Detailed Reviews
We stayed in F106 in early January. The Pros: 1)Location, location, location- if you are all about Bowman's Beach. It was a leisurely walk over a walkway bridge to the beach in less than 10 minutes, and that was going down the beach away from minimal crowds. Go to the left as the public beach is to the right and got quite crowded. It is about 10-15 minutes either direction to restaurants/stores (Captive or Sanibel), and only a few minutes to the Ding Darling Wildlife refuge entrance. 2)The unit is spacious and nicely decorated. It was clean although we had to wait over 1.5 hours after the designated checkin time before it was ready. 3)Finishes are nice and the sofas are comfortable and look new. The dining room table was big and comfortable too. 4)Use of an entry code was nice to avoid keeping track of a key. 5) Washer/dryer and dishwasher are handy. 6)Beach wagon and cart provided with some chairs and toys but... CONS: 1) The beach wagon is in rough shape and hard to pull with broken tires. The cart was better but small. The beach chairs are terrible. They look new but are not comfortable and not adjustable. This is a deal breaker for me. If we had it to do over again, we would go to Fort Meyer and buy some. We looked in Sanibel but they were $65 and not even that great. 2)Lanai is large enough, but right next to an a/c unit that runs loudly. There is no view. 3)Kitchen provisions are minimal and not in great shape like pans for instance. The refrigerator makes a strange knocking sound on the hour. It sounds like someone knocking softly. Creeped me out more that once in the middle of the night. I am a light sleeper to be fair. 4)Beds are just okay. 5) Paper products are minimal and inferior quality. Stock up on your way. Overall, it was a good choice with some modifications needed. We would stay there again but not necessarily that unit because of the beach accessories which are essential to us as beach people.

F210 was a wonderful place to stay. The condo is well stocked, clean and very well laid out with the bedrooms on either end of the condo with each having a bathroom. Plenty of room.
The best thing about the condo is Shah, the owner. Never ever have we had customer service like he provided us. We had a problem with the TV and he personally came over to help, couldn’t figure it out and promised to have the cable company here the next morning. Sure enough, first thing in the morning they showed up, fixed the problem.
His beautiful art hands in the condo- take a minute to look. Excellent
We contacted him a few times prior to coming and after we got her and he usually responded to emails within 15 minutes. Amazing. If there is no other reason to request this condo, he’s enough. Besides, the condo is great.
We used the pool a lot and it was nice to have so close. We spent most of our days on the beach in the nice warm, clean water- wonderful and a short walk with a shell cleaning station on the way back
It was nice not to have lots of condos or buildings around this complex It felt private and homey.
Highly recommend

We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo (A105). It had everything you could ask for. Furniture was in great shape. We like to cook our own meals when staying in a condo for an extended period of time. The kitchen had everything we needed.
The condo was very roomy and the tv had all the channels we needed
There were beach accessories for our use, including chairs, umbrella, a wheeled cart to carry everything
The beach was located out the back of the property, maybe a 5 minute walk down a path.
Lots and lots of seashells
Sunsets were spectacular
We would stay again

We had hoped to have a relaxing week in this unit. When we arrived the parking space for this unit was a long way from the units entrance. Not convenient to bring in baggage and groceries.
The unit was well equipped with every kitchen tool imaginable, however the appliances were old, the ice maker only made 12 ice cubes in a 24 hour period and we had to make our own ice using ice trays., The small corner sink was impossible to wash anything.
The furniture in the website looked great HOWEVER the love seat is collapsing and the cushions were dirty . Suggest that the owners replace with a couple of recliners.
The TV only had a few local channels as it was Direct TV and the TV in the living room picture is fading.
The second bedroom could not be used as the building has 4 flood lights by the bedroom window that are on 24/7 and light up the bedroom like daylight.
There were no extra pillow slips for the pillows in the closet that did not have slips on them.
When we got out of the shower the first night and were walking on the tile floors our feet were Black from the dirt. They apparently vacuumed the floor but did not mop.
We complained to the office and they said they would remind them to do better for the next tenants.
The worst item was that this is a wooden building and there are TWO separate town houses above this unit. From the time we moved in until 1 or 2 in the morning it sounded like a herd of elephant above us. We did go up and ask for them to walk softer and they were sorry and tried to walk softer but by Wednesday we were ready to leave.
Then the A/C in ALL units is set at 72 degrees. You can't change it to be a little cooler to sleep. Also it appeared that the unit cut off in the middle of the night because it got up to 77 Degrees at 4 am.
The building complex is in need of repairs, The brick walkways have broken and raised bricks and the tennis court needs to be resurfaced, the wooden post holding up the second floor balconies are rotten at the bottom, We were surprised that the County inspectors were not checking this complex for these issues.
We tried to leave a review on the Blind pass site so that the owner and future tenants would be aware of the problems and what the owners could do to make their unit more enjoyable. However they removed our comments.

