Pay the extra $$ to stay near the port if you're cruising! This was NOT a good choice for our one-night, pre-cruise stay. The website photos are very misleading - this is NOT a glamorous place. (The first thing I did was check for bed bugs - thankfully, none there.) Miami itself is not a safe place - but the...

Thank you very much for your feedback. If we could just sum up your review: 1. Your room was very clean and free of bugs, perhaps a little too clean! This is not the first time we have had this complaint and we will address this again with our cleaning staff. 2. You expected (for $100 per night) a glamorous...

We thought the New Yorker was absolutely fine, whilst agreeing that the term "boutique" should be dropped from its title. The pick-up from the airport was good and prompt, our room was very clean (NO chemical smell), the bed was comfortable, we had a fridge and hair dryer, plenty of electrical sockets, and the staff were very friendly and helpful....

We booked this hotel based on the TA reviews and excellent price, but this time we disagree with other TA users. The chemical smell almost knocked us over when we opened our room door for the first time. Despite all our efforts to get rid of the smell, our clothes smelled really awful for the next three days. Room was...

As said by most previous reviewers a clean friendly run hotel, their internet site provides an accurate picture of the property. An Art Deco period property being lovingly restored to its former glory the property is a credit to the hard working owners/staff. So many other properties in the area could do with the same TLC as this hotel. Tip...

My husband and I were going on a quick cruise out of Miami and had had enough of red-eye flights from LAX-MIA. I said no more. We were going to fly into Miami the day before and get a hotel, sleep and be refreshed before the cruise. I didn't want to spend $250 for a nights sleep in a hotel...

We booked the New Yorker pre-cruise based on their advertising as a "boutique" hotel. It isn't. It's an old motel that has new, hip and trendy furniture (wooden box bed frames, tiny plastic chairs) that isn't at all comfortable. There was no outlet in the bathroom so I dried my hair without a mirror, the A/C wall unit was in...

We appreciate your feedback. We call ourselves a boutique hotel because unlike the motels in Miami, we do not allow any customers to walk in off the street. You must have reservations at our hotel to stay with us. The motels here in Miami take anyone off the street who are willing to pay for a room which can result...

Chose TripAdvisor's 10th most popular Miami hotel to stay with my brother for 3 nights. Didn't notice that it was not listed in the AAA Florida guidebook (mea culpa). Rooms are prison cell sized and minimalist furnished except for a large flat screen TV. No individual room climate control. Ceiling fan lamp above beds. Told at front desk that if...

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We feel that we have been very honest in our advertising. Our website says very clearly that our property was a motel until 2010. We never claimed to be a luxury property with spacious rooms, expensive looking toilets and a restaurant. Our...

Our stay at the New Yorker made our experience in Miami truly wonderful. We were stuck in Miami after missing a connecting flight, and the motel was recommended by a local woman we met at the airport. The staff offered to pick us up at the airport at a cheaper price than any taxi or shuttle. The motel is centrally...

We stayed over Christmas which can be hard but not for the wonderful staff at the New Yorker. I felt like I was home and being from Chicago much warmer. I loved relaxing by the pool. The room was decorated in Decco style and had an amazing bed with a beautiful white fluffy comfoter and all the ammenities I need...

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The hotel is in the 50’s motel style. Rooms are of a basic design, but the Hotel & rooms are comfortable, clean & well kept. All the staff at the Hotel were very nice, very helpful & only too willing to please. Breakfast was good. We used it as a base to...
