Stayed for a week. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Staff helpful, patience and friendly. The “kick backs” we’re more than filling we ate them four nights and enjoyed them. Breakfast was hot, clean and well organised. I loved the fact you could make a great cup of coffee and take it away. Housekeeping very good. No issues. Would happily stay again. Room was clean, fresh and large enough for two. Fantastic little fridge for holding snacks and drinks.

As far as value hotels go, this is about as good as it gets. Being a more frugal choice in a city dripping in hundreds of great lodging options, the Drury Inn manages to be quite nice without breaking the bank.

The free breakfast is the best I've ever had! The blueberry muffins are delicious and the free popcorn and soda at night are both great perks.

The lobby is small and simple but attractive. The rooms have the same feel. The beds are unfathomably comfy; I fell asleep instantly every night. They have four pillows each in a double room and are well-suited for two people.

The indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub area is a great place to relax. There is no room service though; you can't even ask them to bring up a coffee straw (I tried). The bath tub appears to be cleaned only in between guests, not every night. But other than that it's easy to forget this place is so budget friendly when it provides the perks of a much more upscale hotel.

I recommend this place to anyone traveling in Orlando. It's close to Universal but a little longer drive from the Disney Parks.

We have grown to love our Drury in Orlando and stay frequently. The front desk staff has always been helpful for the many years we’ve been staying with them. It’s a super short drive to Universal with minimal traffic. The rooms have always been spotless and the kids enjoy having an indoor and outdoor pool. We like staying on the higher floors that face I-4. You can get a great view of the Orlando Eye and at night, you can see fireworks from Disney in the distance (they are small but the kids are tickled to get a glimpse). Breakfasts can get pretty crowded so we try to go early. The evening kickbacks are basic but nice to have if you’re resting from long park days.

I've stayed at Drury Inns previously and have always had very good experiences, but this was an exception. I booked this hotel for two reasons - cleanliness and food options - and unfortunately they failed to deliver well in either of those areas. Our room was not very clean at all, particularly the bathroom. I won't get into details, but I'm glad I brought cleaning products with me or I would have had no choice but to have them send someone from housekeeping. And, while I understand the challenges they face due to COVID-19, the breakfast was so, so bad. They had the same meal offered every day (scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and biscuits) and it was really below expectations. In addition, while signs are posted to wear your mask in public areas, many people don't adhere to that and the staff doesn't say anything so it creates a challenging environment for those trying to be careful. There were kids and adults walking around without masks and without maintaining any social distance. I even saw several different staff members wearing their masks under their nose, and one not wearing one at all.

I don't want to overlook the positives though. The location is great, just a few minutes away from Universal Orlando. The 5:30 Kickback food, while limited, was much better than breakfast and offered something different each of the three nights. The pool was fully stocked with towels and my kids enjoyed the indoor/outdoor options. And, the front desk staff was friendly.

Overall, this was just a very average stay, but I see the potential for better. Hopefully, they will find a way to better adapt to our current challenges. Otherwise, I would not recommend staying here anytime soon if you are expecting the quality the Drury Inn typically provides.

Response from Drury Hotels, Owner at Drury Inn & Suites Near Universal Orlando Resort
Responded 5 Aug 2020
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your stay. I’m saddened to hear that the cleanliness of your room didn’t meet your expectations. We pride ourselves on delivering a safe, clean, and comfortable experience for all of our guests. I would love to get some more information from you regarding your experience. Please feel free to e-mail me at josh.kirdy@druryhotels.com. In addition, I’ll be sure to share your feedback regarding breakfast with the appropriate individuals. As of July 29th, Drury now requires all guests to wear masks in public areas except when actively eating or exercising and our team will address any individuals who are not following this guideline. This complements the many other measures we already have in place which you can learn more about at DruryHotels.com. I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed our 5:30 kickback, the indoor/outdoor swimming pool, and that you received great service from our front desk team. We really appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback and hope to serve you again here in Orlando or at one of our many other hotels around the country. Travel Happy! Josh K Manager

First time staying at a Drury Inn. Due to the current pandemic, occupancy was only at 20% and they were only placing guests on two floors. We were on the second floor and didn't see or hear another guest during our weekend stay. Room was nice and everything seemed in good order.

Check in was quick. They've really pulled back on the breakfast offerings (no longer a buffet) with just a few items available. Same with the Happy Hour food offerings and the drink pours are pretty lean. In speaking with a manager, I found out that they're currently staffed with only four people for the entire week. They work 12 hour shifts, six days a week. Housekeeping only comes in a couple of times a week.

Was a bit disappointed with the pool and the hot tub...while hot...had jets that were very weak. Also, they apparently limit the area to only 10 guests. I visited twice and the second time two adults with six screaming children were let in even though five adults were already in the area.

I'm glad I tried this Drury Inn (I remember it being built) but will likely pick nicer hotels that are closer to the parks and can be booked for less money.

