Many guests commend the Loews Miami Beach Hotel for its stellar location, a stone's throw from the beaches and South Beach's vibrant scene. However, some travelers express dissatisfaction with the additional fees, which they feel diminish the hotel's overall value.
While the rooms receive mixed reviews, ranging from clean and spacious with impressive views to cases of being unclean and outdated, the amenities generally garner positive feedback, especially the beach service and pool area. The hotel's service is often highlighted as attentive and friendly, contributing to the memorable atmosphere, although a few guests mention a desire for more tranquility and improved housekeeping.

Hotel's Favourite
I love Miami. Nothing beats the heat, the vibe, the architecture, and the food. I have been in love with the city since the late 80s/early 90s when Miami Vice was a thing.
Coming back from a cruise, we stayed at Loews for 3 days. The hotel is spectacular. Very old world, very chic. The property is impeccably kept and extremely clean. The staff is phenomenal.
Special shout-outs to the following people who really made our stay memorable:
Johne (forgive me my friend if I spell your name incorrectly) showed us to our room. I am coming off a very bad knee injury and the hotel had a couple of options available for early check-in. Johne is charming; a 15-year veteran, a big teddy bear, and extremely kind. Merci, mon ami.
Lucy our concierge made sure we had places to go, people to see, and things to do. Incredibly professional and very, very helpful. (from this Macedonian girl to my Bulgarian sister, I thank you!)
Hugo was our server for breakfast. Eat outdoors. It's wonderful. You think you're on another planet with the view and the service. Thank you Hugo for your sense of humour and charm. And quick delivery of breakfast!
Johan on the beach. What a sweet, gentle, quiet young man. Took great care of us as we lounged in our cabana. I loved that experience. Thank you Johan!
Finally...Coach...I don't have the vocabulary to describe what an asset this woman is to the Loews team. Thank you Coach for your sense of humour about all things sports (Go Lions), for laughing with us at our team (Raptors), and for engaging the children in such a fun way. You are a gift.
To the hotel management I say well done. I have only one thing slightly negative to comment about and that was the hallway on the 14th floor leading to our room. It was always littered with food, pizza boxes, dirty dishes, and glasses. The carpet was always in need of a good vacuuming. Dishes lined up and down the hallway is not a good look for a hotel as classy as Loews.
I do want to mention that the poolside attendants were also incredible and the staff inside Splash were lovely.
All in all, an incredibly memorable close to a great holiday and a fantastic way to start 2025.
Thank you all.
Sincerely,
Vicki and Jim

Positives
[ ] Suncream at pool factor 30 and 50
[ ] Free swim nappies and armbands for children
[ ] Towels provided pool and beachside that are layed out at pool for you
[ ] Very strict on pool bed policy which was brilliant , we were always accomidated with beds. The towels were moved if people were gone for more than an hour.
[ ] Very clean pool, beach, hotel
[ ] Quiet location nice restaurants around
[ ] 2 minute walk from a shop , handy for buying water, which is 6 dollars a bottle in hotel shop
[ ] Right on the beach
[ ] Full fresh cold water tanks at pool all day long
[ ] Location 10 minute walk from ocean drive
[ ] Games room, kids club
[ ] Pool was so lovely, not cold. Have not had such a nice temperature pool in years, strangly the jacuzzi too hot to get into
[ ] Sofa bed in room, very comfortable, beds pillows comfortable
[ ] Safety box
[ ] Decent size room
[ ] Taxis almost always available, we used uber as much cheaper than the yellow cabs
Negatives
[ ] Service fee 20 percent added to everything
[ ] Breakfast 55 dollars but good service and feed, fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, scrambled eggs, omelettes, toast, bacon, coffee, tea, water. Just very pricey in the hotel. The coffee shop was 12 dollars for a small coffee and toast. It's really just very expensive
[ ] No atmosphere at night
[ ] No kettle, requested but it didn't come
[ ] A hotel staff member let somebody mistakenly into our room when we were resting during the day, it was very unsettling for us. I rang reception and informed them, they didn't appear to shocked by this
[ ] You have to pay for an umbrella on the beach 28 dollars, seems excessive when that part of the beach is designated to hotel guests. They don't offer even a half day rent out, we were only on the beach for max 90 minutes. Really it should be included in the "resort fee".
[ ] At checkout they requested a furthe charge. I am assuming it was a resort fee which we were not informed of. I had asked upon check in was everything totally paid for which I was told yes, I paid a 250 dollar deposit which I was told I would get back upon check out. But instead they kept the full 250 dollars. My booking receipt stated there was only a total of 88 euro to pay at checkout so taking a full 250 dollars really annoyed us after having to continuously pay 20 percent service charge on all the money we spent in the hotel. I don't really understand what this fee is for, you are a paying guest in a hotel surely that means you have access to its facilities.
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.. We were very disappointed about the 250dollar charge at checkout.. I had all receipts to say that service charge was included in our price. And feel between paying service charge on any services used in the hotel and then tipping on top money spent was too excessive..

