I was happy as a little clam at the Kona Kai. It was on the main road almost exactly in the middle of the developed part of the island. I’m not a big beach person, so I found the location to be perfect. As out of shape as I was, I was able to bicycle easily down to the lighthouse,...

My wife and I stayed at the Kona Kai for one week during the prime tourist season. I would agree with most of the prior reviews. The people who work at the hotel are wonderful and do everything they can to make your stay memorable. The place is very unique with an Hawaiian feel to the grounds and buildings. It...

We've stayed here twice before. It is quiet, comfortable and convenient. This time we booked late, and the only room available was a suite with kitchen. It was expensive, but we thought we would save by not going out to dinner. But there were almost no kitchen utensils, pots, pans, etc. Pretty much just silverware and dishes. They should not...

We spent five nights at this older, but quite wonderful motel. Our efficiency was clean, well maintained, quiet and most important -- comfortable. The grounds are lush and beautiful. This is about as far away from a chain hotel that you can get -- and that's what we wanted. We also did not want to spend a fortune and on...

We definitely picked the short straw in the room allocation (room 1). Our room had virtually no natural light and faced a busy road. The room was cramped and poorly laid out. We were supposed to have a little porch with chairs and table (as advertised on their website), which we didn't. Many of the other rooms in the motel...

My sister and I stayed here while attending a family wedding on Sanibel. Kona Kai was a really cute little place. We had a motel room, it was pretty small, but very clean. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the room right in the front, attached to the parking lot, sow e felt like we...

We always stay here when we visit Sanibel. We love the room layout and the get a room with the larger kitchen; with a little ingenuity, you can make dinner for 4-6 people. The beds are comfy and the location is fantastic, right across from bike rental and just down the street from Jerry's grocery and great ice cream in...

Must have picked the best time to stay in Sanibel. Got a great price for a suite. Kitchenette made the stay even better. More space than normal for this type of accomodation. Would stay here again in the future.

We stayed four nights, not enough time in Sanibel thou! Girls getaway trip. Fabulous location on the island. Great access to bike rental shop, convenience store for quick provisions needed, restaurants, grocery store. Everything a person could need is right here conveniently located to Kona Kai. Beach access is an easy bike ride from the motel. Very clean, quiet rooms...
