I highly recommend this property...we stayed for one night in one of the cottages on the marina side. Very well appointed, shared bbq’s on the marina, beautiful views from the waterfront of the marina & over to Pine Island and beyond. For the following 3 nights, we stayed in the “Sweet” cottage (the old post office) at Jensen’s on the Gulf. The cottage itself was well appointed, full kitchen with dishes, BBQ utensils, great screened in porch, separate bedroom and an outside yard with a personal BBQ and Adirondack chairs... the beach is through a passageway 2 minutes away from cottage. Perfect place to social distance and enjoy beautiful Captiva!!!

My husband and I stayed in the Honeymoon Suite for a week and have loved everything about it! The unit is fresh and well decorated, the bed is very comfortable, and the little mini kitchen is fine for breakfasts and lunches. The main attraction, however, is the lanai, which has a million dollar view of the beach, gulf and glorious sunsets. The property is very clean and well kept with lush landscaping and a private path to the beach. The beach is clean, soft, quiet and the water is warm, clear and has a gentle surf that’s great for swimming. I’ve had great luck finding a huge variety of gorgeous shells! The staff have met our needs in a friendly and timely fashion. The center of island activity is a short walk up the beach or road. Highly recommend! We will certainly be back!

We always love staying at Jensen’s at the Gulf. The views and accommodations can not be beat! Walking up in the beach never gets old, after this stay we have stayed in all of the “on the gulf” accommodations except one. Would recommend any of them! Jensens touches of coffee, soap and extra towels are nice but their selection of beach chairs, sand toys, laundry facilities and private beach put them above the rest. They are quick to respond if you are low on kleenex or garbage bags and make every effort to make your stay perfect! We will continue to come back again and again. We had several gloomy days but had wonderful shelling and the gulf breeze was extra refreshing. We especially enjoy the screened in porch area to sip coffee or dine outdoors without the bugs! I would recommend Jensen’s on the gulf to anyone wanting to stay on the beach in clean and well equipped rentals but don’t have to deal with “big box” rental agencies. The Jensen family is always welcoming and wants everyone’s who stays with them to have a wonderful visit on Captiva- they succeeded yet again!

Given the premium pricing of this property, we had expectations that were not met. The mold on the shower curtain would benefit from either cleaning or replacement. Essential supplies, such as toilet paper, are not adequately supplied or stocked for guests. Updating the appliances is a must. Given the cost of staying here, the owners could purchase new updated appliances with one week's profits to elevate the experience. A new refrigerator without rust that includes an automatic ice maker and a modern coffee pot with an auto turn-off feature would be notable improvements. Water left in a Keurig reservoir from a previous guest was gross. Bedding and pillows could be updated for more comfortable sleep. The patio is a lovely feature; however, the proximity to the busy road impacted the tranquility we anticipated. The property has great potential... Its positive side is access to the beautiful beach with a blue heron and a resident osprey. Shelling on the coast is lovely. Sunsets are beautiful. Unfortunately, We will not return to Jensen's.

It goes without saying that the beach front location is great. Everything else we found to be less than ideal to poor. Noise from the unit above was beyond irritating. Every step, talking …and peeing could be distinctly heard. When we arrived we saw two cockroaches appear from underneath the toaster. The whole unit was in a state of disrepair and furnished with the cheapest of furniture and bedding. The upholstery was soiled and the sagging couch was SO uncomfortable. The paper-thin fitted sheets were too small and kept coming off. There were no curtains or doors on the closets (not reflective of website pictures). There was no stopper in the bath tub to take a bath. There was rust on the oven door, the furnace filter was filthy, a handle was missing on dresser drawer and numerous wall outlet covers were missing as well as a smoke detector. Twice, when opening the curtains, the rods came flying off of the brackets and landed on the floor. I cannot recommend this particular unit to anyone based on its current condition and especially the $659 per night price. We’ve been coming to the islands for 35+ years and stayed at many places…this was the worst. This type of accommodation/pricing hurts the comeback of the island after Ian. It’s unfortunate that the high nightly rate isn’t being invested back in to improving the property. Sad to see.

