I must say that I checked online for a week, every hotel and bed and breakfast in the area. Our first trip, last year, yielded us an OK place, but we had to drive and park, or be at the mercy of a trolley that only ran to our hotel until 4:30. I knew that this second trip needed to... More

Thank you for both your stay and a glowing review! I always like swapping military stories, it's what vets do best (besides complaining about the VA....but you know what they say, if a soldier's not complaining, he isn't happy).... Y'all come back now, y'hear?! More

The Pirate Haus is a funky little hotel in downtown St. Augustine. It is a block off St. George Street which makes a perfect location. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are a old, but very clean and comfortable. I will definitely go back.

4th time visiting, still an excellent place to stay. The people who run it are very nice. This location is a 10 minute walk (Tops) from most things you want to see or do in Historic St. Augustine. We would stay there again.

I had read reviews and the website's own admission of the limitations of the facility so I didnt have high expectations. I found that the owner/manager was very honest in his description of the facility and what is provided. We arrived after 8pm so the 3 first come/first serve parking spaces were taken but the desk clerk gave us a... More

thank you for your most excellent review. Your description is spot on, so hopefully future potential guests will read it and make their decision whether or not to stay based on it. I hope to acquire a couple more King beds in the near future for rooms in which they will fit. Thank you again for your stay and taking... More

Pirate house is an older facility. Nothing fancy. No TV. No elevator to rooms which are all one floor up. Staff is very nice. Owner makes pancakes every morning. Rooms are all decorated with unique styles. Kids will love it. Great way to stay in old town for a moderate price. WiFi worked well.

This place could have gone either way. Normal etiquette says it should have been "prettier" inside, but when you're staying at a place called the Pirate House, etiquette goes out the window. This isn't your auntie's B&B first off. A dozen steps start your entrance up onto the second floor of one of the ancient structures in historic downtown St... More

thanks for yer kind words! the A/C unit is a supplement to the central air vent. The room was supposed to get a second air vent, but due to a beam running through the attic ended up with only one. Good thing we don't cater to 'the refined'! But seriously, if you can think of anything that would have been... More

The room was clean and well kept. The staff were nice, providing us with pancakes even after breakfast was over. We had a special request for a fan and they made it immediately. Convenient location to everything. We would go back for sure.

If you are traveling with small children, they will flip for this place. My teen daughter loved it. I wish we could have stayed longer. This was our first time staying in a B&B and we loved it! We stayed on a Wednesday night for $87.50 including auce pancakes and parking. After we parked our car we walked everywhere. Thank you for staying with us. Our small nature allows us to pay individual attention to most of our guests. Comfortable rooms and beds are only a part of the equation ensuring our guests have a good time in St. Augustine and make the most of their visit by avoiding 'bad' food and tourist traps. More
