Larry and Penny Thompson Park is a Rv'ers winter dream. Great park with mostly very good facilities. Good walking and biking, close to shopping and south Florida activities. The park caters to long term winter RVs. The sites are mostly very good with pods 10 & 11 being the worst. Price is great at $565 per month. The entire campground...

My wife and I spent 5 nights at this campgrounds. We were very surprised, considering it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood, at just how nice and quiet it was. All of the sites are very large and the ground is very flat. All of the roads are paved and the bathrooms/laundry rooms were very clean. The night...

A huge county park with lots to do. The sites are spacious with lighted power boxes. Plenty of shaded sites, lots of restrooms, laundry facilities, a beautiful pool and best of all our site was only $29 a night. What a bargain!

You've heard of it right?......... NOT!! At least I never had until I ran across it surfing the net. I forgot this one(not a good sign). We stayed here a couple three nights after we left Key Largo. I have a niece that lives in Miami and we wanted to see her and also check South Beach off our bucket...

The "Pod" sites are not suitable for larger RVs. It's crowed around a cul-de-sac layout. Sites are shaded and close together. Asphalt paved sites are coarse, broken up and not cleaned of debris. Water, electric and sewer hookups are good. It seems a majority of the sites are occupied by full-time residents as a lot of "junk" like trailers, storage,...

Larry and Penny Thompson Park is probably the best hidden gem in Miami-Dade for camping and relaxing. This campground and park is located off Exit 13 of the Florida Turnpike (near the Cutler Ridge area), just south of the Miami-Dade Zoo. The park itself has a great selection of amenities (water slides, pool, beach / lake, etc. so there is...

We spent six months in this campground in 2006. The camp is pretty, lots of fruit trees, sites are spacious and the grounds are well organized. Being summer, only 4 Pods were open, pods having about 15 sites (I could be wrong). Did not have to make reservations because there was plenty of space. Over half of the campground was...

The reason I gave this campground 3 stars is because it really is a nice, shady location. What is the worst is that the pool and beach are only open Saturday and Sunday. Thus, if you or the kids want to take a splash on the weekday, you're out of luck. I haven't heard anyone mention this important fact. Additionally,...

We have stayed a this Campground many times. It is definitely a nice place to spend a few days. We usually spend between 5-7 days and visit at least 3 times a year. Great facilities. Close to Malls, restaurants, stores. Grounds are kept nice. Office folk are very helpful.

The price for tent camping in proximity to Miami can not be beat. We were pleasantly surprised with a pool and an air conditioned common room with free WiFi. It's an RV park with RV's arranged in pods. It has really cheap rates and is run by the county. Tent camping is only allowed in the designated field which is...