RIGHT ON THE BEACH. You couldn’t get any closer. Very comfortable suites. Beds were very good. Kitchen was fairly well stocked with cooking pans pots and tools. Could use a cloth dish towel or two. Bathroom was roomy and shower/tub was very nice. They do provide you with some starter supplies but be forewarned it’s just that so if you’re there for a week you’ll need more TP, paper towels and trash bags. There are a number of chairs, umbrellas and beach toys underneath for you to use.
Great sunsets!!!

Exactly what we were looking for! Quiet, private and right on the beach! Everything we needed was already in the room. Excellent location-takes about 5 minutes to walk or 2 minutes to bike into downtown Captiva for dinner and close to more action in Sanibel as well. Highly recommend!

Jensen’s on the Gulf is a DELIGHTFUL getaway. Unpretentious yet welcoming! Each of the six accommodations are unique, well cared for. The Jenson’s have been hosting families for decades they know to to greet you and how to leave you to enjoy you own experience. Situated right on the gulf with an easy walk to a beautiful unpopulated beach. Plenty of chairs, umbrellas and sand toys available. We came prepared to make breakfasts & dinners during the majority of our stay. Kitchen could have used a few more plates, tableware, knives but with a bit of creativity we managed. The location is perfect, white beaches, fabulous sunsets. Even the typical Florida afternoon thunderstorms were a pleasure to be enjoyed. We found places to launch our own kayaks. Each trip was unique with manatee, dolphin & sea turtles,a vast amount of bird sightings. If you are looking for a wakeup, throw on a bathing suit and hit the waves vacation, this is an awesome place.

This place was expensive and horribly disappointing. The only thing good about staying here was the beach access was great. The accomodations were unacceptable. The unit was clean, but had multiple problems. Including finding some type of maggot on the bed. There was no WIFi, televisions not working, and no electricity in the balcony, the stairwell to the apt. or, the dining area. In addition, we were not told, when we booked the room, that they would be undergoing extensive renovation and repair during our stay which was dishonest. There were no curtains or shutters in any of the rooms. Every morning first thing in the morning we woke up to the blare of Mariachi bands and the scream of the workers in their machine gun Spanish. Since there were no curtains, we had no privacy and the drilling sawing and hammering were constant and not soothing. There was a pile of trash including a number of empty beer bottles spilling out of the trash container on the first floor and onto the walkway from the parking area to the stairs. For 2 days, this remained untouched. Breakaway was unresponsive for two days and we left on the third day in disgust. When we left there was still no Wifi and a barely operating TV. Talking with Breakaway, was difficult, and when we did they only claimed that they were understaffed! They acted as if they were not aware, that there was major reconstruction going on. No excuse for the overpriced unit that they were supposed to be managing. It was clear, that they had not finished the renovation of the property when we came. They should have just stayed closed during renovation rather subject us to a miserable stay.

Though the beach access was great, the accomodations were unacceptable. The unit was clean, but had multiple problems. There was no WIFi, televisions not working, and no electricity in the living room/dining area. In addition, there was a closet that had paintings on the floor and no bar installed to hang clothes. Breakaway was unresponsive for 4 days, and on the 5th day sent an electrician who fixed the living room light. When we left there was still no Wifi and no operating TVs. Getting to talk with Breakaway, was difficult, and when we did they only claimed that they were understaffed! No excuse for the overpriced unit that they were supposed to be managing. It felt like they had not finished the renovation of their property. Even the electrician was surpised at the poor installation of the wiring. An example was in the dining room - where the fixture could only be turned on, by turning the bulb itself.

I am not sure......best call them.
We were in room 1and it has a pod type coffee maker and they supply coffee. The other rooms may have k-cups though and they likely supply the coffee as well. Probably best to call for other rooms though.
Don’t know of a shuttle? We rented a car. As far as getting around captiva center it is easy to walk every where !!!
I do not believe there is any access to a pool but with the beautiful Gulf waters right there it's not missed.
