Nice but caveat emptor....

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the beach and 5th Avenue shopping/dining. They offer a beach set up which is a very nice touch. Continental breakfast is good but very basic. We can’t say enough good things about the staff, as they were very good and helpful. We booked late in the high season (January) and as a result probably had the least desirable room.

The courtyard is beautiful and all rooms open to it, but the courtyard doubles as a very busy restaurant at night. To access your room (or any room) you must walk thru the courtyard and the diners. The tables are outside your room and dining and drinking continues until around 10-10:30. When booking a room, the hotel needs to disclose that your room is going to be literally inside a very busy and loud restaurant. It’s really awkward to walk around the diners as well, but that is the only way to access your rooms.

Our French doors opened to the courtyard and were also the only source of daylight, but the shutters had to be kept shut due to facing the public areas (courtyard). More private rooms are available, just be sure and ask before booking.

Our room was small and had no storage, which is normally not a big deal but we stayed a week.

For us, we liked the location but for the price ($645 a night), the room we stayed in and the awkwardness and noise of the restaurant are not worth it.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at The Escalante. We strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore, your feedback is very important to us. As we appreciate you have enjoyed the location, the professionalism of our staff along with the beach butler service, we are sorry to hear that the room chosen did not meet your expectations. We have 3 rooms that open by the pool and it looks you’re accommodated in one of them; most of our rooms have a garden entrance and a front entrance, away from the garden; these are the type of rooms we recommend for guests looking for more privacy. Concerning Veranda E restaurant, guest feedback forms demonstrate that <7% of guests consider noise to be a detrimental issue, in addition most view the Veranda E restaurant as particularly convenient, given that offers the option to either dine in the main dining room or have a romantic dinner on the semi-private patio of the room. Should you find yourself looking to visit Naples again, I would like to invite you to contact me directly at aflorescu@hotelescalante.com as I would like to have the opportunity to welcome you back so you can enjoy the full Hotel Escalante experience. With Gratitude, Ana M. Florescu Public Relations Manager at The Escalante

Rooms are nice with comfortable chairs, great beds, and private patios. The hotel is close to the beach and the commercial/restaurant areas of 5th Avenue and 3rd Street. 45 minutes away is Corkscrew Swamp, a wonderful nature preserve. The hotel restaurant is one of the very best in Naples and is reasonably priced. It would be good if the hotel could figure out a way for residents to enter and exit the rooms without walking between the restaurant tables. My only complaint: The $88 resort fee is excessive.

Dear Guest, We were very happy to read that you enjoyed all our hotel facilities: from the central location to the wonderful cuisine served by Veranda E, and from the private patios nestled in a blooming garden to the luxurious suites. Concerning the resort fee remark, we like to believe that the fee enhances our guests stay as it covers continental breakfast, along with private parking, WI-FI, daily newspaper, local phone calls and the beach butler service. Once again, thank you for your time and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. With Gratitude, Ana M. Florescu Public Relations Manager at The Escalante

Great hotel, personalized service, close to the beach and a wonderful alternative to a large resort. We just got back from a long weekend/girls' getaway and were very happy with our decision to stay at this small, boutique property. Their location also made it possible to do so without a car rental. Their Beach Butler service and staff were amazing. They bring you and set you up at the beach with chairs/umbrella and water, check on you and can even bring you lunch and drinks right to the beach. The continental breakfast was perfect for us (fresh fruit, granola, yogurt and a croissant). Our room (King Bungalow Suite) was very nice and featured a little patio leading out to the pool. We didn't get a chance to try to the restaurant for dinner, but had snack and lunch from there one day and it was delicious. So many places to explore within walking distance or a short uber ride away. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the Hibiscus Suite at $615 per night.
It’s not a suite with a bedroom at approx. 234 sq.ft.

Small room, small TV
100 year old mattress with a deep depression in it. You can see my knee depressing the mattress in the attached photos.

No chair or place to sit in the room.
No room service after 12AM.

Killer for us was that there is no Wi-Fi in the room.
We work when we travel and the inability to get on Wi-Fi was a black experience for us.
We complained to the reception but they had no clue of what to do and or didn’t care.

Clearly they need WiFi relay points in the rooms but don’t spend the money for them.

The property is very European and nice to look at.
The staff very nice
But
No Wi-Fi, a small room and mattress that should have been changed years ago with a big dip in it would eliminate us from ever staying here again.

