Out of 10 hotels we stayed at during a 2-week trip to Florida, Embassy Suites surpassed our expectations for comfort, cleanliness and amenities. The front-desk staff was professional and polite, and the suites were large and sparkling clean with 2 TV's, 2 bathroom sinks, a sitting area and mini-kitchen. Breakfast was exceptionally good (considering Covid) with made-to-order eggs, potatoes and pancakes served in sanitary containers, as well as individually-wrapped muffins, danish and bagels, fresh apples, juices and hi-quality coffee, tea and soda served up by a nice breakfast lady behind a counter. We especially loved the expansive lobby with breakfast tables arranged around a lovely pond and waterfall, home to two Royal Mute Swans, Bach and Beethoven. The setting was perfect and so different from other hotels that give out brown bag breakfasts to be eaten in your room and don't even allow relaxing in the lobby for fear of Covid. Embassy Suites pampered us and made us feel normal during the pandemic -- we hope to return soon!…
The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The rooms are a nicer than any Embassy we have stayed in. There was a large group of athletes staying there and we could not get an elevator this morning for about 15 minutes and ended up walking down the stairs. My wife loved the two swans and made several trips to the lobby to see them The swans could care less, they were happy in their own world.
The lobby had an aesthetically pleasing atrium featuring a pond with a small waterfall & two live swans. The hotel boasts 160 rooms, but unfortunately always had one person at the front desk having to do it all. I received none of the usual Gold Member perks. The Honors app suggested we take room 201, but I took the room above it, after reading about pool noise. The room was FAR from the elevator and outdated. It had a smell of mildew which I guess I got use to. The shower stall had a lump of hair on the wall. Both tv remotes were dead. The internet was VERY spotty & drove me crazy while I worked. The premium channels would often flash no signal. The chafing dish breakfast given out was a choice of eggs or pancakes, put in a styrofoam container. Another area had coffee, yogurt & a pastry. The place was pretty much a ghost town, probably due to Covid. The gym was empty, while the pool area hardly ever had anyone there. Next time I return, I will spend a little more money and go back to the Homewood Suites, a MUCH better choice.…
Suite-style rooms (separate living and bedroom) is great and what made me choose this hotel for our family vacation. It even has a kitchenette and small eating area which are perfect for my family (2 adults 2 kids). I wanted to like this hotel because of these features but we were surprised how old and outdated the hotel was. PROS: Separate living and bedrooms very convenient for my family. It "smelled clean" as one of my kids noted when we entered the building. Contactless check-in was great. The included breakfast choices during covid was very basic but I appreciated that they were sealed and warm coffee was served. The limited staff we saw were kind. CONS: The hotel was old...had popcorn ceilings and older style furnishings. Microwave did not work properly and shower pressure was lacking. All signs noted mask requirements throughout but they were not enforced. It was easy to bump into a group of people unmasked in the elevator. Since we were still in the middle of a pandemic, we were cautious and opted to wait for empty elevators. Wished the mask requirements were enforced.…
I recently stayed at this location during my travels to Florida. I must say I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the building and friendliness of the staff! The swans in the lobby are a beautiful addition. I would most certainly recommend and would return in a heartbeat. The GM is doing an amazing job. Kudos to her for building a solid team! Keep up the great work!