This hotel is perfectly located in Miami Beach, everything is easily accessible and close by. Hotel is nice, but rooms somewhat dated.
Cleaning of the rooms leaves much to be desired. The room was not clean upon arrival and was not cleaned properly during our stay.
Breakfast was good, but we had to pay extra for the children, even though we had booked breakfast included.
People at the reception were very helpful and solution-oriented, but there is a bit of an atmosphere that you are lucky to sleep there. But you are also in the hip part of South beach.
The swimming pool is not very large and very warm, but the children did not mind. We didn't really like it. But that could also be due to the 35 degrees when we were there.
All in all, a great (expensive) hotel in the trendy south beach with some areas for improvement.

Having previously stayed at Loews properties in New York and Chicago, where we had pleasurable experiences, we were excited to try the Miami Beach location. Unfortunately, this stay has left us reconsidering the brand altogether—and wondering if we want to stay at any of their properties in the future. I think not.
The property itself is visually stunning and well-located, but several issues quickly piled up, detracting from what should have been a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
First, the hotel is divided into two towers: the main tower, which has been recently renovated, and the adjacent St. Moritz tower, an older Art Deco building. While the St. Moritz tower offers a historic aesthetic, it is in desperate need of an interior renovation. The rooms are dated, and the noise insulation is so poor that even a neighbor closing their door could wake us. Attempting to work from the room was equally frustrating, as hallway noise easily bled into the space. If you value peace and modern accommodations, make sure to confirm which tower you’ll be in.
The pool area is another mixed bag. While it’s beautifully designed, it was completely overrun by noisy children during our visit. The hotel is clearly geared toward families, which is fine, but as a couple in our thirties looking for relaxation, it wasn’t the right fit. An adults-only pool or designated quiet area would go a long way in improving the experience for a broader range of guests.
One of the silliest issues, however, was the hotel’s strict and intrusive no outside food or drink policy. While we understand the importance of their poolside dining revenue, the enforcement of this policy felt excessive. At one point, we brought a coffee and pastry from outside to enjoy poolside. Just as we raised the pastry for the first bite, a staff member approached us immediately, speaking in a curt, impolite tone to inform us we couldn’t eat it there. We were directed to the kids’ club area if we wanted to finish, even though our chairs were clearly visible from the same Kids’ area. The experience left us feeling watched and unwelcome, turning what should have been a simple, relaxing moment into a source of frustration. Personally, I don’t like being told what I can/can’t do on my vacation as long as I’m acting reasonably.
While these issues may seem minor on their own, they added up enough to leave us disappointed. Families might find this property appealing if none of these things are dealbreakers, but even then, I’d suggest reconsidering. For couples or solo travelers seeking a seamless, enjoyable experience, this hotel is far from ideal and don’t stay here. Given this stay, we’re questioning whether Loews remains the right choice for us going forward.

What a rude bunch this is! Upon arrival we were informed that we would have to pay a $600 deposit. No problem and so it was done. Later we checked the debit in the room (because we had read previous reviews about this) and it turned out that $1700 had been debited without asking. Back to reception for a story and we were told that the travel agency had not yet paid for the stay. This turned out to be untrue, because the travel agency had passed on everything neatly, but they had not carried out the debit themselves. We communicated about this several times and even when checking out we were told that it had been arranged with the travel agency. The reservation had been deleted upon departure, but when we returned home we discovered that the full amount had been debited again. Ultimately we were able to arrange this again with the travel agency, but I find making unsolicited debits from the credit card quite rude. Especially when it was indicated several times at the reception that everything would be arranged.
In addition, the room was very poorly cleaned, while the cleaning ladies have been chatting in the hallway in an unintelligible language since 7:30 am. The hallway was also not cleaned and after a few days this was dirty.
The food in the hotel is really good. We only dined here on the first and last evening, because the location in relation to many nice (breakfast, lunch & dinner) restaurants was perfect. We did have a lot of lunch by the pool and it was well taken care of.
If you want to lie by the pool, you have to be there on time, because there are far too few beds. As is often the case, of course. There is an alternative on the beach, but (unfortunately) you have to pay $30 for an umbrella. The staff is a bit pushy and when it is busy, beds are unceremoniously given to someone else while someone is taking a swim. This resulted in special forms of communication.
Our advice, have breakfast at Rosetta instead of paying $50 per person for breakfast at the hotel.

