A welcoming large hotel with genuinely friendly and helpful staff in all positions. Amazing for a large hotel. It still felt intimate because of the staff. Front desk, restaurant, engineering to swap out a small fridge, housekeeping -- everyone was smiling and gracious. And the hotel was in good shape physically, and had the amenities you would expect from a large hotel -- pool and jacuzzi which several people could fit into, wide hallways, a real lobby which was spacious, large breakfast buffet with great variety of delicious offerings, REAL coffee not just brown water, pub restaurant with variety of foods also, convenient parking. We would definitely stay here again when in north Orlando. The only issue we had (so you know I am real) was that a big cold front had sat over this part of Florida a few days and the large glass domed atrium restaurant was chilly the first two days we were there. It had a massive amount of cubic feet of air to regulate. The hallways were all regulated well. Our third day the atrium restaurant became very comfortable to linger in over breakfast. I don't usually bother to review places, but I am very happy with the staff, the ambience, the quality of everything.

I use this hotel on a weekly basis for business travel - can’t beat the location if you are visiting a Maitland corporate campus close by. The 6th floor rooms are beautifully redone and the 6th floor lounge is now open for drinks. Almost back to normalcy during the pandemic.....

Kurtis at the front desk sets the bar high and his service and attention to detail rivals any Marriott / Bonvoy property level out there (Ritz, JW, St Regis, etc).

9+ years of being platinum and ~600 nights stayed — the weekly Monday to Thursday stays at Marriott properties has been my life over the past decade. It is so nice when the front desk at at a property preemptively plans for your arrival and has everything prepped before you walk in (car lot access already added to room and key, bed and room preference, location preference, etc) and does all of this without even asking. A nice few minutes saved of admin check in process on a Monday night after a long day of work is a blessing in my life.... and the Sheraton / Kurtis always enables that.

Overall a great business hotel property and no brainer location - or if you have family in the Maitland / Winter Park / Altamonte area and you are visiting, this is a great Sheraton for the rate.

- Jon

Stayed in one of the newly refreshed suites, it was a far sight better that our last visit when it was an old, dated suite. It's a huge improvement, pleasing to the eye, up to date furnishing, even a power outlet on the sofa with USB ports. The good stops there.

We were there the weekend of June 12, knowing in advance that the club lounge, restaurant, and bar were closed due to the current situation. No food and beverage, we can deal with that since we knew.

Marriott’s Commitment to Clean seems to not be practiced here. There was some trash behind the sideboard that holds the refrigerator and coffee maker (I dropped a cup behind it, and went to fetch it, that's why I was there), the bathroom floor had sheetrock dust from the remodel along with a small paper wrapper. The little shampoo bottom was partially used.

I don't know if getting new bedding is happening after the rest of the rooms are renovated, but out duvet cover had a tear in it, and the comforter was in pretty sad shape, so bad that all the material in it was wadded up into little balls and you could feel with it on top of you. I was really not happy about the comforter, but it must be rampant there as we had one just like it last year in the old suite. I did bring that to the attention of the front desk manager during that trip, so I know they knew about it.

The toilet paper holder was already spinning on it's axis. You'd think housekeeping would report that to maintenance, but apparently attention to detail is not a priority.

Staff was friendly enough for people working in a ghost town. I don't know what the census was, but it had to be low, I rarely saw anyone as we came and went over two days.

The biggest disappointment came reaching out to the GM. I emailed him on 6/16, and as of 6/23 I haven't heard back.

We have stayed at this property multiple times as it's convenient to family and friends when we visit Orlando, and for the past 2 or so years we've tolerated and watched as the refresh took place. We were kind of excited to finally get to stay in one of the renovated rooms after watching it age over the past 9 years of visiting.

I don't know if we'll be back, it was just that much of a let down this time.

Dear Bonzaiflyer, Thank you for returning to visit with us and sharing this detailed breakdown. This information is monumental in assisting to make improvements. We shared this breakdown with the hotel housekeeping and maintenance team to ensure the systems in place are performing optimally and tweak any underperforming areas to ensure everything is performing as it should. Unfortunately during these difficult times all hotels have had extremely low occupancies since March causing devastating impacts to the hospitality industry. Marriott properties and hotels worldwide truly look forward to a return to normalcy whenever that may be.

