Listen to the information at the park about this trip. It is easy paddling but there are many trees across the river which requires almost laying flat in the canoe. However, beautiful scenery, lots of turtles, a couple of alligators. We camped at Alexander Springs....More

This is a worth while place to go. Many complain about the $5 per person fee, but that isn't really expensive considering the beauty of the place. You can bring your own food and drinks (no alcohol). The water temp is 72, year round, and...More

Expensive fee to get in, compared to any Florida State Park ($5/per person here, $6 per car load at state parks). While the Forest Service subsidizes the logging industry to cut down our national forests, they don't price this recreation area so you can afford...More

The campground has designated camping areas, many of the sites are wooded and they all have bear boxes. I didn't look closely to see if trees would accommodate a hammock, but they looked substantial.

Why did we have to pay 45$ to finally get into the park and can't do a thing? We can only wade in the water, can't even jump feet first right off the side wall. This place has gone down hill and you took everything fun about this place. Very upset and very unsatified. Drove over 2 hours for this....

unfortunately I feel the same way they charge an arm and leg to get in and they stripped away best part of the swing area, my only positive thing to say is nice camp ground and great for kayaks not good for us swimmers.