We would stay at the Hotel on 5th next time or stay at one of the larger hotels off of 5th and drive in and park near 5th.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions with us. It was truly disappointing to know that we failed to meet your expectations in so many areas. The hibiscus Bungalow booked is a cozy room as the pictures show on the website. This room has been decorated in the Fall of 2019 and the new bed was outfitted with a memory foam mattress with great reviews online. It was a trial and clearly not something we will keep. I must say from many TripAdvisor reviews that actually hotel guests rave about the quality of their sleep in our beds. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, it is something that will be changed in the very near future. Concerning you remarks regarding WIFI, realizing that the Hibiscus Bungalow along with one other bungalow receive a poor quality WIFI from the multitude of access points we have throughout the property, since your stay, we installed access points inside these two rooms. As we are an 11-rooms hotel boutique the service hours are limited between 8:00am -11:00pm, indeed we do not offer in-room dining at midnight. Again, we are sorry for not being able to cater to your needs. With Gratitude, Ana M. Florescu Public Relations Manager at The Escalante

A beautiful oasis two blocks from the beach off of bustling Fifth Avenue. Excellent service, comfortable rooms and an attentive staff. Despite its location, noise was never an issue. The pool is surrounded by comfortable, well shaded lounges and there is no need to jockey for location or access.

We decided to stay one night based on a previous dining experience at Veranda E, and suggestions from family. Overall, we got everything and more on our 10th anniversary. The service was exceptional, and is what won us over from the start. Even prior to staying, we had a feeling based on the service we had by email and phone prior to booking that we were going to be staying in a spacious suite, and be able to enjoy the amenities in a short amount of time. We enjoyed the pool and hot jacuzzi, the nearby beach time, and having the social hour in our room. Staying at a quaint boutique hotel within close proximity to 5th Avenue, and having the garden setting surrounding us made the stay feel like a home away from home. Our only regrets are that we did not stay more nights, and bike around Olde Naples. We hope to do all of that for another special occasion stay at The Escalante.

Our weekend at the Escalante was one of the best getaways I have had in a long time. This establishment is passionate about hospitality and and incredibly attentive to the needs of its guests. We stayed in the one bedroom deluxe suite, and used the room as a space for a bridal party to get ready. It was comfortable and relaxing, and the hotel provided a gorgeous background for pictures. It was incredibly handy to have the restaurant on site - the bridesmaids were able to enjoy an early lunch on the patio of our suite with 5-star service. The staff even went as far as to leave a bottle of champagne and a sweet note for the Bride and Groom in celebration of their big day.

The ambiance is fabulous and the service is divine. If you are looking for a quiet respite in the heart of Naples, the Escalante is where you want to be.

I pride myself in doing extensive research prior to booking a trip. This vacation was no exception. I kept reading the reviews about the Escalante being a hidden gem & it should be ranked higher. I trusted these reviews and am SO GLAD I did!!!!! There are not enough adjectives to describe my experience. My husband and I were looking for a quiet place to escape work for a week and this was the perfect spot! The hotel itself was in a great location within walking distance to shops and restaurants on 5th and 3rd. And although you can walk to the beach, you can also have one of the staff drive you to the beach in their golf cart & set you up with chairs, towels, umbrella and drinks/food. When you tire of the beach, come back and relax in the wonderful pool and hot tub. We stayed in the 1 bedroom bungalow that was so comfortable and so homey, I almost became a squatter 😆. We also came to Naples for good food ... we quickly learned that the restaurant on site, Veranda E rivals any restaurant in Naples. The food is Top Notch. Also top notch is the entire staff. They all make you feel welcome and appreciated. If you don’t pick Escalante as your next hotel when visiting Naples, you chose wrong.

Charming and quaint, an oasis of tranquility in the midst of downtown 5th Ave., Naples. Lush landscaped courtyard with rooms and restaurant built around the Centercourt pool. Really lovely.
It was a pampered experience highlighted by the beach set ups—lounges, towels, table, bucket full of ice and water, and umbrella. As everyone says, the restaurant, Veranda E, is romantic with excellent food and service. The cold crab corn soup was my favorite—light and flavorful. The hotel rooms are small but very clean and adequate. The restaurant is open to hotel guests only for continental breakfast and afternoon happy hour.

I have stayed all over the world in beautiful hotels - with large and small. The Escalante, in Olde Naples, Florida, is absolutely the best in every way. The manager, Tommy Francavilla, restaurant Veranda E server Francesco, all of the front desk people, and David, who does a bit of everything, are all beyond excellent. The atmosphere is, as well - I have stayed here several times, and always loved it, but now am in a wheelchair, and the kindness and help has been so amazing. The pool, landscaping, and beauty of the hotel are perfect. It is a small, quiet and beautiful setting - My room's French doors open with a view to the wonderful palms and pool. It has the best location, on 5th Avenue and 3rd Street, so easy to walk to small shops and dining. I just can't recommend this hotel enough!
