Enjoyed our stay there, we definitely want to return! I don't know why, but I just figured this hotel would be wild & crazy partying. While they do have rock music playing everywhere, even when your waiting for an elevator at 8:00 am. It's ok, it's just a low fun hum that you get used. Our room was very nice, clean and spacious with a garden view. The room had two sinks which was nice when getting ready for bed at night or in the morning. This place is the closest you will get to entering Universal, it's such a nice garden walk and in it seemed like 5 minutes and your there (don't need to ride the boat if your going to Universal side, walking is actually quicker). We ate at the Beach Club pool bar. This has a bigger covered patio deck than Portifino or Royal Pacific. The only thing I could ding it for was that you automatically have to pay 18 percent gratuity. Our waiter was nice, but not that all responsive. We waited to pay our bill for about 20 min. until I finally went up to the bar to ask where our waiter was. If at the time the place was busy, I would have understood. But, the place was only 1/8 full. The pool looks super inviting, however on this trip we did not take a swim. Two of us at dined at the Kitchen onsite restaurant and they reported that both meals were fabulous (pork dish). For dessert the brownie caramel ice cream was amazing!

We chose this property based on its location to Universal Studios and its inclusion of the Universal Express Pass. It's the closest to the park and offers a water taxi and shuttle but neither were needed. Take the walking path right to the park entrance and Citywalk. Islands of Adventure is just up a little bit further. We even found a shortcut by going through the pool area. From the lobby go down the back staircase and out the door to the pool then turn left and walk until you get to the gate out to the garden and it puts you right on the path. Following the signs to the water taxi will take you to the path and from there you'll be able to see where the shortcut is so you can find it on your way back.

After comparing the cost of adding the Universal Express pass to our 4 3-day park tickets vs the higher priced room at the Hard Rock which included the pass we decided to stay here and we were very pleased.

I could text the front desk for anything if needed. How cool is that?! Apparently I slept so well in the comfy beds that I snored and kept the kids up! So I texted to see about some ear plugs and they magically were delivered and everyone slept great.

We had a garden view room which was great. Bathrooms were a little outdated but really wasn't bad. It was convenient to have those 2 sinks.

We each kept our key in lanyards with our park tickets and put them back to back in a plastic pouch and it worked out great. The room key is your Universal Express pass so they scanned it when you got into that line and the park ticket got scanned every time you entered the parks and if you took the train to transfer to the other park. Everything can be scanned through the clear pouch so it doesnt need to be removed.

As we got our Universal Express pass scanned one time the attendant told us that since we are staying at the Hard Rock we can take our room key to the front desk at check out and they could turn our key into a guitar pick.

Everything was wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay and felt like rock royalty. Thank you!!

Basically good food for adults and kids free fast-passes clean good size room non have balcony’s loud pool area but kids love it parking daily cost but safe, short walk into city walk and the parks or boat ride is what your paying for the location and it’s worth it really. Great location ideal for fast-passes which are needed with small children but you do miss out on some bits kinda like mini shows on rides like Kong as you wait. The parking is not great if you don’t pay for valet it’s a little walk but not far just if you have shopping it’s a pain as there is a lot of steps or you need to go around the front of hotel it’s safe tho as we had a Cadillac Escalade so most expensive car on the lot and you still have a daily charge for parking plus don’t forget a charge on top for Disney when you drive in to park.. They have a star bucks on site which is great along with fresh fruit pots. Pool is a bit loud for my wife and I but my 6y old loved it. The food in hotel is really good and not expensive we had room service as got changed most nights and the pool food was also great. Was a show on one night Brett Michaels from Warrent. When we got back that night the hotel lobby was full he was there I said hi and had to ask some cowboys to move so we could get past with our son but they moved straight away and we’re very polite which since they had Budweiser in the hands I was kinda surprised but I feel the hard rock know there clientele and invite the right bands. Room was quiet we got a pool view but non of the rooms have balcony’s which is weird to the English tho I knew before going so can’t complain. To be fair to the hard rock we payed more than twice the price for four seasons and only went on the balcony twice for five mins each time. Our friends used the washing facilities and said they were great but we just bought more clothes.
Will be going back.