I want to start off by saying that my husband Jason and i started coming here about Five years ago and stay at this property 4-5 times per year. When i say this place feels like our second home, that is an understatement! As a former Hotel Manager in NYC and the Hamptons who was in the business for 20 years, i look for things just out of habit and can never find something that is wrong. When we pull in to the lobby of the hotel our stress just disappears. This review may be lengthy, but it needs to be because i want to mention names.
When you enter this property the fragrance of the lobby, hallways and other areas lets you know you are walking into a clean and sanitized environment. This past August my husband and i stayed for 15 days and any concerns we had or needs we may have had were met right away. There are a few managers that i want to mention because they are always reaching out to see how we are doing and if there is anything we need for our stay. These managers are Pavol, Nico & Jasson. These three men couldn't do enough for us. A big sincere thank you to them.
Upon checking in, we received a goodie dog bag for each one of our pups with dog bowls, and other goodies in their for them. Front desk staff as always right on their mark.
When we stay we get the Cabana daily in the Soak area.. If you have ever rented one of these you know the comfort you get. The staff here we have grown to love and they remember what foods we like, what drinks we drink and what amenities we prefer. When we came in August, we had brought our little senior Shih Tzus with us. Every morning when we went to the Cabana there dog mats were out and their bowls had fresh water in them. Our breakfast orders were already placed for us and whenever we wanted something it was there very quickly. The amazing staff at Soak are Jackie,Paul,Sonia,Princess and Radost. These individuals have always given us the 5 star service and always go above and beyond for us. To have staff that remember you , your likes, dislikes allergies to certain items is just remarkable.
The Bar Collins, also amazing staff Tommy and Miguel are amazing as are the two female tender which i apologize i forgot their names but always remember us and give perfect service as well.
Out by the pool is a store called Splash. Anna is such a wonderful person. every time shes sees us she gives us a hug as do all the staff members we know. It's like coming back to see family.
There is not one thing i would change in this property. Even though we come often, when we are not there we miss it which is why we look at this as our second home away from home. I would love if the staff can know how much we appreciate them. To the staff at Loews Miami Beach, you guys and girls are the best and we can not thank you enough
Jon & Jason Graziano

We don't want to be repetitive but the real "must" is the location. You are practically in the most convenient place to visit everything. Beaches, fashion streets etc etc. the rooms are a bit dated and small and there were three of us!!! We refused to have breakfast because it cost more than $50 each. Bottles of water in the room cost $8. There is a limit to everything even in Miami. Very large hotel absolutely in American style…..
surely if we were to pass through those parts again we will think of an alternative.

Worse service ever. We were put in a conference room converted floor. They had re used rooms as conference places and the lobby hallways were full of cables and WiFi and food. Horrible experience. When I asked to be moved they only had excuses even when I asked to speak with a manager the employee named Joshua said nobody was available, this is NOT acceptable for a hotel of this quality and given how much we had paid for these rooms. I have stayed before here and never got this bad of a service and lack of hospitality. Avoid this place. To make things worse valet parking takes longer than 25 minutes to get your car. I requested it for a specified time and they made me loose dinner reservations.
If this was not enough, at night music remind extremely loud to the point we could not sleep until early AM. With two kids is difficult to stay here, not a family place.
At the pool the people are not helpful the waits for anything are unacceptable and even if you show up with a bag from another place they give you trouble as if you were some sort of criminal. Yea I had a bag from a coffee shop that I got for later in the day but I was lazy to take it upstairs. Two different people approach me to threaten me about eating in the pool. ( I was 30 meters away from the pool) Customer service and satisfaction is simply horrible. I was very close to tell the people to loose it but I guess I still have respect unlike them. Any person should first ask before threatening.
Now the rooms were dirty, the towels literally smelled like someone wiped his/her … and I had to request them all to be replaced this is a first one for me in 25 years of traveling for business and pleasure. Disgusting 🤮

Very nice hotel!!!
Well served, both on the beach and by the pool.
Good location.
The cleanliness of the rooms, however, leaves a little to be desired but clean sheets and towels.
Beer by the pool or at the internal bar is 16$, I would say it's really exaggerated in terms of cost…

Was no trouble for us! They gave us four chairs every time
You’d definitely need to ask them for a rollaway bed (there is no sofa bed).
Call the concierge , they will give you a list of people to call
I was unable to book a complimentary photo shoot, although I emailed them for over a week prior to our arrival, and never received a response from photographer.
I then requested assistance from Concierge who was able to get a session, same day, However, the photography company required payment as our party was too large, even though we had 4 rooms. I did not agree to that charge as it states complimentary.
We ended up using an actual camera with a tripod and our family photo was great.
