Hotel's Favourite
I cannot say enough about this amazing place. Our family with young children had a spectacular trip. The condo we stayed in had a great kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms and was on the beach. The pool was warm, clean, and close by. This will go down as a favorite family vacation. Highly recommend!

The resort is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in Unit #231 on the gulf side (not gulf front) and were only a 2 minute walk from the front door to the beach. The staff brings out beach chairs and umbrellas each morning, but if you're an early bird, you can help yourself to picking a spot on the beach earlier. The pools are reasonably sized and were pleasantly warm during our visit. The resort also offers a towel exchange each day from 9 AM - noon. My only wish was that the hours on this were earlier in the morning or an afternoon option as most days we were already at the beach or headed off in the car for a day of exploring.
Each unit is individually owned so I can only comment on #231. The unit is slightly dated, but has most everything you would need for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped if you're interested in preparing meals. If you have not been to Sanibel before, there are only a couple local grocery stores on the island (Jerry's & Bailey's General Store were the closes to our resort). These places have everything you need, but if you are looking for a little more variety or lower prices, there are several options before crossing the toll bridge such as Publix, Wal-Mart & Aldi's. There was also a hair dryer, small cooler for the beach, and the resort was able to rent us a crib for our 2 year old daughter. Don't forget to bring a beach bag and beach towels so you can tote your beach supplies back and forth from the gulf. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

This was our first time staying in a condo in Sanibel. The check in was by using their app and any questions were answered by phone call or text. The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommending a restaurant or finding supplies for our stay. The 2 bedroom condo (1012)had a beach view with a large screened in patio. The condo was very clean, and stocked with towels, soap and kitchen necessities. Their was cable TV and great WIFI for our use. I was impressed with the decor, the comfortable living room, and the modern kitchen appliances. We enjoyed the pool, and also used the gas grill available for guests. The beach was fantastic, I have never seen a cleaner beach with pure white sand and unlimited seashells everywhere. The resort had beach chairs and umbrellas to use on a first come basis. We rented bicycles from the resort and rode the paved bike trails which will take you all over the entire island. I only wished we could stay longer. We already booked for stay for next year.

We stayed in room 311 and while the ground floor unit doesn’t have a beach view, the views from the screened patio of the tropical landscaping are very cozy. The unit was extremely clean and stocked with all amenities to enjoy cooking meals from the comfort of the condo. Hurricane Elsa made an appearance during our stay and the staff here made sure we always felt informed and prepared should we need to take action. Luckily we were provided free movie rentals while sheltered inside and used the rainy day to frequent the laundry facilities and get things cleaned up. The staff here were out promptly upon the storms passing to start clean up efforts. We very much enjoy the beach and pool here and with onsite grills, we have saved good time and money by eating “at home” during our stay and in turn having more time to relax and enjoy the view. Absolutely recommend Sanibel Moorings and we are already plotting our return!

Our condo was impeccably clean and well appointed. Nice touches like slow-close cabinets and recessed lighting were appreciated. The staff checked on us via text about three times during our stay. This made it easy to connect regarding getting fresh towels, etc. the location was idyllic. The grounds were very well kept and beautiful. Location was convenient for reaching restaurants along the main drag, but felt secluded and exclusive. We’ll be back!

Sanibel moorings grounds are gorgeous, perfectly landscaped botanical gardens which open to a perfect Sanibel beach with excellent shelling. Kari the general manager and her staff are attentive, personable and create an environment that is second to none on the island. The location on the east end is on the beach as well as the canal system and is a quick bike ride away from great shopping, fine dining, great fishing! I would recommend the moorings to anyone looking to visit Sanibel island.

