The only beachfront resort in Naples offers a front-row seat to Florida's panoramic Gulf Coast of sparkling turquoise waters and sugar-white beaches. Relaxing days are spent in the spa, dining oceanfront, on the championship Robert Cupp golf course, by one of four pools or in an elegant guest room.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort's beachfront position garners widespread acclaim for its picturesque sunset vistas and amenities such as fire pits and pools, despite occasional construction nuisances. While the service is typically lauded for staff attentiveness and friendliness, there are sporadic mentions of slower service.
The resort atmosphere offers tranquility alongside vibrant pool areas, with modern, comfortable rooms that boast scenic views, though value concerns arise over high costs and unexpected charges for amenities. Cleanliness stands out, with meticulous maintenance throughout.

Just looking at the most recent postings I’m wondering if we stayed at the same hotel!
This was our 6th visit and can honestly say that we have never once had any complaints or problems.
During our 7 day stay one lift wasn’t working, fixed the day we left!!, and that was annoying having to wait ages for the one working lift to be free, but that’s it.
Rooms are always kept clean, and if you want to opt out you can get a $5 voucher to use at bar or fo coffee etc.
The pool bar and food are excellent and staff very good.
Lovely pool and right on the beach, great location.
Would give a mention to Nick, front desk manager, he is always helpful, has a great manner and remembered us, by name, from previous visits.
So, in conclusion, we have already rebooked again for October, and really looking forward to our next visit, hope reviews have improved by then.

We have long thought Baleen is one of the best dining experiences in Naples and finally had the opportunity to stay at LaPlaya. Our resort experience was equally top notch. The service from housekeepers to beach attendants is attentive to every detail. LaPlaya has charm and character which makes the Ritz sterile and impersonal by comparison and LaPlaya provides all its amenities with easy access. The resort has so many different spaces it feels very private and romantic. We stayed in a high floor premium beachfront room in the Gulf Tower you can hear the surf at night and gaze out over the Gulf like being on a cruise ship. Love the ability to see the water from the shower window! We celebrated my birthday with private beachfront dining with Adriano as our terrific server. There is no better experience in Naples for a special occasion dinner. Thanks to the management and staff at LaPlaya for matching their amazing beachfront location with an equally impressive elite experience. We will be back (soon).

First things first. The staff at this place is excellent. Nick the property manager personally called me to make sure my stay was excellent, the valet is excellent and efficient and the front desk is friendly. I had drinks, food, and breakfast here all excellent! My room was very clean spotless the staff is great! The only exception was the hostess at the main building who handed my wife and I menus and said you can sit anywhere you like. Ok so what is the purpose of your position here is it to stand there and hand people menus or are you supposed to walk people to their table like any normal hostess at a similar establishment would do. With that said the 3 stars come from the actual physical property the building itself. When you pay $400+ a night to stay at a place you think the resort would be really good but it was a real disappointment. First the owners of this place need to have a map on their website and let people know there are 4 buildings in this resort. 2 of these buildings are on the beach and two are behind across the street part of the parking garage. This is never shown to you on the website (At least wasn’t apparent) you only see the nice pictures of course. When you check in you check into the main building called the beach house I believe . The beach house is a descent building and worth $400+ per night depending on your room type. For me however I booked a resort view room thinking I’ll be looking at the pool and expected to be in the resort. I was very disappointed to find out that my room was across the street part of the garage! You walk across the street into a small corridor then through a little lobby and finally into your room. This building is not part of the nice resort property it’s FAR from that. Think about it like booking a ticket on the titanic and you walk in just for them to tell you to go 3 levels below deck that’s where you’ll be staying. Maybe this is a bit of an exaggeration but the downgrade is just too large for any guest to accept in my opinion I feel like I was tricked into believing I’ll be staying at a resort when the reality is in fact you’re staying in a building that’s mostly a garage with hotel units attached to it. With all this said the front desk did everything they could and even upgraded my room to a better room but still you’re at the garage building. If you want to go to the pool you need to walk across the street. If you want to go to the spa or any other amenity you have to walk across the street. If you’re an Amex platinum member like I am looking at this property this isn’t the quality you’re used to trust me. I’ve been to very nice properties all over the US and I’m absolutely baffled at the cost per night vs what you’re getting for that. I think the Ritz Carlton down the street would have been a much better option you know what you’re getting with a Ritz and you’ll know when you check in you’ll be staying in the same building like all the other guests.

Thank you for recently being our guest at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort and for taking a moment to share your experience. We have many different room categories our guests can select from at the time of booking. These multiple categories allow guests to book the ideal location for their experience and descriptions of these rooms and the locations of the building are all detailed on our website. Our reservations and guest services team is happy to discuss room locations and answer any questions about the property before you decide to book and we appreciate the opportunity to set those expectations. Our Bay Tower building located across a small residential road is just a short walk to the beach and provides excellent views of the Gulf of Mexico as well as the Vanderbilt Bay. We are pleased to see that our staff was accommodating to your every need and that they made your stay enjoyable and memorable. We appreciate your compliments to them and we look forward to sharing those compliments. We understand that our property may not be the ideal fit for every traveler but we would appreciate the opportunity to welcome you back again and hope we have that opportunity soon. Best regards, Tim Herman General Manager

