Detailed Reviews
If you’d like to gaze at the ocean from 20 stories up, rent a condo. If you’d like to escape to the tropics, consider the Two Fish Inn in St. James City on Florida’s Pine Island. Rather than high-rises, the tallest thing you’re likely to see here are the trees. In fact, much of Pine Island is home to tropical nurseries.
As you leave the mainland’s Cape Coral and cross the bridge to pastel Matlacha, artist community and charming, walkable island of shops and restaurants, you seem to pass through a dreamscape that filters cares and troubles before allowing you to proceed to Pine Island. Now you’re in the right frame of mind for the Two Fish bungalows Jenny and Charlie have waiting for you.
The Inn’s beautifully landscaped grounds include a Tiki Hut, pool and patio overlooking its boat docks on Dawson Canal, leading to boating, fishing or just spending time with the dolphins of Sanibel, Captiva, Cayo Costa and Boca Grande, Pine Island’s barrier Islands. The Island’s bike path is being extended in front of the Inn as of this writing.
The six suites are comfortable with well-appointed, tropical decor. One of the nicest things about the rooms is there are only six. As a result, over our seven January’s here, we have made good friends from MA, MI, IN and DE. We look forward to reconvening with them every year for the hikes, fishing, boating, cocktails and appetizers in the Tiki Hut, cookouts on the patio and dining at the Island’s many restaurants, four within a five-minute walk.
Jenny and Charlie couldn’t be nicer and more accommodating.
If you’re anything like us, when you leave Two Fish at the end of your stay and cross the Matlacha bridge, you’ll smile thinking it’s only eleven months ‘til you’re back.

We have fallen in love with St. James City and have been staying at the Two Fish Inn for a month for many years. If you are lucky enough to get a room here you won't be disappointed. Owners, Stephanie and Greg, are awesome. They are fun, personable, charming, and helpful. Your suite has everything you need to stay for a day, a month, or longer. Amenities include a Tiki Hut, small pool, and a deck overlooking the canal. If you have a boat, there is dockage right on the canal. In addition, there is laundry, kayak and boat rentals and, a cute gift shop. In our opinion this is the best place to stay in St. James City! Can't wait to get back!

My family and I had an amazing time at the Two Fish Inn! We stayed in a one-bedroom suite with a kitchen and water view. The room was stocked with everything we could possibly need. We were even able to bring our boat! The owners, Steph and Greg were so welcoming and the gift shop is adorable, full of local soaps and jewelry. We can't wait to return next year :)

Stephanie is amazing!! I wanted to have flowers delivered to the room prior to arrival for my Moms birthday. It was kinda last minute soo..Stephanie offered to drive to Publix to pick up flowers AND champagne! I would recommend 2 Fish Inn to anyone that appreciates attention to detail and great customer service! Thank you Stephanie!

Two Fish Inn is an amazing place to visit. The rooms are clean with colorful, with decorative decor. Our family loves to go fishing during the day and come back and relax at the tiki hut while our kids play in the pool. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We love vacationing all through out the year at Two Fish.

Enjoy a quiet time relaxing in the sun on a beautiful deck, or sometimes seeing dolphins in the canal with a quaint tropical like setting. The owners Jenny and Charlie are good people and like family. The rooms are very clean and accommodating. My husband and I have been spending the month of February at the Two Fish for about 15 years meeting and making good friends. Always looking forward to our visit.

Two Fish Inn is a delightful and laid-back “old Florida” gem! We explored Pine Island for three weeks and it is hands down the best place to stay. It’s clean, friendly, quiet and the hosts, Steph and Greg couldn’t be more accommodating. We kept our boat tied up in front of our patio-front suite with an adorable pool/lanai, grill & laundry within steps. Our sweet dog was welcomed and became an adored fixture there for awhile. The marina and tiki bars are right across the street, wide bicycle sidewalks all 17 miles of the island and there are lots of preserves and trails to explore. We will be back😁😁🐶

Decided to get out of Ohio for a week with some friends for 6 days and choose The Two Fish Inn. Wonderful personalized service, VERY clean rooms thoughtfully decorated with outstanding Tiki hut and new patio & pool. Jenny & Charlie a gracious hosts then go the extra mile for their guests. This is truly "Old Florida" style with great bars and restaurants in walking distance.