Let’s start with the positives. While the room was outdated it was clean, comfortable and acceptable for a 4 night stay. Loved the Gulf view and walking distance right to the beach. Grounds were immaculate. Parking was easy as well. You won’t see the sunset from this location, but if you take a 10 minute morning walk you’ll see a beautiful sunrise. The location was ideal for touring the island. Close to e everything.
Now let’s get to the negatives. Customer service was poor. I was on the beach every morning at 7am watching the resort next door setting up beach chairs and umbrellas. This is a big deal for me. I expected to be on the beach by 8 and I wasn’t. Some mornings we had to wait until 10am. We had to pay $5 per towel for the beach. Never heard of something so ridiculous in my life. The lady at the front desk was a little snark with me a few times when I requested fresh towels. They should have been provided each morning. The paddle board expensive and extremely old. So old the dye was washing into the Gulf water.
Overall a nice place with poor customer service. Not sure I would stay again.

Thank you so much for your honest review! While we would NEVER call out our neighbors for breaking the law, Sanibel has a VERY strict ordinance regarding beach equipment being placed onto the beach unattended early in the morning during sea turtle season; from 5/1/21 -10/31/21. Sanibel Moorings unlocks our self-serve beach chairs and umbrellas at 7:00am for guests to take to the beach, ensuring that our equipment is attended to by the guest that takes carries down. We wait until 9:30am to send our team to assist those that need additional assistance, which is a popular time for our guests to head out to the beach, again ensuring that there is no unattended equipment in the sea turtles’ way! Please don't forget that you have options for pool/beach towels. You can bring your own, rent from us for just $5 per towel PER STAY, or purchase a lovely beach towel in our gift shop as a souvenir! You can also request fresh towels each day through our laundry exchange by calling the laundry room directly. We are sorry that you must not have seen this in your arrival package. We do hope you will come back and see us again!

We were so happy to be able to get two condos for our family during these very trying times. As usual the grounds at Sanibel Moorings are beautiful, the weather is exactly what you want in the summertime, lighthouse Café is right down the street and they went out of their way to make sure things were properly cleaned and social distancing must follow. I've been coming here for over 30 years and will be scheduling the next trip soon.

Sanibel Moorings was the perfect place for a getaway during these covid times! Check in was safe and easy, the condo was pristine, plenty of cleansers and hand sanitizer in the condo, and it was only at 40% capacity, so it felt very quiet. Beach was pretty quiet, we walked out at 2pm and got an umbrella easily. I hesitate to rave too much, because I selfishly want to stay here again and don't want it too full!
A wonderful experience in Sanibel paradise!

Our first time in Sanibel and staying at Sanibel Moorings and I am, truly, dreaming of another visit. Booking experience was totally online and there was a lot of clear and helpful communication every step of the way. Our arrival and check in was "curbside" as their office was closed due to coronavirus concerns but it was also fast and easy. The person who came out was friendly and helpful. Our condo was lovely and fully equipped and extra towels were provided in advance...the beds were VERY comfortable and everything was CLEAN! The only thing missing (for us) was a keurig coffee maker but there was the standard drip type coffee maker.
The location of the resort was so peaceful yet not too far from stores/shops and right on the beach. The grounds were so serene. There were many little hidden spots with chairs and fountains to sit beside and enjoy. The resort pool areas were also lovely, lots of comfortable seating, everything so neat and clean. We also used the community grills for dinner one evening and that worked well for us.
Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful and following mask & distancing guidelines (required at the time of our visit).
Yes, it was hot, yes it was humid and yes there were tons of bugs including small biting bugs on the beach at night but - Florida.
Definitely would recommend Sanibel Moorings if you are seeking a quiet beach getaway in this gorgeous area of Florida's west coast!!

You can go to their website and check prices. The price will vary depending on the time you go. When we went it was about $1100 for 4 nights.
When we were in the office, I noticed a sign for bikes etc. to rent. Although I did not specifically check out the prices, I got the impression they were reasonable. If you want, you can call and ask at the office.
There are hair dryers and irons in the units. You start your stay with a set of toiletries, which pretty much lasted me the week (I couple). If you need specifics, you can call the office and ask.
The governor opened the state so all is open. In June, we did not need masks anywhere.
Yes it was disappointing but just changed July 1!! See summary - go to website to read more. Enjoy - amazing place still!
