Reviews summary

The Springhill Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista in the Marriott Village garners appreciation from guests for its pool, shuttle service, and complimentary breakfast. However, the hotel's amenities have been flagged by some travelers for needing updates. Guests have called out the spaciousness of the rooms, but also point out the outdated furnishings and a desire for more thorough cleanliness and maintenance. The atmosphere of the hotel, including the decor and the often congested breakfast area, is noted as an area for improvement.
While the staff generally receives positive remarks for friendliness, there are mixed experiences with service efficiency. Cleanliness is mostly satisfactory, though concerns about housekeeping cutbacks and occasional maintenance issues have been raised. The hotel's value is recognized for its free shuttle and affordability, despite some criticism over extra fees and costly on-site amenities. Its location is well-regarded for being close to parks, yet some guests would like more dining options within walking distance.

Detailed Reviews
My sister and I were in the area visiting our father. There is a guard gate when you enter. They ask your name and verify you have a reservation. When reentering, you use your room key for entry. Parking was plentiful.
We were greeted promptly by a very pleasant, personable employee.
Our room overlooked the pool. Upon entry there is an alcove to the right with refrigerator that actually cools, sink and microwave, on the opposite wall is a desk. To the left of entry is a couch and it's own TV. A half wall separates the sleeping area with two comfy queen beds and a second TV. The bathroom has a sink separated from toilet and bathtub. Hot water comes very quickly, water pressure very good.
We like our room cool to sleep so we turned down the AC while having dinner. We returned to a wonderfully cool room, however at midnight both of us were awakened to a hot room. I am not sure how this occurs, if hotels have some type of override or what, but I hate having my sleep disturbed by heat.
Breakfast was typical scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, fruit (oranges, bananas), pastries & breads, cereals, oatmeal and Mickey waffles. Not great, not terrible but it was quick and we were on our way home.
They charge $15 per day to park, but we figure that in when shopping for good hotel rates on our monthly trip to Orlando from South FL.

My family stayed here for the Disney Showcase soccer tournament between Christmas and New Years. Our stay was average and could have been better.
At check in, our room was not ready, which was ok. The front desk assured me it would be soon and would call/text when it was. I checked back with them a couple times. As of 7:30 pm I never heard from them, so I pulled up this stay on the Marriott app (not as easy as it sounds since this originated as a group reservation) and checked in. Once I did that, I then heard from the front desk that our room was ready.
The room itself was okay but a little worn. It was spacious, but a lot of wasted space and bathroom design was bad. It also had one cabinet with 3 small drawers, so we were not really able to unpack and had to live out of our suitcases for 5 days.
There is a daily parking at $15/day, although our group had a negotiated rate of $8, and I was okay with that. At checkout, they tried to change the higher rate. When I pointed out our lower rate, the person assisting me seemed clueless, but was quick to change it once they talked to a manager.
Although the location is convenient to many places, getting to them was not easy due to the traffic. Turning right out of the property onto Vineland was always problematic with traffic bumper to bumper to Route 535 and onto Interstate 4 most of the time. I understand we were there during a peak period, maybe the traffic is not as bad other times of the year.
The breakfast was standard fare, but the crowd was overwhelming at times. To their credit, signs were posted as to what the busy and non-busy times are. Unfortunately, we did not have too much leeway in when we had to eat. Please eat during a slow time if you are able.
I would rate this as an average stay. If in this area again, I would likely stay at a different hotel.

The family was off to Disney World for Christmas and since we have always been a Marriott Rewards members, we booked two rooms at this hotel. The rooms were very clean with a small kitchenette area with fridge and microwave. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Amazing, with all the kids and families staying here, it was quite as well at night. The hotel is inside a gated guarded area with 3 different Marriott properties. All have pools so you can visit any of the pools within the complex. The Springhill has a very decent buffet style breakfast with eggs, fruit, cereals, waffles, fruit juices, bagels, yogurts, etc and is a busy place in the morning. Nearby on the site is a Connections Cafe where you can get pizza, burgers, salads, sandwiches and other light foods as well as a coffee shop. Convenient to all the Disney World parks just 10 minutes or less away because of the ideal location.

