Decent beds, very nice gym, average but decent restaurant and good location. But again, the staff and management went above and beyond to try to fix the issues.
There was a free continental breakfast included in our stay. Just be sure to make it clear to the restaurant staff that you'd like the continental breakfast and show them the provided breakfast cards you receive at check in. Unfortunately my friend and I did not clarify this before ordering and we ended up having to pay for our meal because it was not the designated breakfast (which is just fruit + pastries.) We were not aware of this so just wanted to be sure others knew and don't make the same mistake, lol.
The room (a deluxe room) was very spacious and clean. I loved that my friend and I had separate sinks and that the shower/tub situation was an entirely other ROOM than the bathroom (the tub was amazing, btw)! Made getting ready really easy and efficient.
There's a main pool, two smaller soaking tubs (loved the cold one- so refreshing) and a lap pool. We did not have any issue grabbing lounges around the pool but we also went during the low season.
The location is a bit tucked away from the nightlife but many things are a short uber ride away. You can get to Miami Beach in about 15 minutes via car.
I would absolutely stay here again, really loved my time here.
We had breakfast off the menu, not the buffet, ordered my eggs poached and the waiter was not sure if they did that so I was totally fine with over very easy, dad got same dish. The eggs were over well, he said they can’t do poached. We never got the fruit we ordered, I asked for decaf coffee and was served tea, had to repeatedly ask for water and more coffee, slow to come... The people behind us were told they could get poached eggs, by a different waiter. So not sure what was up with that. Finally got new eggs after we were almost done with our meal.
I decided to give a try for an early dinner and the staff was horrible, all chatting and on their phones, after waiting 45 minutes for our burger and shrimp tacos, they were cold. I sent back the taco my dad ate his burger because he was starving. I got my new tacos about 20 minutes after my dad started eating. And again I felt like I had to beg for water.
On top of the bad food and service I’m not sure why there is an 18% automatic gratuity (added after the tax) on each check. I typically will leave 25% for good service and more for great service but I always leave 10% when the food/service is poor. Unfortunately the server and cook are rewarded for sub-par service. I would recommend staying here but avoid this onsite restaurant at all cost.
Yes, this place looks exactly like the picture, super beautiful. The service, on the other hand, is horrible.
I'm a business person, and I know perfectly that our current economy has caused many problems in all the industries, including finding personnel to work at hotels, restaurants, etc. But what is not an excuse is for the management of this hotel to continue booking rooms when they do not have enough personnel to clean or support the customers' everyday needs. The hotel is not providing housekeeping because the cleaning lady said it was only one person at the hotel cleaning the rooms. They only provided one towel because they claimed they did not have people to do laundry. Our room for the five days I stayed was never clean; every time we needed it, we had to go down to the reception area because nobody answered our calls at housekeeping or the front desk most of the time.
Ah, but to make things better do you think management knows they can not provide services and lower their prices? But not; everyone you met in the elevator was complaining about the service and the high price. If I just want a place without services, I would stay at a nice VRBO for a lot less than the hotel prices. The reason business people like me stay in a nice boutique hotel is to relax and get the services to need it. I do not mind paying for a good hotel, but this hotel charging the amounts they want for a room with no service is not acceptable. Before you book, call them to find out if they finally got more employees working for them. Otherwise, this is not a good place for the price.
My room was not available until after 8pm. They sent me upstairs to the “restaurant” which only has 3 tables and is actually just a pool bar, to wait hours for my room to be ready. I was joined there by other irate guests who had already been waiting for their rooms. After my second time going downstairs to inquire on my room, after I specifically asked, I was finally given a voucher for drinks and food. Too bad I had already spent over an hour buying my own drinks and food, which would not be reimbursed. I went back upstairs to wait. The waitress did not deliver my drink for 20 minutes and there were TWO menus that all the guests needed to share. Nobody knew where the other menus were or seemed to care.
My room was serviced once in my 4 night stay, and only because I specifically asked them (on another trip down to the lobby from the 14th floor). When I checked out I heard another guest complain that his room was never serviced.
At approximately 12:30 am my first night, the wifi speaker in the room suddenly turned on at full blast while I was fast asleep. I called the front desk who told me they would come check it out. They never did. I waited until 1 am and disabled the speaker myself.
The “mood lighting” setting in the room blasts fluorescent lighting at you from the mini bar. Oh speaking of the mini bar, bottles of water were $12 and I was not offered the 2 free bottles of water for Diamond members.
At breakfast, when I asked for the Diamond continental breakfast I was told I needed to go downstairs and get a coupon for that. This was embarrassing as it was done in front of other guests, and they basically kicked me downstairs to “get the coupon.” The front desk then told me there is no coupon and no continental breakfast either. While I was down there for 4 minutes they gave my table to someone else.
The room itself was so-so. Nice size. Horrible soundproofing. Not very clean at all, stained curtains, hair in shower, stained floor near toilet, dirty trash cans.
Coffee maker in the room is terrible.
I will never be back, thanks.
During our second day, we had asked for housekeeping to come to our room but when we came back at night, the room was exactly how we left it. That was very dissapointing so we called the front desk from our room, she said housekeeping was gone for the day but she can bring towels and whatever else she could bring at that time for us.
There were two women who tagged team and brought the things to our room, I didn't catch the other woman's name but the person who I spoke to, her name is Lily, if you go to this hotel then you MUST meet her! She was so helpful! She noticed that the light outside our room was not working and then I mentioned how the light inside wasn't working as well, and she immediately started investigating the issue. She contacted someone else to help, his name is Trevor, you have to meet him as well!
Lily and Trevor were so amazing that they turned a bad situation upside down. They were so friendly, courteous, considerate and definitely went above and beyond. They switched us to a different room that night and helped us move our stuff as well. Not only that, Lily came to our room the next day to check up on us.
Does the hotel have issues ? Yes, is the staff good that they will help you? Yes. If you get Lily or Trevor helping you then you KNOW you are in the absolute best hands possible.
