Hampton Inn with a shower in a tub. I stayed on the courtyard side which has a very nice view, but the room had insufficient lighting and was too dark. The pillows and linens were better than most, but the soft spot in the middle of the mattress left me with a morning backache. The nice wall-mounted tv and the safe were the best in-room features. Also the AC was efficient, and the temperature in the room easily lowered to below 70 degrees.
The Alfond Inn is in a great area, but I expected that my room would be consistent with the surroundings. The charge with taxes was $277.50 per night with a $20 per night parking charge. Your car must be valet-parked. The price of the room is far above most other hotels in Orlando and way above what it’s worth.
Buyer beware until the rooms are consistent with the lobby and the wonderful art. Next time I will probably stay nearby and take an Uber if I want to go to Winter Park. The price was simply not consistent with the quality of the room.

It is a beautiful property that is dated and somewhat worn and needs to be refurbished. During the pandemic would have been an ideal time to refurbish the rooms and public areas. Re Amenities, bottled water or sanitized cups and pure water source in the exercise room would be appreciated, especially in a 4 Star Hotel. The quality brand coffee maker in the room did not work and the was no service available. Reception was professional and helpful, however there was no room service. This quality property needs and deserves attention.

As requested, higher floor room was appreciated. However, our room was right next to the elevator so not only did we overhear all the chatter while guests waited for the elevator, we heard the intermittent music playing in that corridor (the speaker is closer to our room and music seeped in periodically). While our bathroom fan didn't work (do they work?) every time we showered the room filled with steam, which most likely led to our smoke detector going off, early in the morning. We had to move a chair to stand tall to remove it from the wall. When we presented the smoke detector to the front desk and relay the issues, the clerk was nice but dismayed at the unit not working and wondered why we would have removed it from the wall versus just letting the unit continue to sound a continuous alarm. No apologies, no fixes, but ensure if you stay here you request a room AWAY from the elevator lobby/speaker, working bathroom fan, newer smoke detector. For $300.00/night, these issues should not be occurring..

The price of the hotel is purely based on location, because the rest of of the hotel amenities are average or below. Room service is not good, and the restaurant is average or below. Customer service is below average, but the arrogant attitude is consistent with the location. Only stay here for the location.

Our third visit. Each time I’ve said I’m not returning because it’s not clean. However, it is a convenient location for our purpose. Supposedly clean for COVID. I cleaned the room because of Covid and it was noticeably not any cleaner than usual. Blood splatter in the bathroom!! Maid service does not wear masks while cleaning rooms. Extremely disappointing!
They should do better.

Hello - Yes, the Hotel does have a generator. As to your other question: Orange County DOES NOT have designated evacuation zones. The county can/may still issue evacuation orders, but these orders will NOT refer to designated evacuation zones and instead will refer to geographic boundaries or landmarks.
Yes...Full Sail is very close, approximately 4 miles away. By far the Alfond Inn is the best place to stay.
Good Morning! To your question yes, they have a limited number and I believe there is a $25 upgrade to secure a balcony. Some face the street and other face the beautiful courtyard. If you do not want to pay for the guarantee of a balcony, you can request through the property but again you may or may not receive one.
I hope this helps...
