This is a rare place. Beautifully renovated house in front of a quaint little church. Very comfortable rooms, each one being unique and with complete attention to details. Breakfast and dinner are very nice. Tasty and delicate. But what really makes the house are the owners. Francois and Herve are delicate, funny and very welcoming persons. Very attentive to your comfort without being overwhelming. And on top of everything, they have a charger for your electric car! This is truly a special place. Luxury and simplicity. Don’t hesitate.
My boyfriend and I love to visit La Maison du Passage as every time is as wonderful as the last. We are always warmly welcomed by Herve and Francois, who make sure that everything is perfect with our stay. Without fail we are made to feel as though we are at home as everything is designed to be very relaxing. The rooms are all beautiful and benefit from an exquisite attention to detail ranging from the ambience of the room, the attentive turn down service, right down to the essential oils in the shower! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and all three were beyond excellent. We really could not recommend this place enough and we will be sure to visit again and again!
This place is a gem. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but actually within easy reach of Uzès, Nîmes, the Pont du Gard, and other noteworthy places, this is definitely worth a visit. François and Hervé have converted an ancient stone house into a delightful B&B, with modern conveniences and touches woven into a structure with beautiful old bones. Our room, Rêve des Papillons was both unique — as are all their rooms, I expect, given that they have adapted an ancient structure — and very comfortable. They are wonderful hosts and clearly made an effort to get to know our preferences (an espresso for her, a large coffee with milk for me on our 2nd morning there, without having to ask) as well to engage with us as people. They really did feel like hosts, and not just proprietors. You can feel their passion for their chosen work, here. If they are cooking dinner, eat here. We were there 3 nights, and for 2 of them, we had spectacular meals from start to finish, including the best pork I have ever tasted. The one night they didn’t cook (they were going to a concert in Nîmes) François left a tray for us with an incredible tomato salad, charcuterie, fresh fruit, bread, and cheese; we had a delightful picnic-style dinner on the terrace. Needless to say, the breakfasts were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to make a detour to go there.…
Just a wonderful place to chill and unwind. Francois & Herve were the perfect hosts making us feel relaxed and welcome. Maison du Passage is just a little slice of heaven with lots of luxury thrown in...Beautiful bedrooms with gorgeous artwork, very comfortable beds and white cotton linen....They have a hot tub on the roof and a nice pool with lovely views. We asked them to cook us dinner and it didn't disappoint...well cooked and beautifully presented....Their attention to detail is second to none!...We even managed to purchase some local pressed award winning olive oil to take home. We will definitely be returning next year for a longer stay and if anyone is thinking of booking here...then, don't hesitate as it is wonderful :)
This is one of those reviews that keep being delayed because you want to make time to do justice to a wonderful experience. We had booked 3 nights in the delightful Head in the Stars room with a lovely private terrace giving us a view of the beautiful village church and of the lovely countryside into the distance. We loved this room with its hundreds of twinkly lights in the roof, fabulous shower, Christian Lacroix headboard, Uber comfy bed and luxuriously soft linens. We also appreciated the floor lighting with movement sensors for those nighttime bathroom visits:). A very thoughtful and practical touch so typical of this special place. As we were leaving Francois showed us the new suite with its own terrace and spa. We were so impressed we immediately booked a further 2 nights (all that were available before our flights home) All we can say about the Perdu en Paradis suite is it’s JUST AMAZING!! You will not find a better equipped or more luxuriously appointed room anywhere! Well for sure, we never have. It’s just gorgeous and even nicer than the photos. Dining at La Maison is a wonderful experience, no menus and no real idea of what you may be served, however we soon got used to the delight and surprise of something different each evening. Especially when we were served with a light meal having indulged at lunch. We looked forward to the breakfast each morning, as each day we were served something different and delicious. The coffee is just great too. The conversion of a 1000 year old historic building is detailed and impressive, imaginative and stylish use of colour, materials and overall finish as good or better than we have seen anywhere in the world, including five star Relais et Château hotels. Bathrooms are simply exquisite, we particularly loved the perfumed essential oil capsules which placed in the shower produced the most delightful showering experience delivered through super large rain shower heads. But probably the stand out memory is the charm, warmth and humour of our hosts, Francois and Herve. They are simply wonderful. You will arrive as customers but leave as friends. We will be returning to La Maison du Passage again and again and we can highly recommend this small Chambre D’hote for a luxurious, romantic and relaxing holiday in a beautifully rural part of South West France. Thank you for making our stay so special and memorable. Warm regards Coleen and Philip. …
