Let me start out by saying the hotel is under construction it is nowhere near done but when it is it looks like it's going to be beautiful. We stayed there on a Saturday so there was no construction going on. The pool area was really nice the second pool is closed ... the food by the pool is just...

First let us apologize for the inconvenience the renovations might have caused and thank you for sharing our vision that it will be beautiful once renovations are completed.

The hotel is a nice hotel even though it is currently under construction we still enjoyed ourselves. Our room didn't have hot water in one of the bathrooms but we were compensated with free breakfast the entire time of our stay so that was great. We will be staying at the alexander for future trips!!!!!

Yes. There is construction. I was assured construction would be completed by 2018. Weekends are quiet, as no work is being done. The rooms are not rooms at all but one and two bedroom apartments with kitchens. All of the units are individually owned so they are all furnished differently. Check the photos online to see if the apartment is...

Call before you go to check on the amenities. There really is not enough room here for me to cite everything that was wrong with this stay! Only giving one star because you can't give 0. Hotel is totally under construction and there is no place to eat. Lunch is not available on Monday or Tuesday. The bar is closed...

We apologize for the inconvenience the renovations might have caused. Please note that when renting with AirBnb you are not actually renting with the hotel but with a private owner. I hope you choose to give us another opportunity when renovations are completed.

We rented through Airbnb a private room in the Alexander - BAD choice and BAD service from Airbnb...one would imagine better validation of what is being rented out - The whole building is basically a construction site. Every day it was as if the ceiling would collapse...we had constructors on our balcony all the time working while we were having...

I think that this hotel is beautiful. It has cozy old world charm with all the modern amenities. The room I stayed in was totally renovated, extremely spacious, with comfy beds. The balcony was not available, but since I spent so little time in the room, it did not really bother me. The hallways were a bit cold, and one...

Caution travelers....there is not a "little bit" of construction going on here. It is full-blown, very noisy, very invasive. One pool is closed, and halls are freezing and filthy. Even worse was when the fire alarm went off and the hotel emptied and the staff was like, "oh, that was a false alarm". Wait until construction is over before you...

Terrible accommodations. It is under construction, half of amenities unavailable. Charged our credit card double. Added on fees...For the key to the room. And many other unknown fees. Rooms are old, dirty and have bugs. Couldn't use balcony. Do to construction. Staff unhelpful.

When we booked the hotel we were never told that there is construction going on. It was all messy from the time we checked in. On the first day we were told to come at 4.00 pm as the oceanview room would be ready by then. We were shocked when they told us no room could be given to us...

This place is shambolic. It's practically a building site, nowhere near complete. Management failed to mention to us prior to booking or upon check-in. Still wanted to charge full price $1700 for 4 nights. Drilling woke us up at 8am. Builders peering through windows into bedroom. No rooms were cleaned and they said policy was to only do this every...