Had I not stayed at Drury Inns before, this would have been my first and master at at this chain based on this location. First, the mattress in my room was soft and left my back aching. In the past I really enjoyed the Drury Inn breakfast & evening kick back. But at this location the "hot" food was anything but hot as the warming trays didn't seem to keep anything warm at all. I needed to check out at 5:00 am to get to the airport. I was down at the reception desk at 4:30, the area was dark. A sign on the desk suggestedpicking up the phone to reach staff. I did, it rang at another phone behind the desk. I got in my Lyft ride at 5 am. No staff ever showed up. I'll definitely try other Drury properties, but this one did nothing to enhance the Drury brand in my mind.

This was our first time staying in a Drury Hotel. Immediately upon entry, we were greeted by a super friendly gentleman at the front desk. He was funny and helpful. We were even able to check in a bit early and start our visit to Universal Studios early. Each morning, there was a hot breakfast available that was actually REALLY good! We ended up eating breakfast at the hotel every morning of our stay instead of going anywhere else. The afternoon Kickback was a surprise that didn’t disappoint. Each adult guest was able to receive 3 alcoholic drinks of their choice and there was a hot meal served. Each night is something different which was amazing! There is a Coca Cola machine in the lobby, so you could get drinks at any time. We were even able to fill up our water bottles on the way to the parks. The pool area was clean and inviting. Pool towels were stocked and easily available. The hot tub is large, so we were able to social distance even when there were other people around. Drury did an amazing job with keeping up with social distancing markers, mask wearing, and having sanitation dispensers easily available. We enjoyed our stay so much, we may only stay in Drury Hotels from now on!

Having looked up a few different hotels and weighed up the pros and cons I was delighted to have chosen this one for our family holiday. We spent 11 nights here the end of October/start of November. Location is ten mins walk from international drive, there is also a 7/11 outside, a supermarket across the road and also a Wendy's and Chick Fil-A. We used Uber/Lyft everywhere instead of hiring a car which worked out way cheaper. There were 3 free shuttle buses (which you must book) in the morning to Universal which we used too. The free buffet breakfast here sets you up for the day, it's great. Likewise after a long day in the park the free supper and drinks came in handy when we used them. Kids loved getting their own popcorn and soft drinks and I must say all the staff who work here are really lovely. We stayed in a suite which had lots of room for us (2 adults and 2 kids) The laundry on the seventh floor will save you bringing clothes for everyday too which has a great help. We used the swimming pool one day and it was clean and quiet, not enough sunbeds if it was a bit busier. If you're a light sleeper maybe ask for a room not overlooking Turkey Lake Road at night. The bar has its own kitchen which has regular fresh favourites until it closes and was good value. Overall I'd recommend this hotel to any family coming on an Orlando holiday, I'd stay here again of I ever come back.

I've stayed at this location multiple times and you can find my other reviews here if you look for them.

Overall, this is a great choice if you're looking for an affordable hotel in Orlando that offers a lot for your money.

This particular trip was more turbulent, to be honest. There was an issue that I contacted the manager on duty about that was not resolved to my satisfaction. I contacted Drury via social media and was contacted by the hotel's General Manager directly, who did way more to satisfy us than I could have expected.

Not only did Drury respond to our messages, which some other hotels won't, they were very quick and on a holiday weekend too. They remained courteous, humble, and generous. I was very impressed. They did an amazing job and Michael, the General Manager, is a great humble man.

The hotel is still offering Kickback and a hot breakfast right now. They are more limited than they used to be with items like nachos, hotdogs, waffles, bagles removed for efficiency reasons. I will be surprised if these don't eventually return. The main foods are still there with a rotation of most items on a nightly basis. Drury does have a sample Kickback menu on their website if you're unfamiliar with the food that they rotate. Everything is served by a hard working team that does their best to give you what you want. Soda, juice, and coffee are still available self serve as they have always been.

They are also still providing up to three complimentary alcoholic drinks per adult on the room reservation during Kickback.

I will say this, right now, lots of hotels have cut their breakfasts entirely or offer a weak bag with fruit. Drury still gives you scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Cereal is available by request.

The pool and hot tub still are great and well maintained. The elevators all worked well and were clean.

During a previous visit, I noted stained carpet in the hallways, it looks like the carpet was replaced because it looked much nicer this time.

The room also was nice and completely clean. The Housekeeping team is doing an incredible job during this difficult time. The room was great, with views of Icon 360 and even a bit of Universal's Volcano Bay.

Like I said, the issue we had was resolved well above and beyond to our satisfaction. Grade A customer service and prior experiences suggest that the average person will have an amazing stay regardless.

After hearing from Michael, the hotel's GM, we'll be returning again ourselves because this hotel aims to be the best that they can be and I respect that.

It may not be the hotel with the most fun pool area or the fanciest rooms, but it offers a valuable place to stay at with great quality and customer service to back themselves up.

Nicely remodeled hotel with amazing staff who work to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The room and bathroom was exceptionally clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast and reception food was good. The staff work hard to keep the area clean, even with crumb munchers (children) dropping things, the staff are quick to make things look good. Management is visible around the hotel throughout the day and working hard to make the hotel one of Orlando's best values for people. The pool area is well maintained with plenty of clean towels. SECURITY ALERT: There were some people who came into the hotel to eat meals who were obviously not hotel guests. They appeared to be homeless men. This hotel should work to eliminate this issue as it is a security problem for future guests, and a potential liability for the hotel chain.