The hotel rooms are very up to date. Lots of room good, practical furniture. We were 2 kids, 2 adults in a double room. Two queen size beds, which makes a difference. The pool was very nice, but shallow throughout and the slide was fun. Pool is heated and there are 2 hot tubs: one adult. There is plenty of seating and the food and drink service by the pool is quite good. Based on the price point we did have a few small issues that at a 4-5 star just shouldn’t happen. We had to contact the front desk twice to have our room serviced after 5pm. We had one dirty towel hung up in our room, there was maybe black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and the water from the taps was not hot, just very warm. The gym facilities are excellent and there is a full service health club style change room with most of the amenities you might need to clean up after a workout or after hanging out at the pool before catching your flight. They don’t seem to have any rules about children using the change rooms, so you can get the kids ready for your flight if your out of your room. the park is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, which is really nice. Your room comes with an express pass for all the days you are staying at the hotel and that is really nice perk. The front desk staff is excellent and give great advice about what to do and quickest way to the parks etc. There really wasn’t enough people staffing the ticket desk during such a busy period ( between Christmas and new years) which made for a long wait.

I have stayed in better hotels for a lot less. If you are expecting a nice suite stay, please set your expectations to the level of basic Vegas hotel. It is nice for a hotel stay, but I feel like it is more of a basic hotel stay and you’re just paying for the express pass. The three bedroom suite (we have reserved at Disney hotels with no issues) is literally three adjoining basic hotel rooms. My mini fridge in my office is colder than the mini fridge in the room. Please do not think you will be able to keep meats and cheeses cold. The King suite does not even have a door to close, it is set up like an efficiency. When we called to inform the hotel that two members of our party will be there an hour before we arrived, we asked if they could go ahead and get the express pass as we are on the road and will be there shortly. The manager, Shaun, indicated that would not be an issue. Then when the two members arrived, they were required to put a card down. We then talked to Shaun and he said, “no you assumed” I was in shock! Then we asked if we could just give our card information over the phone (keep in mind they already had a card on file from the $800 to reserve the rooms) but Shaun said they needed a physical card. When we arrived, the computers were not working properly, guess what, they expected us to leave our card information written down, they didn’t need the physical card. And when we called to see if there were dryers to use to dry our clothes, we were told, laundry is located on the 2nd and 4th floors (we are in the 6th)...so we began our search for laundry facilities. I feel as if the communication within this hotel is lacking, big time! Almost like the employees assume the residents should already know where things are or how things work here. THEY assume! I can say the only plus has been Adam, from engineering. A HUGE SHOUT OUT to him! He has gone above and beyond to try and make our stay a little better. He brought us a new refrigerator and when the microwave we asked for (yes we had to request a microwave) came, it was just left at the door. No one even knocked... he picked it up and plugged it in to make sure it worked. And this is only our first night here, I am hopeful for a better day two!

We visited October 28-31, 2020 and had a great time. The extra cleanliness processes were great, everyone kept masks on, and overall felt very safe with their virus precautions. Nan and the rest of the staff at the club level rock royalty lounge were fantastic and they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Great resort and thanks to the friendly staff we encountered. The express passes that came with the room were well worth staying at the premier resorts on universal.

We arrived Monday morning, checked out Monday night. We wanted to visit Universal for a day while on our Disney trip. We had previously stayed at this Hard Rock, and while pricey, it was worth the money due to location near the park, quality of room and overall vibe. We arrived at 7:20am so we could get our tickets and Express Passes. Everyone was very nice and they stored our luggage while we went to park. We returned after 4pm, and since we booked a little more expensive room this time we were expecting something pretty decent. The first thing I noticed was that the windows were a little dirty and we looked out onto an ugly roof. Oh well, I thought, those things don't matter. With my feet up on the bed, I noticed a hair ( not mine) on my sock. Oh well, I thought again. Then I noticed a hair on the sheet...hmmmm, they must have a problem with their washer? I looked down at the base of the bed, and noticed a few white splatters. I wasn't sure what they were , and just started wiping them off with a Clorox wipe, which in retrospect, WHY did I do that? I thought I was staying in the room and trying to dismiss what I was seeing so not to get totally grossed out. But once I started wiping,I noticed the splatters went all the way across the base of the bed. If I noticed this, how could housekeeping not notice? This totally grossed me out and we decided that, after dinner, we were going to leave. ( We had another room further away from Universal that we were checked into for a couple more days.) There were a couple other housekeeping issues ( dust buildup on top of the bed frame indicating that it is rarely cleaned, dirt in the cradle of the phone, dirt on bedframe behind pillows on bed , clear sticker ( like one that kept a candy box closed?) on counter that I discovered when I quickly wiped off the counter with a Lysol wipe, and that easily peeled off. )
We notified the front desk via text of some of the issues mentioned above ( the unknown white spots on the base of bed were really the thing that made us wonder how clean anything in the room was.) We were told we could change rooms or someone woukd come clean. If we had encountered only one housekeeping issue, maybe I would think another room might be better, but with several issues, I tend to think there's an overall cleaning problem. So no, we didnt want to take a chance on another room. And we didn't want anyone to come up to our room; I already took care of the problems we found. The front desk also sent up a snack basket, as if that would make up for anything. I understand it is hard to hire staff, we have seen this all over, both at home and while vacationing. But you should not be renting out a room that isn't thoroughly cleaned, especially when you're charging a premium rate. Especially during a pandemic. The three stars are for location and the inclusion of express pass with room reservation.