This place looks nice when you get there but customer service is beyond awful. The first thing I was told is there is no housekeeping at this location and in order to get your room cleaned you need to provide 24 hours notice. I did that and no one showed up twice. If you ask for room service you are given an attitude. The elevator was broken for 3 days out of my 5 day stay and there is no room safe. If you want to store valuables you are supposed to give it to the front desk. Most egregious is that at 11pm someone was able to enter my daughters room while she was sleeping. When she called and asked to speak to the manager - she was told that the manager was “too busy.” They don’t need your money. I’m sure there are much better places to stay.

The location of this hotel is perfect! When walking into the lobby to check in you can tell the front desk help, that they are not to happy with their jobs. They seem over worked. Perhaps it’s time to hire more staff. I believe they ( the management ) is using Covid as an excused run the hotel at minimum. The poor staff for the first couple of days we were there had no AC in the front lobby,
. It was cooler outside then inside. Upon checking in we were treated nicely and check in went as smooth as possible except for how hot it was. We got settled in, my kids wanted to swim so my husband took them to the pool, which was nice and they had fun. I decided to do some laundry since we had been traveling for a couple of days. 3 laundry rooms later and 3.50 per load still no dryer that works. So we did what needed to be done and just hung all our laundry around our room. Fast forward to after dinner and getting ready for bed… my daughter found a bed bug on her pillow. We quickly gathered our and then I checked under the mattress and sure enough there were a few more. Luckily we did not sleep there. I went back to the lobby to show the front office and they quickly apologized and gave us another room. We examined that room and found it to be better and cleaner anyways. The last room the refrigerator did not work, and in our new room it did, so that was a bonus. Not having cleaning service was a huge bummer, there breakfast was horrible, plan on not eating there, or bringing some of your own breakfast items with you. You have to ask for clean towels which was fine. On our third night there our air conditioner went out at 10:00PM and it got stuffy in our room. We did tell the front desk and we had someone come just a few minutes later, sure enough it had blown a fuse. The gentleman that repaired it was very nice and we appreciated his promptness. So overall if you are looking for someone close to the parks this hotel would probably be okay, but honestly I would consider looking somewhere else. Which is kinda sad because I do like the Marriott brand but this hotel did not meet my satisfaction

I stayed here 3 times in the past month Two times I had to immediately switch rooms the first time the sink didn’t go down the second time I switched rooms was because one of the TV’s were broken I found 2 hairs in the towel I used hairs on the toilet hairs on a new bar of soap and the air didn’t work well, the laundry room on the second floor had hairs on the ground lint and dryer sheets, for 3 nights in a row as soon as you exit the elevator to second floor they left a large black garbage bag and next to it multiple plastic bags tied up with garbage/food that smelt bad I told the lady at the desk it didn’t bother me but just wanted to tell her and she said they’d be picking it up at 11 that night meanwhile it can bring roaches and possibly spread covid, there was black mold and yellow spots on the walls all around the air and the second room the air didn’t work very well either and the room smelt like moldy water. The pillows smelt bad, they leave 100+ cigarette butts near the picnic table and the manager came out smoking a cigarette the one that has a newer silver Honda Accord so maybe it’s him or the other people that work there. There were also hairs in the shower hairs everywhere and one of the beds felt very odd and super old. One last thing we had a late checkout 2pm the maid saw us leave with our luggage and we planned to come back for 20 mins we come back less then an hour later before our checkout and the room is already redone and she told us to come back out so obviously she walked in there assuming all of our stuff was out so she probably looked around to see if we had stuff so imagine if there was stuff why is she roaming the room we clearly agreed with the office to be out by 2. Oh and they left empty soap dispensers people touched in the showers in both rooms! I wish I would’ve gotten pictures of the garbage bags and laundry room

