Second stay - the hotel is very nice, well located but pricey for what is offered. Note: only valet parking $20 a day. Stay here because they support Rollins scholarships. Good gym. Pet peev is that they take the tea/coffee away in the morning. You would think for $300 a night you could get self serve hot water.
So sorry to say because this place is lovely but food not up to standards. The Waldorf salad was very good but it stopped there. The sword fish was bland period. The salmon had no crust on it and very dull. It was on a bed of mushy lentils, unacceptable. The waiter never offered to show us a dessert menu. The wine,14.00 a glass and very small pour. Definitely not worth the money. Finally, food came so quick, there is no way it was prepared fresh
From the moment I arrived, the sweet aroma of the Alfond Inn welcomed me. The friendly concierge opening the door and the host at the reception desk said "welcome back" upon greeting me. The lobby and atrium has world renowned art hanging on the walls from the Rollins Collection. The floors also have art decorating your experience to remind you that you have chosen a great hotel. The pool was beautiful and the hotel soaps were far beyond anything I would experience at any other hotel. Drinking coffee on the balcony while letting the warm Florida breeze tickle my face was a daily morning ritual after running through the historical Rollins College campus. This hotel has been a source of stability through the pandemic as well. They offered us a great rate when every other hotel was shut down, The Alfond Inn stayed open and made us feel safe the entire time while we visited our son that is a student nearby. Thanks again for everything. …
My partner and I are Rollins Alumni and we highly recommend staying at the Alfond Inn on vacation, romantic night, or to feel like you are at an oasis outside of Florida. The artwork is incredible, check out the second floor art work painting with the twin towers. Incredible!
This was our third stay at this hotel. Wonderful location and very courteous staff. Clean and classy. Had live music in the bar Friday night which was lovely! We love being able to stroll into town and enjoy the shops and restaurants. Look forward to next visit.