Locals and long time Sanibel visitors often refer to Blind Pass as the Best Kept Secret on Sanibel. Since this condo is the only complex on Bowman's Beach, it never gets overcrowded even during the high season. Often during the year it literally feels like you have your own private beach. When you are at the beach all you will see is the open sea, sand and tropical vegetation.
There are quiet courtyards and winding footpaths lined with lush tropical trees and foliage throughout the complex.
It's just a short walk down to the sandy path leading to the beach. You'll cross a footbridge that spans a lagoon full of fish and crabs -- and the exotic wading birds that come there to dine on them! You'll see egrets, herons, ibis, pelicans, and even the rare roseate spoonbill. Canoes and kayaks are available for a quiet paddle through nature. As you continue down the path to the beach, you'll pass a pair of nesting ospreys and hear the gentle surf up ahead. Then you'll see the Gulf of Mexico lapping at the white sandy beach that stretches for miles in both directions.
You'll have no shortage of options as you plan your day. Tennis, swimming, fishing, nature walks, shelling, and lounging on the beach are just a few of the activities you'll enjoy.
This three bedroom, two bath condo can accommodate 8 adults. It is a large unit with a king sized bed in the master, one queen bed as well as four twin sized beds. This condo is perfect for families or couples traveling together. If you have kids, there is a fully stocked closet with beach and pool toys. There is a TV in every room as well as a DVD and VCR available. Free wireless internet is accessible from this unit if you choose to keep in touch with the real world. Every creature comfort is available. For those of you traveling with you children, there is a pack and play as well as a high chair and stroller in the unit.
Lovely family vacation property!

We stayed in unit B110. the pictures looked so nice. The reality is different. The unit is dated and old. The wall paper in the bathrooms is starting to peel off the walls . One bathroom had a leak coming from the toilet above. It was running down the shade in the bathroom. The screens were full of holes and you couldn't use the screen porch because the door was kicked in, the other door had a torn screen and in the bottom screen an animal ( a rat perhaps ) had chewed a round hole through the screen. The carpets were stained and the kitchen floor had spots on it. I complained and they cleaned the carpets but the stains remained. cabinets in both bathrooms are falling apart. It is LONG walk to the beach. They showed pictures of kayakers, but the water is dark brown and creepy do we kayaked up at Tarpon Bay. The pool chairs are mostly really dirty so they need to be covered with towels. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here

We rented this unit based on the photos and a 4 star rating. The unit was a huge disappointment—the carpet was badly stained, the screens in the porch had holes in them, wires were hanging from the ceiling. A dead wasp was in the dining room and one of the dining room chairs was soiled and badly ripped. After complaining to management, we were moved to a first floor condo that was better but still not super clean. Both units need updating and a fresh coat of paint. Electrical appliances were old, noisy and broken. Door frames were dirty and worn down; kitchen had very little supplies. Electric stove from the 60s.
The bathrooms were very basic. I think the bathrooms are probably nicer at a highway motel.
The pool was nice but several chairs were badly stained and worn out. Beach is beautiful but a good half mile walk from condos.
We would never stay here again.

We stayed at Blind Pass Condos unit C109 for a week. The unit is very clean and well stocked with beach chairs, umbrella, beach cart and sand toys and coolers. The kitchen has just about everything you could need. It’s close to the pool and a short walk to the beach. We had a fun, comfortable stay and would stay there again!

Bowman's Beach is a great Sanibel beach that is recognized for the shelling. Additionally, it is a wide, long beach that has lots of room and we found it extremely uncrowded. The warm, gentle Gulf water was perfect for my 20 month old.
My understnding is that Blind Pass condos are the only rentable condos on Bowman's Beach. We stayed there recently and had a good experience. Bowman's Beach is a few minute walk over a lagoon from the complex. It is true to the complex is older but it doesn't necessarily mean that your unit will be "tired". Their website posts pictures of the units, so I encourage you to look at the units to find one that appears to have been remodeled recently. Besides, who goes to Sanibel to spend lots of time in their room anyway???
In addition, should you wish to also spend time on Captiva, this is a good location. Captiva was just a few mintues away. It is true that Blind Pass is on the east end of Sanibel and away from downtown. However, if you go in May you will find that driving around is no problem. The drive to the shops and restaurants on Periwinkle seemed short.
Our unit was clean, light and bright, and very comfortable. We had the convenience of a full kitchen with newer appliances, a DVD player, three TVs (one in the living room, and one for each bedroom), and various things that made our stay good. For example, there were beach toys in our unit, a cooler, an umbella, beach towels etc. Also, our patio had a hose which was good for cleaning our shells and beach items when we returned from the beach. The pool area was also pleasant. This complex is extremely quiet and I think a good value for families. We paid 795/week for our unit. Prices vary depending on the unit. Additionally, I think these units are fairly spacious when compared to many rental condos.

This was our first visit to Sanibel Island and we had a great time. We wanted to stay somewhere near the beach that was not too crowded and was a good price. From it's website, Blind Pass Condos appeared to satisfy our requirements. However, we were somewhat hesitant because we did not see many reviews about it. We decided to give it a try and were very pleased with our stay. The condos are located in a quiet, secluded area within a short walk of beautiful Bowman's Beach. The grounds of the condo are beautifully landscaped, although the exterior of the buildings do show age. Our condo, C208, was very clean and comfortable and was well stocked with all the linens, kitchen utensils, dishes, etc. that we needed. We recommend stocking up on food supplies before getting to the island as the grocery stores on the island are quite expensive. There is a Walmart and several Publix grocery stores in Fort Myers that are on the way to the island. We loved Sanibel and Captiva Islands and are looking forward to going back again soon!

Hi Ginny -- Thank you for your question. G101 is one of just a few units that is not in the official rental program at Blind Pass -- that means it is rented only directly through the owner. So you can contact the owners of G101 to find out whether they have these items in their unit. All of the units in the rental program are required to have the basic beach needs covered -- including the towels, chairs, umbrella, etc. Most of the units go even further than that, with beach carts, sand toys, beach games, coolers and other items to enhance your fun at the beach. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Did you ever book it? I've heard it has no beach stuff at all.
