Detailed Reviews
This is a great location - we had a weekend kayaking and it's a great place for that. The site is quiet (ALWAYS a plus) and there are a lot of folks who stay there longer term which always says a lot. My only issue was this...we paid for a 50amp power feed and once we'd backed into a (pretty small) site and went to hook up we realized we only had 30 amp. It really wasn't a huge deal as it wasn't the height of the summer, but when we asked on our way out we were told "we offer both, but if we don't have it available when you get here, you get what you get". So why do they specify differences on the website, I ask? No refund of any kind was offered either.
So..cautionary tale, double check BEFORE you get settled in.

This is a reasonably nice RV park in a good location. We booked two months here. Our experience has been mostly positive. Everyone is very friendly, and there are lots of workers (DK if they’re paid employees or volunteers). However, we woke this morning to severe storms and a tornado warning. We didn’t actually hear any sirens within the park; the warning came through our phones, and we were also watching the television news. Shockingly, there is no designated storm shelter on the property. There is a sign in the restroom/shower house specifically stating that it is not to be used as a storm shelter, although a dozen or so of us gathered there. The best advice from the KOA workers was to remain in our campers or drive into town. ?!?! Thank goodness, we got only rain and a little thunder. But there oughta be a law…. There was a mobile home park in the next county that was hit, with multiple homes destroyed and people injured. It could have been us.

I am new the the RVing community and took a trip in my new (to me) Class C with my husband and dog. I booked this KOA Campground without knowing that it was actually on Pine Island, and found a bottleneck to Pine Island when I arrived; however, that bottleneck never reappeared and getting on and off Pine Island was no problem. When I arrived at the KOA, I was assigned a greeter in a golf cart who took me to my assigned lot. He was helpful, later giving my husband the needed end for a hookup of the cable television, and pleasant. The KOA was clean and while there was not much room between lots, the park was very quiet. There is a nice office and laundry facility that I availed myself of, and showers that I did not.

We are new to camping and are trying to get our dogs used to being in the motorhome so we booked close to home. The campground is very nice, we were parked by a small lake with some very friendly turtles checking us out from the water. Vickie was the person we communicated. We were checked on before we got there and then when we checked in. We have had email communications that were answered very quickly.
We highly recommend this campground.

I had booked 13 days and stayed 11 more on site 3. This campground is very well run. The location is quiet and within driving distance to several good restruants. The spaces are nice with a pad and table. The staff are very friendly and so are the campers. I will be back for a longer stay.

The Fort Myers Pine Island KOA, which was devastated with Ian in 2022 looks wonderful. The new manager is a real go-getter. She has accomplished so much., there’s beautiful landscaping now she has accomplished many things in the last year. She’s always willing to help and always open to suggestions, I recommend this park. If you can get a spot at this KOA this is a wonderful place to visit everyone here is like family.

Took a hit from IAN but this place is working hard to get back together. Had a great stay. The front of the park is looking good and they are hard at work on the back. The staff could not be any nicer!! Even let us borrow their own fire pit for a campfire! ( free wood too!) nice clean pool and hot tub, dog park , playground, shuffleboard, corn hole, clean, quiet and on a nice part of pine island. ( oh and they are resurfacing the tennis/pickleball courts). Worth the trip.

We stayed here, for one week, Pre-hurricane Ian. This was a wonderful RV site. We stayed in site # 303, patio, and it was like we had our own little paradise next to lake. The turtles were a lot of fun. Every morning looking for handouts. All the facilities were great 10+. Staff was great. pool and spa were excellent. We would stay again. Side note. Heard pine island got hit bad and KOA is closed until further notice. Unable to find out any info on how this KOA did? I hope it came out with not too much damage. The KOA key west came back better after a rebuild. I hope this one does the same. Prayers to everyone on Island.

