Our 1 night stay at 43 Degrees was wonderful, if too short. The apartments look great from the outside and inside they don’t disappoint. They are beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. It’s an easy, pleasant walk to the Adventure Bay shop but with a little forward planning, you could prepare your meals in the apartment and enjoy them either inside or on the lovely front deck. Breakfast was delivered promptly and unobtrusively, and it included a warm loaf of what we assumed was locally made bread – it was great! Although we didn’t meet our host Ericka in person, she contacted us before, during and after our stay to make sure all was well and said she was available 24/7 should we need her. The eco credentials of 43 Degrees were the icing on the cake of our stay. Highly recommended!

For couples wanting to get away from the rat race this place is fabulous. We didn’t stay, but my in-laws did, and we popped in to visit a few times as a major family event was taking place nearby. I was quite envious. They were in raptures. The apartment is tastefully appointed, breakfasts fresh, complimentary wine, convenient location to the beach and not far from the general store, bowling club and cafe. The gardens are beautiful. Highly recommended.

We instantly fell in love with Bruny Island, and staying at 43 Degrees Bruny made it extra special. Want to know why?

The studio suites are tastefully decorated, quiet, private, only 5 units in the compound, wallabies and rabbits come to visit at night, the sound of waves makes it more romantic.. it’s just bliss!

We received a nice bottle of Tassie red wine in the room on arrival and breakfast the next morning was simple but delicious. It consisted of a freshly baked bread roll, selection of jams and yoghurt. Breakfast is delivered outside your studio between 8 and 8:30am.

There is a small kitchenette in the room and a gas BBQ on the deck which was clean and works perfectly.free bottle of wine too, which was really nice.

Oh, we loved the spa bath too!

Communication with the hosts was efficient and accurate. Room clean. Love that there were no kids on the property.

Tips.. wake up early and watch the sunrise from Adventure Beach (less than 5 mins walk away).
Bring a nice steak from the mainland for the BBQ.
Prepare to take the rubbish with you.
Go and find the white wallabies.
Make it a point to return one day ;)

My wife and I traveled though Victoria and Tasmania for five weeks, staying at 18 different accommodations. 43 Degrees was by far one of the very best. We stayed four nights and could not have enjoyed it more. The room was amazing, very modern and clean with an interesting layout... Fresh baked bread was delivered every morning along with our breakfast. The grounds and views from our room were fantastic. I cannot recommend 43 Degrees high enough.

We only stayed 1 night in our lovely Eco cabin at 43 Degrees but it was one of the highlights of our Tassie trip. We stayed in cabin #4 which was more secluded and tucked away in the garden but we found it so peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed after a hectic holiday. It was spacious and well equipped, loved the decor. The hosts made contact in the morning to welcome us and give details about check in, then popped by after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast delivery in the morning was a treat.

Adventure Bay is beautiful, with the beach across the road and shops just a stroll away. Adventure Bay is the nicest part of Bruny Island.

Something to note - there is currently only one place open for dinner on the whole island (Hotel Bruny) so book a table early or you miss out! The General Store at Adventure Bay is very well stocked if you need any groceries.

We loved this place! Easy to find, great location in adventure bay, and right across from a lovely beach. The room itself was super clean and well appointed. The grill outside was key, since we like to cook eggs for breakkie. Inside there is no stove. The hosts accomodated our early birding schedule by providing us breakfast the evening before- very kind!

Stay here. It is sweet!

The accommodation is in a great location and from the outside all looked fine but I agree with a previous review that new cleaners are needed. The windows were a disgrace and also not very clean throughout.
There was no milk in the fridge and we rang the mobile number but no response at all. It was one when we saw the person delivering breakfast two days later that we received the milk. For the price of $300 per night in the spa studio we expected a little more for breakfast.
We knew that that the studios were small but a small kitchen table would have been nice to eat breakfast from.
Also they were no shelves in the bathroom to put toiletries and the only place to hang clothes was behind the door in the bathroom. No cupboards etc. The bathroom was large and spacious so shelves and cupboards under the bathroom sink would be possible.
All in all it was extremely disappointing.

On a 4 day break to Tasmania we decided on spending a night on Bruny Island and we were not disappointed. An absolutely beautiful and peaceful part of the world including our stay at 43 Degrees. The apartments are full of character and nicely appointed. A small kitchen with microwave (no stove) is all that was needed considering a BBQ comes with the apartment. Enjoyed our evening on the balcony with a very nice complimentary bottle of Shiraz and finished off the night in the spa. Bed was comfortable and a pleasant sleep was had in absolute peace and quiet apart from the sound of the nearby ocean which was most calming. Breakfast comprising of a warm loaf of bread, butter and selection of jams along with yoghurt was perfect way to start the day. The bread was delicious as was the yoghurt. Had a slight issue with the water overnight although this was beyond anyone's control and sorted in literally no time. Well stocked general store a short walk away. Would not hesitate to recommend a stay at 43 Degrees in beautiful Adventure Bay.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The accommodation was lovely. The space available was good which was useful as we had a lot of luggage! It was clean and the small kitchen was well equipped. The host was very helpful and we felt very welcome. There is a local shop which had a reasonable selection of goods. We really enjoyed our stay on the Island and the accommodation and breakfast exceeded expectation.

We had a lovely stay, the eco lodges are neat and quiet and perfectly located. We loved our time on Bruny, and this place could be wonderful. The only issue was that the cleaner had not done their job. The BBQ was disgustingly dirty to the extent it was unusable. (Reported when noticed on the first full day of our 3 night stay there but not fixed while still there) There were empty plastic bags under the coffee table and dust bunnies under the bed (noticed when leaving, checking that we had everything). For the price paid, I expected daily room servicing, but no, not even the bin emptied, and no outside recepticle to do it ourselves.

Do I need a car to get to your accommodation from ferry? Traveling by foot.
Answer from 43DEGS
Bruny Island, Australia
Hi Louise, Yes .. A car is essential when visiting Bruny Island. The vehicular ferry to Bruny Island disembarks at Roberts Point (there is no township at Roberts Point nor any form of public transport on the Island). It is approx. 30 mins to Adventure Bay (main township on Island). It is very easy and inexpensive to bring a vehicle to Bruny Island, vehicular ferries depart approx. every 30 mins costing only $33.00 per vehicle return fare.