We were in town for our annual volunteer week at Give Kids the World and selected the SpringHill at Marriott Village for our hotel. The hotel is part of a complex of 3 Marriott branded hotels and we had stayed previously at the Fairfield Inn within the complex, there is also a Courtyard Hotel. They share a common fitness area and play area.
Check in was by Melissa who was very friendly and explained the breakfast hours and charges for parking and destination fee. The destination fee entitles you to $5 daily at one of the food outlets or from the sundry shop. Melissa was friendly but could have enhanced the check in experience by using our name and building a little more rapport during the process.
Guest room was clean but starting to appear a bit tired from all the use it has seen. Typical Springhill Suites early generation. Small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Housekeeping existed that they replaced towels and coffee daily during our stay. They made the bed once during our 5 night stay. The bathroom was older generation with a tub/shower. The stopper in the sink did not hold the water so I had to waste water while shaving.
Breakfast is at 6:30 AM and there was always a bunch of folks already in line at 6:30 wanting to get an early start. They are serving the hot food and making the waffles. It is great to see that they are still making the waffles that the kids love. The attendants at the breakfast buffet all were very friendly and had big smiles. It is obvious that they enjoy what they do. The eggs were good, there was always a different meat selection and either grits or oatmeal. Toast was available along with bagels. There was condiments for the eggs of salsa or spinach. Of course a good cup of coffee and juice was also available.
We met the nigh audit person working the desk early in the morning and his name was Scott, he was always upbeat and friendly and management should commend him for his excellent attitude and friendly hospitable spirit. He certainly demonstrates the Marriott Spirit to Serve!
All in all a good stay. We didn't utilize the bus transportation to the theme parks but that is a huge amenity.

We only stayed here as a pit stop in route to Cape Canaveral, however, I would come back if I was traveling to Disney World or found myself in the area again.
This property is situated with two other Marriott hotels in a gated area with a joint parking lot. This makes it nice if you have others staying in one of the nearby hotels. It also offers transportation to Disney, which would have been nice if we needed it.
Two things I liked about this hotel was the free breakfast that was provided and the nice pool area in the courtyard of the hotel. The staff was nice at check in and the breakfast staff was very accommodating and were there to be of service. Although the breakfast was crowded, they did a good job of keeping everything moving, cleaned, and restocked well.
The room was simply average, but for what we needed, it worked fine.

This hotel is part of the Marriott Village in Orlando, with three separate Marriott hotels next to each other. It is a little tricky to get to depending on which direction you are coming from. Be prepared to battle some significant traffic. The rates are very reasonable for the area and I was able to book a room for two nights the same day we arrived. A double bed room can sleep a family of 5 with the fold-out couch. Note that the double beds are NOT queen size – they are full size beds. Check-in was quick and the staff was very accommodating. Rooms were just a little dated for a SpringHill, but they were clean and everything worked. We did not have any issues with noise from other guests, however the AC unit was loud. The free breakfast was good and there was plenty of seating for a large number of guests, but it was very busy. They also had a small food court for all the hotels in the village that served pizza, sandwiches, etc., and you get a $5/day coupon to use there. They do have a shuttle to the Disney parks from the hotel, however they run at specific times and you have to make advance reservations for trips to and from the parks – you can’t just hop on and go. Disney is about 10-15 minutes away, Universal about 20 minutes away.

The location of this hotel is excellent. Very rarely any traffic getting to and from Disney parks. This is not a perfect hotel, but when balancing with value for money, there was nothing really to complain about and we had a great holiday. However, there were also some less positive aspects which others have also mentioned. Positives - the hotel allows 5 guests in one room and so as a family of 5 this made a real difference in terms of cost. Breakfast, whilst not the best ever experienced, had a wide range of hot and cold options and we were always able to fill ourselves up for a day at the parks. They’re becoame less choice as it got busier later on and it was sometimes a bit of a challenge to get a table if later on. The free car parking was a nice addition and so was the free shuttle bus to the parks. It is worth being aware that the resort charges $10 per room per day as a resort fee to cover this (not uncommon). However, you were then given $10 a day to spend in the shop / Starbucks / food counter. The room was plenty big enough and was nice and quiet on the top floor. The ability to use the facilities in the other two hotels was also nice as you could switch between pools. Areas that could have been better: The room had a damp smell on arrival, but then there had just been a biblical storm. We had a few small ants in the room but they left us alone and we left them. One of the windows was constantly fogged. There was a few hairs on the bathroom floor on arrival - all these things we mentioned to the staff who were more than willing to help, offered us a room swap if we wanted, gave us some additional dining credit as an apology and re cleaned the room. If you are looking for a budget, family friendly, practical and excellent value hotel, then you should look no further. We only spent one day at the pools and between the hours of midnight and 8am in the room.
