This KOA has a lot going for it, nice friendly staff, great nightly entertainment, marina, good location....unfortunately the lack of sand on the beach makes it difficult to get into the water and the bugs will eat u alive. Hopefully the new management will address these concerns as we will be coming back next year.

Not sure where all these great reviews came from. I was expecting much more for the inflated prices we paid for a crappy gravel site with no shade and so close your neighbor your awning almost touches. Woke up the first morning we were there and couldn't even get my toaster from my bottom storage because the other neighbor was...

This trip was only my 2nd time tent camping, so don't have much to compare it to. It was not as crowded as I had imagined. The bathhouse was very clean. Did not use the pool or beach, not really warm enough to swim. My only complaint is that there is no gate, etc at entrance, anyone could come in...

It was a camping trip to remember. There were lots of amenities in the place, including the beach and a very nice pool. One of the best sunrises I've ever seen in my life. Very nice ambiance. I do consider the place is kind of expensive.

The campground is located on Sugar loaf Key, about 20 miles from Key West. The campground borders the water and has a small sandy beach. There is a trampoline and a rock climbing inflatable in the water for the kids. There is a nice heated pool and hot tub. It is next to a large tiki bar. The bar has...

This is the second and probably the last time we will stay here. We go on an annual trip to the keys and we have stayed two years in a row. Last year it was fairly clean this time it was not. Every day the bathrooms were totally gross- paper on the toilets, water dripping from another toilet creating mud...

Nice enough place - very busy & kinda loud. Spaces in our area are tight & it takes a village of people to get you in so you don't hit another rig. Its open to the public - so anyone can drive in at any time - a certain lack of security. Lots of staff - nice enough & helpful....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open all year. Set between the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You'll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, local fishing and beachside fun at the campground's own water haven. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen margaritas on the waterfront veranda of the campground's pub. Even your family pet will have fun at the pet playground specifically designed for them. Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground's shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed "the Conch Republic." Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier. ... more   less