We decided to take a quick weekend trip so we looked at a map of Florida, West Coast, within 2 hours of our "home port". We found Pine Island RV Resort. Website looked good. We booked it. Hopped in the great beast and drove south following the Google map directions, which were flawless.
Unfortunately, when you're driving a 37' RV at 50 mph (the posted speed limit) on a two lane road and are looking for a road sign that doesn't exist, well, it makes things difficult. Not only was there no street sign, the signage for the property itself was set back. You ever try to stop a 37' RV quickly? It. doesn't. happen.
You have to find a place to turn around and then find the right entry. The entry drive was nice. It was after 8PM and we thought, well, there must be paperwork. My husband parked the beast and went to look. A staff member who lives on site noticed us come in and came out to help -- NOTE: HE WAS NOT WORKING, HE CAME OUT ANYWAY - hopped in a golf cart and guided us to our site and helped us dock. Above and beyond the call of duty in my book. Bob, you ROCK.
We were unable to find the cable hookup so went to our antenna. Just a few channels. Okay, fine. The next morning the staff came out and found where the cable connection was. Honestly, the antenna had a better quality of picture. Internet said WIFI available. Well, yeah - kind of. You had to turn on your laptop, look for connections, click on "tengo" and then register. Sooooo, they want me to register and pay for a 2 day wifi connection with a company I don't know, putting my cc number out there on wifi? Really? Luckily, TengoInternet offered a one hour free trial. After 15 minutes of thinking that the old dial up service would be faster, I gave up.
I'm not sure what the heck is going on here -- this property is an Encore Property as well as a KOA property. Whhhhhhaaaatttttttt??? The only people more confused than me were the staff. Those poor people have to dance to two different tunes, following two sets of guidelines and rules and dealing with two different reservation systems at the same time.
Let me state this clearly -- the staff was wonderful. They were kind, friendly and helpful. The problems with this property fall squarely on the shoulders of Encore/KOA.
The entry was nice. The reception/store area was spotless. The laundry facility clean. The clubhouse we could not enter because the front doors were locked although the signage clearly stated they should be open. (The double doors were impressive from a distance but up close - ugh, get a power washer out please). The pool area? Yeah, that's where they spent the money. It's stunning. Large pool, spa area, huge grill, lovely landscaping leading up to the entry gate, potted plants and lots of lounge chairs.
The problems? They advertise tennis courts. Yep, there it is. Tennis court. In the middle of a field. Just a tennis court. In. A. Field. No walkway to it. No tables, chairs for your gear or a momentary rest. No umbrella to get out of the sun. No water fountain. Nothing. Just a tennis court in the middle of a field.
We came with no tow vehicle. When we saw the Encore bus we thought WOW, how cool - they take people around. Normally we call Enterprise for a car. We went to the RV park office the next morning to ask about the bus - she informed us that the bus doesn't run if it isn't "High Season" and Enterprise generally refuses to come and get customers like they advertise unless it's High Season. Soooo, we're stuck.... in a cattle pasture.... with no shade....and some guy blaring his 1940's country music from his rig down the road. Utterly NOT charming.
Pet friendly? You betcha. You can bring your furry friend and when he/she does his/her business and you bag it. Where do you put it? There are NO trash cans anywhere. No doggie depots for the bags. There are two dumpsters near the entry to the park. Not convenient. They do collect trash daily but you can only put out trash between 9 and 10 AM. Not smart.
You park your RV in what I can only assume was at one time a cattle pasture. One that has changed only in the sense that pads and power and sewer were placed. This is the most boring, the most stark place I have ever parked the beast. No character whatsoever.
I am certain that were Encore and KOA to ever come in and look at this place, they'd both be horrified. There would be finger pointing and blame placing.
Oh and can someone please explain the daily "resort fee"? Seriously?
Sadly, we will never again venture to Pine Island or it's "RV Resort". Such a waste, so much potential, such great employees, so little guidance, vision or follow through. Total disappointment.

Neither. You must bring your own grill. Unlike most KOAs, there are no fire pits. Some campers bring those metal ones on stands but management often bans them as well. Also, I see your cute baby pic so bring LOTS of bug spray. The "no see ems" are vicious! The island surrounded by mangroves so there are lots of biting bugs. It's main features are fishing, music and art - no beaches.
I had Verizon it worked fine. Don't know about AT&T. Camp host will be able to help you.