My friend and I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel from Monday - Wednesday and had tickets to Universal. From the moment our Uber arrived, we received awesome customer service. We were immediately greeted and assisted with our luggage. Checkout was super efficient and we were given an upgrade from our standard view room to a garden view room so we could check in immediately. The bellman came within five minutes of us locating our room and couldn’t have been nicer, offering to get us ice and answer any questions about our room. The service continued throughout our entire stay. The location to Universal is a five minute walk, so easy . The restaurants in the hotel were fabulous. If you are wondering where to stay, this is the place, you won’t be sorry!

From the appearance of the grounds to check-in, the stay, amenities and finally to check-out, the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal was excellent and delivered first class service.

Our room was immaculately clean, updated and had a very large bathroom with two large sinks. The hotel itself was impressively clean as well; this included the bars, pools areas, grounds and common areas.

All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel, parks and general Orlando area. The excellent bar staff were professional, polite and good company. In particular I would like to thank Ken from the Velvet bar and Kyle from the Beach Club.

The pool in enormous and good for all ages. It may be among the larger pools that I have seen at a hotel. There are towels available right at the pool deck as well as the Beach Club that has good food service.

As far as location goes, two of the parks are less than a 10 minute walk away, but the water taxi which takes about the same time was a pleasant ride as well after a full day of walking around.

With the park privileges that come with being at guest at the Hard Rock Hotel and the location I would not stay anywhere else for a future trip. The Universal Express passes alone was worth staying at this hotel, notwithstanding the caliber of facility this hotel presents.

I highly recommend the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal for families, singles and couples. Well done Hard Rock Hotel!

My family and I just returned from Universal Studios and a five night stay at Hard Rock Orlando. We felt very safe while there, as they took every precaution to keep guests safe and the space sanitized.

The staff was amazing and friendly. Hoa in the Rock Royalty club level greeted us every day with her cheerful and helpful personality. She remembered our family and took special care of our kids to make sure we all had what we needed. Thank-you, Hoa, for completing our stay with your positivity!

Moving the Rock Royalty lounge to the third floor was an inconvenience for us, but we still made time to visit more than once a day.

The room itself was clean, as the rest of the hotel. Unfortunately, I found our bed to be uncomfortable. It was a bit firm for my taste. My husband, however, appreciated the firmness of the mattress.

Everything else was great. We had room service, towels, and toiletries delivered to our door in contact-free delivery. The wait for food in beachclub was a bit long, as they were understaffed for such a busy time. But they made up for it when they could, and we didn’t mind the wait.

Emack and Bolios had amazing milkshakes and I liked being able to buy a “grownup juice box” (boxed sangria) to take back to the room!

Taking the water taxi is a must for tired feet, but when possible, a stroll through the butterfly garden on your way to the parks is lovely and shouldn’t be missed.

We didn’t get a chance to try the two restaurants on-site, or to visit the Velvet Lounge, so I can’t comment on those areas. Over all, we would stay here again! Thanks, Hard Rock Orlando!

Your express pass is for both parks. From the moment you check in until 11:59 pm on the day of your check out. If your park pass is for two parks a day you absolutely can go to both. Take the Hogwarts Express to switch between parks if you don’t feel like walking. It’s a great experience. It’s a different experience in both directions Have a Blast!

It will be open as it was open in January. Not sure about table reservations but you can rent a cabana which is serviced by Beach Club staff (food and drink). There is a nice restaurant ground floor that looks out into beach club area t(can't remember it's name) that you can reserve tables at. But I think the beach club itself is first come first serve.