I had the worst experience at the Sheraton North Orlando. I stayed here for business on the government rate for 5 days (maybe that’s why I was treated like trash).
I asked for a quiet room at the time of booking (2 weeks prior to my arrival) and upon arrival, I was placed in a room facing a super busy highway (room 434). When I asked to be moved, they told me I had to move my belongings and gave me a room (room 311) that literally had a small window that faced the air conditioner ducts. It felt like I was in a dungeon. It was dark, old and smelled horrible. I asked to speak with a manager and instead of being apologetic, the manager berated me and told me that I wasn’t given an interior room because I asked for a “quiet” room. I asked him how that was considered a quiet room, and he began to debate me about my ask not being something I should expect to be given. His customer service was horrible. They didn’t even offer to move my belongings from room to room. I had to move them myself, including groceries I had purchased. For the life of me, I don’t understand how a quiet room equals a room facing a busy interstate. The only solution he could offer as he said they were fully booked (even though I checked in at 5pm) was to have me moved the next day. He didn’t even offer ear plugs.
I went back to the first room that I was given facing the interstate. When I attempted to use the restroom, the toilet began to flood after one flush with nothing in it. I called the front desk and they sent someone up. The gentleman worked with the toilet for 10 minutes and said it was fixed. After a terrible nights sleep of trying to drown out the tractor trailers driving up and down the highway, I did a test flush of the toilet before I even used the toilet and it flooded again.
By this time, I had to leave for my work conference. The young lady at the front desk was very sweet and assured me I would be given a better room and would be moved while at work. Luckily that did happen.
I am grateful I was moved, but I likely would never stay there again and would caution any of my colleagues of staying at this particular establishment. Upon check out, I was charged 75 for eating at their restaurant even though I never ate there and on the day in question, I never left my room other than to go to work. Additionally when I booked, I was told parking was $12 a night, but was charged $13 a night. Thankfully the young lady at the front desk was able to remove the charges; however it just added to what was already a hectic stay at this hotel.
All in all, the rooms are old, unless you pay extra just to get an updated room (which you could just book somewhere else instead of paying a PREMIUM for an updated room), the internet connection is non-existent, the customer service lacked, you have to pay for parking on a lot where there is ample spots and your ask for accommodation likely may not be given. Save yourself the trouble- book elsewhere!

I travel around the country for work and I understand the impacts of covid-19 on the hotel industry but I have been to far more remote areas that have been better taken care of. Its apparent the moment you arrive that this place isn't maintained. I come to check in and when I arrive the trash cans out front are overflowing, then i walk in and the line to check in is ten people deep because there's one person working. I think ok not her fault figure maybe I came in at a busy time. So after the poor girl finishes getting yelled at by everyone else I get checked in and want a bite to eat. Sounds normal. WRONG. Not one option for food available. Not going to let it ruin my night so I go down the street to get some fast food from everyones favorite place thats not open on sundays and come back. Get in the room wash my hands and my towel look like the rag i would use to wash the car it has threads ripping off everywhere I figured it was just an oversight so I grabbed the next one same issue. Its fine just drying myself off. Go to turn the tv on and it doesn't work. I call the desk nobody answers. So after finishing my food I go down to the desk and sure enough a line of people I have to wait in to tell them my tv doesn't work. lets say thirty or so minutes later nice gentlemen comes up and fixes the tv. So then we get to later in the night I go to use the restroom and the handle has fallen off my door to the bathroom so I can't get in. I call the desk someone answers instantly to my surprise and I inform them of the situation of which they inform me they are the only one on property and can give me keys to another room but dont have anyone there to fix it. really??? all in all just a terrible experience it seems like it could've been a nice place if they stop trying to pinch pennies

I have been coming here for 24 years and have stayed here multiple times and I always wonder why! From the original Sheraton until Sheraton removed their name, it was changed to Orlando North Hotel, and a few years later after a moderate room redecorating, it was back to a Sheraton, and it is still horrible. Granted the COVID situation has changed things for every hotel chain, but most have at least provided some house keeping service, or have some restaurant amenities, but not here! The restaurant, AnTobar, has always been horrible, the main dining area in the hotel is only open for breakfast, and the Club on the Club level (6th floor), is a joke! The only reason I stay here when I am in this area is it is part of the Marriott Bonvoy program and it is near my office, otherwise it isn’t worth the money or experience. I was hoping that being part of Bonvoy, things would be improved, but not the case here.

Considering how pretty and impressive the atrium was, I was very underwhelmed. They charge for parking although the area doesn’t appear to have high parking demand - half the time, the arms to the lot were open, so I’m not sure what exactly we were paying for. Room wasn’t cleaned at all one day, and something was always missing when it was cleaned - enough towels, new coffee cups, etc. Shallowest drawers I’ve ever seen. We were there long enough that I wanted to unpack, but the drawers were so shallow that we ended up living out of our suitcases instead. Paint was peeling from the ceiling of the bathroom…enough little things that would deter us from staying here again considering the number of hotels there are in Orlando.

There were bleach stains on the sheets. I made a request through the app to have additional blankets, wash clothes, hand towels, and bath towels approximately eight hours before check-in, but the front desk clerk had no idea what we were talking about. When I asked for more items, she said enough was provided in the room and we could get more later. Our wedding was the next day and I wasn’t going to be able to make those arrangements that day. There were not many options for breakfast in the grab and go section, but Starbucks drinks were nice. Beautiful inside but needs more work in service. I can’t say I would pick this Marriott hotel again.

We were redirected to the Sheraton when the Courtyard had mishap with a flood and power outage. The person on the desk recognized our status with Marriott and upgraded us from the room we assigned. The room we were given definitely needed shelter cleaning as there was toothpaste on the bathroom door and there was a hole in the drywall behind the entry door but over all it served the purpose. Staff was very pleasant!

My only concern was that the door would not latch properly all the time; so, I was glad to have extra door locks for security. I would also double check that the door closed, latched and locked whenever I left the room. Otherwise the room was clean and spacious with comfortable beds. I ordered room service which was delicious and delivered in a reasonable amount of time, with customer friendly service. The hotel lobby was clean, with several ballrooms/meeting rooms and an open dining area in the atrium. Fitness room available for use as well as gated parking or valet service.