Rooms unorganized and disheveled. Not what you expect considering the price, cleaning was just OK...we had wrappers and little things left after cleaning
Amenities advertised like ‘Complimentary first hour of cruiser bike’ is a lie.... be careful setting expectations. Call on something important to you. I. Fairness the hotel made this right after a quick disagreement and having to show them their own website. I had to drive to a bike rental place which they paid for an hour rental
All elevators were broken for more than a day (8 flights of stairs to climb for us). Besides a sign on the door there was no accommodation for guests (how about ‘Here are some free waters since you went up and down 8 flights 5 times today’ ?
Beach and location were as advertised. Having to get chairs On the water by 8:30 am was a pain but that’s the same everywhere.i rate the location a 10. We stayed in beach tower, can’t speak for people that stay in other buildings

Where to start with this resort. Let’s talk about the positives. The staff is extremely professional, accommodating, knowledgeable and attentive. The food is very high end and it is obvious that there is a great chef selection in the staff. The property has an amazing view of the beach and has beach access. There are also spa locations on property as well as a gym. Now let’s talk about the Cons. The properties amenities are all dated. It would not surprise me if most of the hotel comes from the late 80s or early 1990s. There’s a bit of rust stains in the bathroom and around corners in the room you can see the wear and tear of a very old property. The property is clean and well-maintained. The property is clean and well-maintained but it is obvious it is very old. The charge of $1000 a night is way over budget and there are numerous other hotels that cost half the value and provide comparable or if not better amenities. In summary this would be a great $300 to $400 a night hotel but the quality for its price is just not there. Unfortunately the management seems to be pricing this on reputation from 20 or 30 years ago rather than comparing it to modern day resorts. I would recommend someone go stay at the JW Marriott or Ritz Carlton before they come here. They were also sand flies that kept getting in from the beach I don’t know if it was because of a lack of window ceiling on the sliding glass door or they just manage to find their way in. They did not buy so it was that too much of a pest but at the end of the day it looks like the wear of the building just left openings for them to get in.

We stayed on the 3rd floor of the Beach House. This was a beautiful, spacious room and we liked the location. It had a large balcony with a nice view of the ocean (from the balcony, but not the bed). However, be warned the Wi-Fi works extremely poorly in this building and if you have AT&T the cell phone coverage is also bad; in our case the iPhone hopped endlessly between 5g and 4g as it tried to figure out how to maintain a one-bar signal. We missed an important phone call due to this.
We also experienced some service fumbles. Most notably, one of the COVID-19 cleaning protocols is that housekeeping won't enter your room until/unless you specifically request it. We don't mind this, but during one day of our stay we left for 6 hours to do some hiking and explore Naples. After requesting housekeeping at 9am, we returned to the room at 3pm and found it had not been made up. In a separate incident, we phoned well in advance of our stay to make reservations at BALEEN, and the voicemail was not returned. After arriving at the hotel, the host was able to secure a reservation for us, but when we arrived for it, we were informed our table wouldn't be ready for 45 minutes or longer. In the property's defense, we did escalate these issues to management and the problems were taken seriously and rectified. If we were to return, the hope is that they wouldn't reoccur.
A few other notable comments: the poolside towel and food/beverage service was excellent. We also had wonderful service and food in the restaurant for breakfast. The location of the hotel is perfect and we enjoyed walking up and down the beach. The valet parking attendants are also friendly and provided great suggestions of things to do. All in all, we had a nice trip.

Stayed at the Beach House.Lovely location on the beach with a beautiful view from the balcony and gorgeous sunsets! The room was a decent size and nicely furnished but the bathroom was very small with single sink, toilet and shower. There was barely any place for toiletries or towels. The water in the shower was cold most of the time! The only time it was hot was when the engineer came to check it once!
There was a bottle of Evian on each nightstand which we thought were complimentary since there were no price tags on them and no other water bottles in the room. When I called down for water I was told the Evian were $16 each! But since there
were no tags or charges noted in the room the charge was eventually removed from our room bill after I complained . I requested water and 2 small bottles were delivered. On the other days even though I repeatedly requested water it never was replaced. I ended up buying water at the nearby Walgreens! I had to ask every day for a shower cap because none were ever left when housekeeping made up the room.
The floor was dusty. I don't think it was ever cleaned the entire 3 days we were there.
The room cost $1400, $1500 and $1900 dollars for the nights we stayed. Highly overpriced for the accommodations. Breakfast was included daily.
I do want to praise the employees who helped us during our stay.
Brandon , the bar and food server on the beach was a delight. His service was perfect even when he was very busy and his outgoing , upbeat personality made the beach experience delightful!
Rich, the server at the pool ,was professional, helpful and brightened the otherwise chilly days outside.
Nydia, our server at breakfast was delightful. She is professional, has a great personality and even remembered what we ordered on the past mornings!
I must mention that the valet service was exceptional. They were extremely busy but always friendly and smiling . Amzingly we never had to wait for more than a few minutes for our car.
The resort has a lovely location on a beautiful beach and is centrally located for all the restaurants, but is higly overpriced and the inside service was quite inadequate.

Top notch resort. I appreciate the extra step they took, investing in disinfectant room foggers, that are used in every room on top of regular COVID cleanings. Shows the care they have taken to make every visitor feel safe while enjoying their wonderful facilities.

If you go out on the patio of a Bay Tower room take your cell phone chances are you will be locked out and need it to call for help. Concierge and restaurant are not on the same system call the restaurant not the concierge. Dirty trays left for days in the hallway, restaurant will be about an hour between ordering and receiving your meal. A $60 bottle of wine retail will cost you $160. Be prepared to wait an hour for any service, because there our so many maintenance issues that team is really good, redecorated but the systems were not replaced, strange sounds from the plumbing, wait seems forever for hot water. Very expensive look elsewhere
